I Lost my Job today

My ex boss took me into her office today and told me that i no longer have a job. It all started when she asked me for my office key because they were changing the locks, i didnt even think that she was going to tell me i no longer have a job.

She asked me into her office, and said your 3 months is up, and i was going to do this last week but i wanted you in the office while i was away. (god i feel used). She said you would suit a bigger real estate office, and there is no room for 2 property managers here... WHY DID SHE EVEN GIVE ME THE JOB????

If it's any consolation, things are pretty bleak in the real estate industry on the east coast at the moment. A lot of agencies are having to let people go because there just isn't the turnover to justify the numbers of staff they employed during the boom. Sellers have extremely high expectations and aren't open to dropping their prices, buyers are either waiting to see what happens or completely unable to afford buying. They're not having kids either so rental demand is hard to predict. At the moment, vacancy rates are low but it can change almost literally overnight. The small agencies are always the first to suffer during a downturn so your ex-boss was right, you might be better off looking at a bigger agency but, to be honest, try something other than real estate right now.

Ah, what a bummer.

A friend of mine lost her job a couple of weeks ago. She was upset of course but she kept her head up and started looking for another job instead of sitting around moping.

So follow her lead, because guess what? she just started a new job today, better company and more money for less hours.

It will work out better for you in the end too, if you stay strong. Don't let the b*stards get you done, isn't that the saying?

Maybe it was a good thing,... I went for a interview last week, as i was very bored there, and they rang me this afternoon and i have another interview tomorrow!!! :smiliedance: I told them what happened and they said that was wrong with what they done.

Yep you were used, she obvioulsy just wanted someone to fill in while she was away and put you on with that in mind.
