:no:Hi Ladies

Im pregnant with twins and today i had my 18 week scan and they checked my cervix and its at 2cm long and the lady said it should be around 3+cm :no:now im worried sick that i might m/c.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so did you carry full term?
I had a m/c in 2008 at 20 weeks thats why im now so scared.

You have other children, so you can carry to term I assume.

I would just push for close, frequent monitoring since you have miscarried late before and you are carrying twins.

Good luck.

:hugs:Thanks
I had 4 natural babies and had no problems what so ever, then come 2008 i had a IVF baby and had a urine infection and lost him,im not sure if i had a cervix problem with him because no one checked my cervix.
Now back again to that stage of pregnancy and the worst part is i have a family holiday over seas booked for next Thursday.Im just panicing.

You need to speak with an Ob as cervix lengths under 2.6cm you are usually put on strict bed rest with weekly/fortnightly monitoring. Ultrasounds provide more accurate measurements then internal digital examination . :hugs:

My girlfriend had a stitch in and it all went perfectly. She had to take it easy, but she delivered a baby at term.

Try and rest as much as you can until the stitch goes in. Gravity adds to downward pressure, so lying down would be a good idea.

Thanks for your replys its sounding like a positive outcome having the stitch put in.Do you think i would be ok after having my stitch put in to still walk around like normal? because i have a holiday next week

I had a stitch placed at 14 weeks (scheduled rather than emergency) and carried my DD to nearly 41 weeks- The stitch was removed at 38 weeks.
The "rules" I was given were- No sex, No baths (increases risk of infection), No heavy lifting, and not to spend large amounts of time on my feet (I think they said for every half hour I am on my feet I needed to sit down for 10 minutes or something).
It was only after my cervix length dropped down to 1.3 cm and was funnelled to the stitch that they told me not to walk around as usual.
Good luck, I have my fingers crossed for you, and hope you have a positive outcome like I did!
