Not sure about the tropical flavour but we changed to plain neocate advance and my son was having trouble with it. I think it was the concentration-there is much more powder to the same amount of water-he even vomited once. So at the moment we are mixing both (fortunately I had some of the old stuff left over) and he is taking 2/3 of advance and 1/3 of normal neocate and he is fine. I am slowly increasing the amount of advance until he is fully on it. I think some babies need to take it slow.

It is possible that its the flavouring if she was going ok on the unflavoured ...

Otherwise if the formula is a new thing itself then it could be that its causing a tummy upset.

Neocate Advance has greater calories because its meant for older kids as a total nutrition if need be so being that its fuller than the regular Neocate then it can often cause a lo's gut to freak a bit iykwim !

G took a good few months to cope with the change over ... It wasnt so much behavioural or the likes it was his bowel coping with the extra calories.

thanks reAllytee you always give good advice about this stuff  her calory intake has been much higher than usuall as i was told by the dietition to add extra oils to her food to up her calorie intake so she is having that and the neocate.

i tried her back on the plain last night an omg she slept she hasnt slept past 3am for 2 weeks and its been a strugle to get her to sleep but last night was great

Blimey, neocate comes in tropical these days! I remember trying to get it inot prem babies years ago and ending up putting chocolate milkshake powder into it just to make it palatable, [this was for short gut syndrome - not allergies, obviously!]. But I reckon whatever makes it tropical is the likely culprit.

Its not the baby one !

Its the Advance which is for 12mths & up !

And yep I know sometimes its a case of doing something, anything with flavouring to get them to take it !
