Gidday
My four month old has a whine at 2am, but then feeds at around 4am. Only trouble is once were all sleeping nicely my husbands's alarm clock goes off and wakes us ALL up (Luca's in the cot in our room) at 6.30am. If Luca didn't wake up then I would just go back to sleep. But he just doesn't settle down.
I don't want to kick my husbo out, but anyone got any ideas as to how to solve this one?

I'd put the baby in a room of his own to be honest. Or maybe have your hubbies alarm set so that the radio comes on instead of the buzzer.
If possible, I would be putting bub in his own room which also has a single bed in it, so that you can snuggle down after the 4am feed and you can both sleep peacefully through dh getting up. It is only a temporary thing as bub will start sleeping a bit longer soon and maybe even drop one of the feeds, so it shouldn't be a disruption for too long.
As of next monday, my dh's alarm is going to be going off at 3:15 every morning:( ... he isn't the kind of person that willingly gets up when his alarm goes off, so I am dreading having to fight sleep to nag him to get out of bed and then be left wide awake myself! Luckily, my kids will sleep blissfully through anything as they are in their own rooms and are very deep sleepers.

put bubs in another room and get a baby monitor. my 4-week old has beem in his own room since i got out of hospital when he was 5days. me and my DF can get pretty loud (we fight 50% of the time, but we love each other too much), and he sleeps thu it.
thats about all i can suggest

Trust me, even if they are down the other end of the house, you will hear them, lol.
Mine slept through me vacuuming under their cots from day dot.....I don't know how they do it, I wake up for everything.
My sister used to sleep with a baby monitor by her bed as her dd slept upstairs and wondered why she had a terrible sleep. It wasn't until she had a friend babysit for her one night that she started to get a good night sleep and only got up to bub when she really needed her ... turns out, the friend had turned the baby monitor off and my sister ended up having a much better sleep as she wasn't being woken by every little snuffle or sneeze!
I have always slept with my door shut and my bubs were always put in the room furtherest away from me with thier door shut too ... I heard every little peep from them and was always in thier room before they had really started to cry ... I just think that most Mums almost have a radar like sense when it comes to thier child!
So, obviously, I think that baby monitors are a bit of a nuisance except for when bub is sleeping inside and you are outside in the garden etc!
And to train them to sleep with noise ... I put the wasing machine on as soon as I got home from hospital and would put a load on whenever it was bedtime (sometimes when they woke in the night too) and they settled into deep sleep really quickly ... I too could vacuum etc with bub asleep!
Now, if my kids are not setlling well at night ... on goes the washing machine and within minutes they are out to it! Still works even though they are now 5 and 3!
