How do you fall asleep?
Sorry was trying to add a poll.
Do you sleep with a tv on?
Do you listen to music?
Do you watch movies?
Just fall asleep?

I close my eyes and within 10 minutes I'm asleep. On the rare occasions that my thoughts won't switch off I focus on each breath in and out (a meditation technique my aunty taught me) and that works every time.

I just do. lol.

I lay in bed, snuggling with DP... and drift off. I used to have heaps of difficulty switching off before I was with DP. It would take me hours, and then my sleep would be bad quality anyway.

Probably not the best of ideas, but I'd take mersyndol night if I couldn't sleep. Only thing that knocks me out... if it was taking far too long to sleep, I'd just have one of those. Made my brain switch off and gave me a good nights sleep.

I read first. I generally find it quite hard to fall asleep without reading first - it makes my eyes all heavy and then I just drift off. Always done it that was for as long as I've been able to read! :D

If my mind is racing, I think back to my childhood house and try to remember all the rooms, the carpet, the furniture etc. It keeps my mind focused on one thing and I just drift off.

For about 6 weeks or so after Jasper was born I slept most nights on the couch with the TV on all night, as I couldn't sleep at all. I ended up sleeping with Jasper on the couch also, as how could I ask a newborn baby to self settle to sleep when I couldn't do it myself!!!

Now I'm not so stressed I just read for 10 minutes, close my eyes and I'm gone. Its much better - no more sore back from the couch!

Usually with my eyes shut:D

I don't have tv or music in my bedroom. Just dark and quiet . If I am having trouble sleeping I use a relaxation technique I learned where you tense and then relax every muscle in your body, working up from your toes. I rarely make it past my thighs.

In summer, can't do it without the fan on- I love the hum.

But in winter, I just drift off. It's lovely.

If only my children were the same...
