Well i am trying to decide what to do now, since we have been TTC since oct last year, and in jan i was told i have the "suggestion" of PCO, due to some irregular hormones, but clear scans, and was given a referal to a specialist, but was also told to take the pill for a few months, which i did but only for a few weeks, and it made me bleed heavily, so i stopped taking it. I tried vitex which seemed to shorten my cycle, but didnt get a BFP, and this cycle i was taking maca capsules, which did make me ovulate earlier, and it seemed i may have had a BFP, but then i got a neg BT and today temp dropped and i really feel like AF is coming.
My question is should i go to a specialist? Does anyone know what they might do for me? Will they give me some drug?
Or should i go down the natural therapy path and have accupunture? That can fix most things that are wrong with you right? I mean i also have neck problems, so i guess they will also help with this right?
What would you do?
Conventional medicine or natural therapies?

Morning Doula,
Compassionate hugs for your unfortunate rollercoaster ride this week.
I think best option would be to see a specialist first, incase there is anything medically wrong with you.
Accupuncture is good for many situations but if there is something physically wrong like pcos it's best to find that first.
I went to a specialist last week. I'm having about 20 different blood tests on the day my AF starts, and then one week after i have my AF i am having an ultrasound. Then I go back (with my DPs tadpoles in a cup) and he can evaluate everything for me.
Then if they find nothing physically wrong with you, accupuncture might be beneficial.

i have had BT and that gave the suggestion of PCO due to abnormal hormones, my unterus and ovaries are all clear. This is why i was given the referal to a specialist, to see what they would do.
Id go to the specialist first, I dont know what would be involved but it might be the best first step.
I am currently having acupuncture. I went off the pill 3 months ago and have not bled at all yet. My blood was checked for PCOS as both my older sisters have it but except for a little high Testosterone level they didnt indicate PCOS, I have had an internal ultrasound in the past also which came back clear.
I am at a time where my body just needs to be given time to get itself back into gear. I am taking all sorts of multivitamins, marine oil, magnesium powder, vitex and chinese herbal medicine. Have been taking most of these for the whole 3 months. I have been seeing a natopath/nutritionist at least once a month for the last 3 months and have been having acupuncure and the herbal medicine now for about 5 weeks (i go once a week).
If you were going to try acupuncture, find someone who specialises in fertility treatment. And be prepared for the costs, my first session was about $80 + $10 Chinese Herbal Medicines, the subsequent sessions are about $50 + the $10. Most Health funds do cover some costs but if they are like mine they do have a limit on 'alternative therapies' and this quickly gets used up! The sessions last for about 45min-1hr and he looks at my BBT chart (inc CM etc signs), looks at my tounge, finger nails, takes my pulse and kidney chi (or something like that! lol) has a chat, talks about diet (mine is also a natropath) and for about 15+ mins i have the needles in. I generally have about 3 at a time. For anyone in Adelaide PM me and I can give you his details.
Oh and even if you are diagnosed with PCOS or something else (if anything), it doesnt mean that acupuncture cannot help, in most cases it certainly can.
Hi Doula
Sorry about the ups and downs you been having, it must be soo frustrating, big hugs :hugs:
Have you thought about doing both together? there is nothing that says western and eastern medicine can't be complimentary. In fact some studies are showing that eastern medicine can really enhance western. Just make sure your medical doctor knows what herbs etc you are taking
I'm with the others though and if you only want to do one, I would go specialist first - its always good to know what your dealing with first.
Little toad, check with your specialist that you can drop of your DH's toadlets, see my post in the sperm testing, a clinic here refused to take it unless the DH dropped it off in person.
