I'm going to start planning my baby shower over the next month, I want the invites to at least go out a month before my due date.
Due to family obstacles. I will be having my shower either on my due date, or a week before hand. I know this sounds a little risky, but what exactly are my chances of going into labour on my actual due date?
I’d also like to ask anyone if they have any idea’s/games for baby showers? :smiliedance:
I have few to share as well if anyone is interested, not much but a few…
Let me know please, thanks!
A good one i played is the guessing game where everyone writes down what they think is the date, time, weight , lenght, sex and a name.
Another one is everyone brings a photo of themselves when they were a baby and everyone has to guess who everyone is

At my baby shower with Matthew, guests brought little parenting tips on nice bits of paper, so I could put it in a scrapbook for Matthew. We also did a 'guess the tummy measurement' game where guests had to guess what my girth was and then we had DH measure me with a tape measure. The winner got a choccie. :)
another one is the peg game. give each guest 7 pegs (you can buy bags of a 100 at Woolworths) and everytime someone crosses their legs or says baby only person who notices it first can take a peg and the person with most pegs at the end of the day wins a prize.
I'm about to PM you as my friends sister just had a baby shower and i got a whole heap of games of the internet

I had a couple of games at mine.
One was everyone had to decorate a hard boiled egg and look after it like it was a baby. If u put it down, someone else could steal ur "baby".
We also did the guess the size of my tummy.
A game where everyone is given a piece of paper and in 2 mins they had to write down a girls and a boys name for every letter of the alphabet.
A funny one was where everyone had a blank sheet of paper and I asked them to write down an adjective, then a noun, then a verb etc and at the end they all got a birth story with words missing and their words on their paper got put into the story! It was a hoot!!
We had little prizes like bath bombs, chocolates etc.
theres one where you hold a piece of paper against your forehead and have to draw a baby
celebrity heads where you are an object or something to do with concieving babies, birth etc (can be as clean or as dirty as you like)
and pass the parcel where each time the parcel gets unwrapped will be a clue (eg who delivered the biggest baby etc) thats the person you pass it to and so fourth.
Melt a fun size chockie bar in 4-5 different nappies and let people sniff they nappy and guess what it is - then give a prize for who gets them all right.
You could also do some internet searches. There are some on the internet.
Buy some cheap baby's bottles and fill them up with juice and get say 6 ppl to compete to see who drinks the juice the quickest from the teat!

My mum and I came up with this idea. Pretty proud of it actually
We were going to buy a few plain white shirts/body suits for each size, like say for example 000 then a few sizes up another few shirts, and buy glow in the dark art ink, colourful paint for writing, and we were going to make cute little baby shirts, like pass them around and everyone can scribble something on it or put a little symbol/piece of writing on it for the baby.
When i was little my Mum and i did this with my sister, we bought these big night gowns for winter, and we each decorated our own night gown with glow in the dark paint. It was a really cute idea i'm glad my mum actually sat us down and did it with us. I remember nights when Sarah or I would wake up from a bit of a nightmare, I’d just look over in my sister's bed and see her glowing in the dark lol and i knew everything was okay at that point.

At my shower, each guest was given a square of felt. On the table were coloured markers, pieces of coloured felt, yarn, glitter, stick-on rhinestones & the like. Everyone had to make a picture on their piece of felt.
After everyone was done, I stuck them all onto a large piece of fabric with some heavy backing & put it up onto my daughter's bedroom wall as a lovely and unique wall hanging. Claire has adored it from day one!! It hangs near her change table & she's always loved staring at it (although now she tries to pull things off it! )
We did mine all in pinks & purples & it looks really good (we knew we were having a girl!) If you have a colour theme for your nursery, you can go with that, or even just pick out your favourite colours.
If you'd like to see a photo of it, just PM me & I cna email it to you.

Tummy Sizer-
Each guest upon arrival gets to cut a length or ribbon/wool or string(you could use colours that co ordinate with the baby ie blue for a boy etc) to the size they guess is the mum to be's tummy.
The person who guessing correctly gets a prize
Change the nappy-
In teams of two, people must change a baby dolls nappy as quick as they can.
They can only use one hand each a the other is wrapped around their partner, a stop watch is used to see which team is the fastest!
Winning team gets a prize!
BTW I love the bottle drinking competition LOL:laughing:
