You can use canasten.... i did.. and it worked a treat.... i used the applicator i just was careful as the doctor instructed and didn't place the applicator too deep. But it is perfectly safe to use during pregnancy!

You can use yoghurt it has to be natural and contain active cultures but do not use an applicator further than the entrance of the vagina.

Does this apply to discharge that isn't actually causing an itch or anything? (sorry TMI :o)

My Dr said it was fine to use the applicator too, but make sure if canesten doesn't clear it up that you go to the Dr and get them to check what it is - there are some other similar nasty infections out there.

JB, if it's not itching I wouldn't do anything!

Yep. You sure can. I am using it at the moment under instructions from my doc. Also advised by doctor that it is totally safe to use the pessaries aswell but just don't use the applicator.

I am 18 weeks at the moment and have had thrush since finding out i was pregnant. Finally i had enough and went and seen my doctor yesterday as the cream would only clear it up for a day or two and then the itching would start again ( i suspected that i had it internally aswell but wasn't sure about the pessaries whilst pregnant). Also found out that i have it orally so no wonder i couldn't clear it up. Hopefully it will all be clear in the next week.

Janet.
