I'm new!!

Hi there
i'm new to this forum. I'm a bit worried and just wanted to chat to some others!! I'm 37 and have been diagnosed with 3 fibroids, one of them possibly caused me to miscarriage at 5 weeks. My doctor has advised me to get them removed so i'm booked in for an abdominal myomectomy in 3 weeks. Getting a tad nervous now!! She told me recovery is 6 weeks & that's when we can start trying again. It's put us behind a bit but I guess it's better then something happening to the baby.

Hi there and welcome!

All the best for your op and try not to be worried, from what I understand it is quite a straightforward procedure. Years ago my stepmother had that same operation to have the fibroids removed (I beleive it was diagnosed shortly after a miscarrage too). 8 weeks later she was pregnant and then had my little sister (her first child) at 43 years of age - so don't worry you still have plenty of time!

I am sure you will be able to find others on here that have gone through the same things and will be able share their experiences with you.
I suggest you perhaps start a new thread, with the title "abdominal myomectomy - has anyone had this done? (or something like that) in one of the other sections that more people read and I'm sure you will be able to find someone to talk to, to calm your fears.
Anyway, look forward to hearing how it all works out for you.
