Hello I have a question:

I am now 40 weeks, was due the 18th of June and have an appointment on Thursday to see the midwife about induction. I woke up yesterday morning with a sharp pain on my left side, that increased whilst moving and was especially bad (crippling) when standing up. It is slightly below my rib cage to the left of abdomen and is sharp/stitch like. If I am sitting or lying, the pain goes away (with an occasional throb from time to time) but movement and it can be severely painful. I am still feeling the baby moving (sometimes this contributes to pain). I wasn't sure if it was nothing as I spoke to a few people and they think it might be the baby kicking/moving around. I feel like it could be something worse or may not even be pregnancy related (ie. pancreatitis etc) IF you have gone through this before or know what it may be please let me know! I will be calling the doctor anyway in the morning but so far I have not been able to get anything from anyone about what it may be.

It could be the bub, hard to know. Can you ring the hospital and describe it - they are probably more like to understand the type of pain you describe. All the best

I will be but I was hoping to get some insight.. Just an addition to that - in terms of how far off my labour is.. well, no waters breaking, some show is happening and maybe mild contractions. I haven't had a lot of braxton hicks and this is my first pregnancy so I have no idea what to expect!!
I have no idea whether this baby is coming soon or not.. I really hope so

All the best and I hope you got some sleep. None of us knew what to expect with our first, and each one seems different, often. Let us know how you get on and hope your birth is a postive experience and your bubba gorgeous (they all are ;))
