My left breast is really sore & tender :( especially if MJ puts any weight on it at all. its been like it since yesterday. I have tried to feed more off that side which is making it feel heavier. I normally mainly feed from that side of a day & the other at night.

Should I just keep an eye on it & see what happens or go see someone straight away? Its just so sore all over, even under my arm :crying:

(In my Teachers Voice) Go and see someone!!

Now as normal old me: Have a nice warm shower - perfect for a miserable day like this and massage the breast.

Hope you are feeling better soon :hugs:

Keep and eye on how you are feeling. If you begin to feel flu like symptons it may have become mastitis and you will need to see a Dr as soon as you can to get some meds to clear it up. A warm compress before you feed from that side, massage the sore spot down towards the nipple and a cold compress after may help relieve it alittle.
I hope it starts to feel better soon.

Thing is I've been bf for 13 months now & this is the first time i've had anything like it. I'll try the warm washers tonight & if its like it tomorrow i'll go up to the clinic as there is a bf support drop in. Its still really tender now, no actual spot though, its the whole thing.

Thanks

I had mastitis once and it hit out of the blue.

Firstly my left breast became tender, then quite sore, then I couldn't hold bubs as my whole chest seemed so sore (this happened over a period of about 3 hours). I used a heatpack and tried to feed through it which was just impossible.

Later in the afternoon, I started to get a headache and I tried a warm shower and massage (OW! ). At about midnight, I woke up with a cracker of a temperature - shivering but burning up. I took some panadol and slept on the couch. By morning, it had pretty much subsided although my breast was still quite tender for a few days.

Catch it early and you can get through it without medication. But if you feel really bad, hightail it to the Dr and get it looked at.

I hope it goes away without incident !:hugs:

I'm feeling a lot better today so decided not to go to the clinic. No point if the pains not there.

Thanks again

There was a few times I was like that, I would just get in a warm shower and try expressing the sore side, this seemed to help whether it was a blocked duct or something i dont know, but it worked for me
