Hi girls

I am at wits end at the moment. Bub is currently breastfed and 8 weeks old. I am returning to work soon and won't always be able to express so I need to have a backup and get her used to formula now with one bottle a day.

Well I have tried 3 now and she has a severe reaction to it. About 2 hours later she really throws up her entire feed until she can't bring up anything anymore. It is really horrible watching her for that hour that she is not well. she cries and there is nothing I can do to help her.

I only give her 10-30ml at a time, because the first time I gave her a full bottle, she was bad for a whole day and couldn't keep anything down, so I had to feed her every 15 min a little bit of expressed milk. Now I give the little bit formula and then top up with 5-10min of breastfeeding.

Brands I have tried

NAN Pro GOld
S26 Gold
Karricare HA-AR

ANybody have same issues, I am so scared to try another one for fear of same reaction.

Cheers
D

It sounds a little like a dairy intolerance but the fact that she is breast fed with no problems . My DS had problem on Nan but is good on the NA HA gold it is a bit more gentle on there tummys as its more broken down, it may take a little time for her tummy to get used to it as its something differant. We had problems on the Karicare HA AR to but he is fine with the Karicare thickner added into his Nan. You could maybe try the lactose free formula

Hi, we tried S26 Gold with our bub and she also threw it all up the 3 times we tried. She is three months old and has been fed on expressed breast milk for the last three months as she just won't attach, but I am coming to the end of full time pumping!
We have just in the last 2 days started trying NAN HA gold, a friend suggested as it is more broken down, and she is doing really well with it - she has now had maybe 4 feeds over the last 3 days (easing her off breast milk over time) and seems as healthy as normal so it could be worth a try? hope it sorts out :)

You can buy soy formula off the shelf but maybe consult doc first

I agree with both posters...try lactose free, soy or even goats milk...a bit of warning with goats milk though the poos are apparently strong in smell...
