Hi everyone!
I was just wondering about what age you put the seat up in the pram?
Brayden is a pretty strong baby and seemed pretty happy to sit up for a while and check out the sights, I just don't know if it puts too much strain on their backs??
Thanks

Hi
Sometimes I put my almost 5 month old in the pram with the seat up. If he's especially alert and awake he loves it. Usually though i just put him in it with the seat down and put a small cushion in it to prop him up enough to look out and around, but still reclined enough that he can go to sleep comfortably if he wants to. THe upright position is VERY upright in our pram and there is no in between, its right up, or right down.
I have found that its better to keep the upright position to short trips as he gets frustrated eventually.

My pram has 4 levels of incline and I sit my 16wko daughter slightly upright so she can look around her. I've only done that in the last week or so.
My pram is a mountain buggy and can be put to any level. My bub has been in upright position from early, about 10 weeks. He doesnt sleep during the day and would get bored and frustrated lying down.
He is now 19 weeks and spends most of his time upright, he loves looking around at everything- trees, waves, dad fishing and the dog.

I started propping Libby up at about 3 months as she was so interested in everything, but only for short periods at a time. If she slumped over too much to one side, or started complaining then I would lay back the seat straight away. Just go with what your bub wants, as long as you keep an eye on him/her, it'll be fine. ;)

the first time Zack sat upright(not just an incline, we did that quite early) in the pram was all thanks to Dad... i had a heart attack, thinking that it would be bad for his back. however, he loved it for short periods as he could see what was going on. it was around four months and he was really strong - easily pulling himself to sitting while holding our fingers and was tring to pull himself up when put anywhere on an incline and getting very frustrated. i think if bub seems happy and comfy then it is probably fine. i also ran it by my MCHN at the time and she also said it was fine.
