Hi Everyone,
Just wondering if any one knows of a generic brand of panadol that taste better than normal panadol.
Max refuses to take panadol even though it's better for fevers. He much prefers Nurofen but I'm concern that it upsets his tummy as he always has runny bowel movements after.
Hope you can help.
Cheers
Jacinta :)

you can talk to your local compounding pharmacist and ask them to make you something suitable. ours does a flavor free sugar free version.

My kids both refused panadol but would take Nurofen too. I got some of the strawberry flavoured panadol (apparently a lot of kids don't like the orange flavoured one) & got 1 out of 2 of my kids to take it!

There is one we used to get that apparently is less bitter (I think it was Dymadon), but neither of my kids liked that either (it was also orange flavoured).

The chemist should be able to point you in the right direction. Their own brand might be worth a shot too.

Dymadon  its paracetamol exactly the same as panadol, the one I have for dd is lemonade flavoured or something  either way dd takes it no hassles.

I had the same problem with DD she used to gag and throw up with the panadol.

She is now over 1 so I give her the 1-12? panadol I think it is and it tastes heaps better and not bitter..I know thats not much help to you tho...

Good luck finding a different kind.

My DD is the same. Hates Panadol!

I get the Orange Flavour Dymadon  She will take that.

Panamax is the generic version, but it is cherry flavoured. It is even on the PBS scheme (if you get a script from your doctor) but the baby strength one is only $3.75, so no cheaper.

Dymadon.

You can buy it over the counter from any chemist. It's used exactly like panadol- for fevers, teething, etc.

Panadol never worked for my boys, and they often spat it out.

Dymadon has been my best friend during teething and temps!!

We use Dymadon on empty tummies and Nurofen only on a full tummy. I actually find Nurofen more effective, but will only give it on a full stomach as it can be quite harsh.
