Fertility Treatment Costs

Evening all!
I was wondering if anyone knew what aspects of fertility treatments are covered by PHI? As I understand it most fertility treatment is done as an outpatient and PHI only covers inpatient procedures? Will it cover any costs associated with IVF? Will it cover the costs of the FS? Will it cover any of the bazillion blod tests we have to have? Will it cover any of the storage fees for sperm/eggs?

I'm not current on what is covered and what is not - it's been a while since I did a full cycle.

The girls in the IVF section will be able to help you, if you'd like to post there?

Also, I think there will be changes to the coverage in January 2010.

I am sure there is a thread in the IVf section about this, but you can pretty much expect very little back from PHI even on top cover. Problem is alot of your treatments would not be in hospital and that is only usually what will be covered with PHI - the rest from Medicare.

The only part I got back from PHI was my egg pick ups and transfers (and very little of the total cost) so considering how much else is invloved in IVF it isn't really that much.
