View Full Version : Bath Time
Currently we are using a baby bath to bath the little man. However, he will shortly be out of that and we only have a shower. This leaves us with a little problem. He really loves the bath and I heard that the shower is more stimulating than relaxing (not a good  when he has his bath right before bed time). Just wondering if anyone knows of a LARGE portable bath or any suggestions on what we could do in this situation?????

we had the same thing and when ds was too big for the bath we just showered with him and he still slept fine...we aslo have a routine were a shower is the secondlast thing before bed...he usually has a bottle after it and that relaxes him before sleeping:yes:
i think its a beautiful way to bond with the bub having showers together :hugs:

My little boy ia almost too big for his baby bath - after that I was thinking I might wash him in the laundry sink since it is a decent size.

When DD got a bit too big to LAY in her baby bath, I just took her in the shower with me. You could always just SIT in the shower and give him a little wash that way.
When she started sitting up well on her own, I just put the baby bath inside of the bath (or shower in your case) and let her sit up in that. She's got plenty of room...but not so much room that she could easily slip over (like she seems to do whenever she's in the normal bath...).

This is exactly what I did with my DS. DD has hardly used the baby bath...not many places to put it in this house...she either showers with me or I put her in the bath with DS.

DD1 used to fall asleep when she had a shower so it was definitely not stimulating for her! And DD2 loves the feel of it on her back, she likes to lay there for ages, then she'll pop her head up and puts it underneath the water!

I use a small blow up pool from on eof those cheapy shops it is only small but holds enough water for bubs to play in and lay in. My boy has been to big for his baby bath from 4wks old and has been in the shower ever since. he has a shower, bottle and bed and he has no problem going to sleep.
my DS is nearly 10 months and we still bath him in the laundry sink, saves us bending too. We have a bath but will continue to use the laundry until he gets too big. The blow up pool idea is a good one too.
