Hey all,

DS (2yo) has been off for a few days - a little bit of a temp, pretty tired and cranky, and not really interested in food. We took him to the GP last night who said it's probably a virus. He has been heaps better today though.

Today I have noticed some white blisters on his inner lower lip. I have checked his hands and feet for spots etc (hand foot and mouth) but I can't see anything. They might well be "sucking" blisters as he is sucking on his lip a little at the moment.

Can anyone think of any other viruses that have mouth blisters? The GP said of he kept his temp down today (which he has) he would be ok for daycare on Wednesday. Of course I won't take him if he is still unwell, but if they are just sucking blisters (from his own actions IYKWIM) then there is no reason NOT to take him.

Any ideas?

When DS had HF&M he only had it in his mouth.....

Could it just be normal ulcers? They often come with a virus, and if he broke the skin in that area the virus is likely to get in and form ulcers if his immune system is down.

Thanks ladies. They seemed to have gone down today - they are almost just like bits of extra skin now IYKWIM.

He isn't well still, but he has improved so I think if he isn't completely better by tomorrow I will take him back to the docs.
