I am looking for a good Iron Vitamin. I don't need anything else added to it though as I am already on Folate 5000mcg due to low folate levels, I am taking a preg vitamin but the doc said I need more iron that what they contain.
Thanks
I take FAB iron as it does not constipate me and also is vegie freindly.

Can I ask why you arent considering getting your iron from food? Its always better to get it from food rather than be popping 3 different pills each day... ( no offence intended:))
I agree halloweenmum and if we all had the luxury of a body that metabolises iron properly from food that would be the answer BUT sadly there are a lot of women out there who can't no matter how much green leafy stuff they eat or how much red meat they scoff. If the doctor doesn't think the preg vitamin is enough then I would say splish n splash comes under my group (BTW the preg vitamin worked well for me).
I used ferro-grad c as it was the only one that didn't cause horrible side effects.

No offence I eat lots of green leafy stuff and also milk with added iron but sadly it's not working, I am not a huge meat eater but to eat red meat 3 times a week.

Thanks you, you sound like me, my body just doesn't want to get it's iron stores from food. I have had trouble with iron since 2002.

My iron count too is low and it has been for years. I was taking FAB but I was still borderline anaemic on two pills a day. My GP has changed me to Ferrograd C and the difference is incredible. I have so much more energy now and feel much more normal. Also havent had any constipation issues.

My GP suggested Floradix Herbal Iron Supplement. Because it's a liquid, it's apparently easily absorbed. Tastes awful though!

I took FGF as recommeded by my OB.

I use spa tone liquid iron supplements. It doesnt cause constipation  either and you just mix it with juice... It's a bit more expensive but i used that through out my pregnancy and after.... I had a severe iron deficiancy but it's better now.
