Hello Ladies

Not sure where to post my question, here in the 'ttc and conception' section or the 'pregnancy and testing results' section...maybe both

But I need to ask, how long did it take for you to get your first BFP?

We are actively TTC for a long time now (2nd pregnancy) and right now I am 8DPO (pretty sure).

I also had some symptoms which lead to think its pregnancy, although very early stages still.

But all this could also just be very very early symptoms of AF arriving, as I feel very crampy; Like Af will arrive in any minute. This is the biggest symptom thats making me think I am pregnant as its way too early for me to get pre-menstrual symptoms, but any-way, other symptoms that follow are an increase & cloudy cm (tmi sorry :o), ovary pain, sore & sensitive breast, dull back ache, tiredness, head aches, on and off nausea, runny nose, increase saliva, terrible metal taste in mouth... Don't think I have left any thing out (LOL). No implantation bleed like last time (ended up in an early loss in '08), which makes me think this all may not end up in a pregnancy either.

Being a 2nd pregnancy, you would think I would know what to look out for by now, but I am so confused. Maybe looking too much into it!

So I have been trying to find out the earliest that I could see two lines.

I didn't show up a BFP till my first day of missed period with my preg with twins, even at 3 weeks gestation showed a BFN. Because it happened once like this, doesn't mean I can assume all my pregnancies will happen the same as the previous, right?

I have Forelife ultra plus early pregnancy test here, measures 10mIU/ml (7 days after conception takes place). Not sure if this is a good brand and if it has shown any false -ve or false +ves with any one. Any ideas, any one?

I want too test, really do but I can't now - its so disappointing seeing that BFN all a time and it seems so early, if I am pregnant??? (And I have had a false BFP too, but not with this brand as mention above).

Feel very foolish if this all ends being just another month of Af

Thanks for your help in advance and reading this long-ish post

Kitty

Zada, yep I agree, was going to wait till Monday any way, about 11 dpo but as my cramping stopped today (other symptoms still hanging around), not sure if I should just wait for Af to arrive now.

Blessedmummy, what a relief you understand what I am going through. Phew :D ! Yep, keeping busy is a good idea.

Thanks lots :)

Hey,

I used a First Response Test on the day AF was due and got a BFN (just a few weeks ago!). However, I was still fairly sure I had symptoms (hard to know whether you're convincing yourself or not with the second pregnancy, isn't it?!) so tested again 4 days after it was due, with a different brand, and got a very, very faint BFP. So unless AF arrives, you're in there with a chance ;) Terrible having to wait to find out though!

Sounds promising though - good luck hun! :fingerscrossed:

Just got back from being away and thought I'd give you all an update...

...At about approx 12 DPO I tested with Forelife ultra plus early pregnancy test and got a definite BFN, at that point I promised my self never to test early again, ever... it was so heart breaking especially after all the symptoms I was getting.

I tested again on the 1st day of my (missed) period- day 24, exactly a week later and got a :bfp:... I couldn't believe it, so I tested again, just in case it was all wrong, but yep there it was the two blue lines again on the 2nd test. Then it was down to the Dr for confirmation and the test at the med centre showed positive in 5 seconds flat. Wa-hoo!

DH and the kids are over the moon and I am still in shock... I can't believe its happened- 5 years of waiting!
