Hi – hoping someone can help me! I am an overly stressed mother at the best of times (just want to do everything right) & am worried about the routine I have set for my DS (13mths old). He has 200mls cows milk in the morning, then when he gets to daycare has weetbix with cows milk. He eats solids during the day with another 200mls cows milk during the day & then at night has dinner & another 200mls cows milk. All milk is in a bottle. So, my questions are: Am I giving him too much dairy (as he also has yoghurt/custard at meal times)? Should he be off a bottle by now & if so I can I encourage him to do it when daycare don’t have the time to continue trying during the day? Am I over-feeding him? Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated….

The general rule with dairy is 3 serves a day. So if he is having cheese and yoghurt through the day maybe give him water to drink instead. You can always ask day care to give him a cup through the day and chances are he will drink from it because the other kids are and then you can gradually change him over at home. Or, if him having a bottle suits you then why change it??

My DD1 made most of her major changes thanks to the staff at daycare - they deal with those things daily but I was still learning so I turned to them for advice on the best way to initiate change and they helped me carry it through.
