I have noticed reading through the posts that most people have thier change tables in thier childs room. Just wondering if I'm the only one who has thiers in the lounge room?? I would find it extremely inconvienient to have to go to the bedroom every time I wanted to change a nappy. Am I odd and the only one out there, or are there others that have them somewhere other than the bedroom??

I used to have it in the loungeroom for dd, but with bub no 2 comming it's in our bedroom, where bub will be for the first few months, because if I left it anywhere else it would be destroyed and nappy cream would be painted everywhere by the tornado on legs (my dd lol)
At least this way also for late night changes I won't have to leave the bedroom.

eta. we use an old style change table too not a wooden one so it hasn't supported the weight of dd for awhile now, she just gets changed on the floor somewhere with a cloth underneath her.

It's in the child's room. I know people that have theirs in the bathroom.
We wouldn't fit it anywhere else but DD2's room....but I would never choose to have it in the loungeroom even if it was a possibility. For me it is a piece of bedroom furniture. I wouldn't want to change a really stinky nappy in the loungeroom and have the smell fill the whole room....especially if we had guests over.

It's in our sons bedroom. But that's only a few metres from the main living area of the house. If it was a long way away then I might consider having it somewhere else. When he was little I'd change him wherever usually on a change mat on the floor.

At my mum's house she only has one change area in one of the bedrooms, but she has up to 3 grandchildren asleep at once (she babysits for us all) and so if that's the case she puts the mat & change supplies on a table in the family room.

I change him on my lap. :o Living in a double garage really has it's downside, like having no room for a change table.:crying:

I never had a change table but I had a change mat because I found it easier to change the baby on the kitchen bench on top of a padded change mat after my c-section, and when the kids where older i just changed them on my bed

We have it in her bedroom. I wouldn't have even thought to put it in another room.

It is in bubs room. There is no room for it anywhere else.

We have it in DS's bedroom too. Our house is quite small, and there's no where else for it to really be. The only way we can change him is on it too, he's a bit of a wriggly worm! I don't have the bin in there though. When he's in disposables, they go straight into the outside bin.

ours is in dd'd room at the moment but im thinking of moving it inot the playroom when she goes into a big bed so there is a bit more room in her tiny bedroom

I don't even have one! We had one and it just got used to put stuff on top of.... We just use the floor or the bed! I think bubs only used it a handful of times to be honest!

We have one in her room (which doubles as a chest of drawers) and one in the bathroom. If I had to choose, I would choose the bathroom because water is right there (we don't use wipes).

We have ours in the bathroom, and cos it's a chest of drawers as well, when she is TT I'll move it to her room. I find it convenient for changing her to get in and out of the bath, and when she was a newborn I'd place her baby bath on top of it.
it's convenient for if we have a nappy failure too!

I have a change table in his bedroom upstairs, and a change table set up on the table in the loungeroom downstairs so I dont have to go upstairs everytime I change a nappy - its also useful when family is over, my sister uses it with her son..

For the first few months it was downstairs in our lounge/ dining area as it was obviously easier than always going upstairs just to change nappies as both my boys slept down here during the day.

After that when nap times changed to block periods it went between the nursery & the bathroom ( next to each other ) as it had the bath & it was easier to have it in the bathroom when it was bath time !

I have one in DS's bedroom (hopefully not for much longer)
and one in our bedroom where DD is sleeping...

At night - I just change her in bed though.

It is just easier that way - all their clothes are within reach etc ... Just became a 'routine'

Ours in in DS's room, it is combined with his draws so it would look really out of place anywhere else, we have A spare change mat downstairs also, that I use on the bench/floor or if we visit people.

I have one of those small change mats made from waterproof backed fleece and a small bowl of water, [we use washable wipes]. She gets changed wherever she is. These days it's often whilst in motion across the livingroom floor!

We had one think it's under my mum's house right now but any way I changed them all on the floor on a rug much safer

:iagree: and it would annoy me for night changes to have to pick bub up and go out to the loungeroom.

When DD had one, it was in her room.

Apart from the fact that there was no room for it in the lounge room, I didn't want for that to be a place for me to change nappies. Guests visiting didn't need to be subjected to that... if they were willing to be, they could follow me to DDs room.

Unless I had a 2 storey home, with bedrooms upstairs and living areas downstairs (or something like that), I wouldn't ever put it anywhere BUT the childs' bedroom (unless I had a playroom, which it also may go in).

We don't have one... but we have a change "station" of sorts set up in the lounge where I put the day's worth of folded nappies ready to use, plus wipes, cream, handwash and the nappy bin and benchtop tidy bin.

We use a change mat on the floor to actually change him on though, and move the mat to our bedroom at night along with a couple of nappies and the two bins. We already have an extra tub of wipes etc in the bedroom for changes there.

I have one, one of those ones that you lift the change table and the baby bath is underneath, when bub was born it was used only to bath her in the bathroom...now its in my room (which is her room too :p) i store all my cloth nappies in the trays, and on top i have piles of my clothes that have no where to go because bub has over run my wardrobe  So yep i have one, but nope i have never used it as a change table!

I change her on my bed.
