View Full Version : homeschooling qu's
I'm looking into homeschooling my dd (4) for prep next year:). I am considering going through the groves school in qld, has anyone had any experiences with them that they could share? Im also looking for a homeschooling playgroup kinda thing as my dd loves playing with other kids outside our family, does anyone know of one in the redlands area of qld? I've tried joining the south east qld homeschooling yahoo group but can't get into that for some reason:no:.
We went through Groves for the 2 years we homeschooled and found them to be EXCELLENT...they are very helpful :) They even travelled all the way out here (4 hours away) to do home visits.
YOu can choose your curriculum and your assigned teacher will go through everything with you and help you choose the right one.
That Yahoo group has heaps of homeschoolers on it, I wonder why you can't get on....do you have to be approved? I can't remember.....maybe you just have to message someone. I will see f I can find out.
There is a homeschooling playgroup in Brissie for young kids....I will just message a couple of friends on facebook and get back to you:)
I have applied twice to be approved by the group and got no response which is weird, maybe just takes awhile lol
where is the playgroup in brissie? as of next year i prob won't have access to a car so that will affect us abit too but am quite willing to travel via public transport :).
Got to say that I never heard of Groves. We are just pretty much making it up as we go (following the Departmental Guidelines, of course).
I have 3 at home learning and enjoying being kidlets.
Good luck with your homeschooling journey.
Perhaps check out Home Educators Australia (HEA) as a resource. I found then to be very helpful.
Have just pm'ed you, Suz. We are in Mt Cotton.
