first of all my poor little girl has a cold and cant breath very well through the nose. im using all what i can!

vicks on the feet and chest and back. (she can tolerate it now thankfully. she has had problems when younger due to eczema) she is also teething

due to not being able to breath she cant feed to sleep. so there she is being really upset coz she cant have "boob" and i start patting and singing (this have NEVER worked in the past)


and you know what happened.





for the first time in 14.5months she went to sleep

part of me was jumping hooray but part of me was like :crying: :o

just wanted to share.


p.s will this effect my supply or will she just build it up when she is well again?

Cool! It is a bit of a shock when they don't feed to sleep, isn't it? In all of DS's 2.4 years I can count on ONE HAND the number of times he hasn't fed to sleep.

By the way, have you tried Fess Little Noses to clear her blocked nose? We use the adult spray bottle Fess with DS when he has colds and we suck out the mucus with the squeezer thing you get with the Little Noses dropper. Works a treat.

I agree re: the fess drops for her nose. Worth a try if she will let you! DS won't let me anywhere near him. I can get the drops in if DH and I pin him down, but we can't sucker the snot out. The saline seems to work well on it's own though.

Your supply will be fine. :) You might just feel a bit uncomfortable/full. Maybe you could express if that's the case and mix it in to her food or something, if her appetite for solids is not so bad?
I think the nature of these things is that they make up for what they miss out on! Next week she'll be BFing like it's going out of fashion!

Anyhow, you have the best medicine of all for clearing blocked noses, BREASTMILK....either express some off and syringe it in, or if you have a good aim, squirt some up her nostrils.

Trust me, all my kids have been copping a big ole squirt of booby milk up there nose lately, they think its quite Ewww but are happy with the results :D

Oh yes - breastmilk up the nose :yes: I can recommend that too. It works a treat!
