We used cloth while out for the day this week, first time .
The very first nappy change I had a lady changing her daughter on the next change table over just staring at me. I kept changing Ds and just smiled etc. After I finished she looked up confused and said "Can I ask, what was THAT?"
How come so many mums still don't know about these!! lol

I think it's fairly obvious what 'That' is, I mean if it looks like a nappy and it came off a baby butt then it's probably a nappy.
I really haven't seen many mums out who have cloth bum babies (mind you I haven't changed a baby bum in about 4 years so haven't had a reason to be in the parent room). I didn't know about MCN's until after I'd finished using terry flats. It wasn't widely advertised and I didn't have the internet but these days they're everywhere on parenting forums and baby goods websites so I don't know how you could miss it.
Did you tell her how great they are and how much money you've saved?

That brought a really big smile to my face!

If it hadn't been for bubhub, this would have been me!!! I would have had my bubs in sposies and completely ignorant to the cloth nappy revolution! I still thought everyone used terry flats and pilchers! If it weren't for clicking on the babybeehinds banner advertised at the top of bubhub one day, I wouldn't have ever known about MCNs. Now I think they're SO cute, and SO good for bubs and environment that I will be using them!

its amazing...i think that those who have access to online parenting forums and web aware tend to be the ones who know about it. i have had people ask me what i have on DD's bottom at a mothers group i attend at an alternative school....so i was pretty shocked to find that they were only aware of terry flats. i also asked my local baby shop to stock something other than peapods, she was gobsmacked when i told her peapods were umm not the greatest and assured her that if she stocked some of the better commercial nappies she would have people come near and far to purchase off her (as we all hate to pay postage!)

Very true
I had always known about mcn's probably from working with babies for so long, however I'd always been under the misconception that they actually cost MORE than disposables until I started researching. Once I found out otherwise I was hooked!
I did try terry flats and pilchers and absolutely hated them (to my mother and grandmothers disgust) But after months of trying to persuade myself I ended up giving up and had him in sposies 24/7 until now.
Congrats on using cloth while out. I used to put disposables on DS whenever we went out but I use cloth with DD and wonder why I was ever worried.
I have a friends/family who want to watch me change DD so they can check out the hot pink nappies. Even DHs grandmother was impressed. A family member commented on Saturday about the cool noise they make when you pat their bottoms.
