I bought a Bjorn Synergy when Jasper was just a few weeks old, being told that it was for up to 12kilos, which would see us through Jasper's first year.

Jasper has just tipped over the 10kilo mark at 7 months, and I would still like to carry him from time to time.

I'm seriously thinking about selling my Bjorn and buying an Ergo,as I understand it has a higher weight ability and also being used as a backpack will be easier than a front carrier for much GIANT BABY!!!

I paid a crazy $225 new for my bjorn synergy... I can sell on ebay for about $100. Then buy an ergo new on ebay for about $100... so... no loss there.

I just feel like I'm losing $125 of value in that transaction though, you know? I'd be devasted if DS doesn't like the ergo, I'll have feel like I've wasted the money and I will have other babies.

Maybe I should keep the bjorn, buy the ergo - then decide which one to keep and which one to sell?

What would you do?

I'd keep the bjorn just in case he doesn't take to the ergo. If he doesn't take to the ergo just re-sell it (at least you'll then still have the bjorn).
I'm going through something similar but in reverse (dd won't take to the ergo), but I'm holding on to ALL carriers as they're such a god send and I couldn't be without at least one. DH also prefers the BB so I guess that's hear to stay for a while!
Good luck.- great that Jaspwe is such a healthy boy :)

I went through the whole multiple carrier thing...and the money loss...so frustrating! It's one of those things with babies, you sort of accept they are a money pit!:D

The end result is that I have a BB Air and an Ergo.

I'd be surprised if your baby won't take to the Ergo as they are similiar positions. I carry my 8.5 month year old almost every day in the Ergo.

I don't know whether to sell my BB now. I was going to keep it for another baby (which is likely years away, if ever) but I might just sell it... I did like it for when he was a little baby.

We're on our third baby carrier now (the Ergo) and it is such a pain trying to find a suitable one!
If I were you, I would keep the Baby Bjorn and buy the Ergo. You can always sell the Baby Bjorn later once bubs is happy with the Ergo, but it should be okay.
Remember as well that bubby might slim down a bit once he starts walking around, so you could get your year's worth in the Baby Bjorn anyway!

Thanks ladies.

I think that I will just look at buying a Ergo and still keep the Bjorn.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's bought multiple carriers.

I was feeling really ridiculas about having 3 prams until I confessed to some mums and they all admitted to having had 3, 4, 7 prams before finding one they liked!

If I get an Ergo it wil be carrier no 3 for me as I have a wrap, which I do like, but, still the main issue is I need to put my 10 kilos of baby on my back!!!

3 prams and 3 carriers for one baby! Its a teenie bit excessive.
