Morning All,

I am a newbie considering using cloth for our bub and I was hoping for some advice from more experienced hubbers.

I wanted to know how you manage using cloth and sending your child to day care?? We won't be sending our little one until he/she is about 12 months and then they will be going full time. If the centre is unwilling to accommodate cloth then this would pretty much mean that bubs would be going disposable mon-fri. :( Has anyone else had this happen. Do you just use cloth part-time? What is the best way to convince the child care centre to accommodate cloth?

I know I have a long time to think about it but I would hate to build up a great stash only to have it go to waste.

It wouldnt be going to waste - u'll still get 12 months out of them at least. I am a part time cloth user, disposables are used when in daycare 2 days a week. I dont find it too bad as at least im not using too many disposables, its better than using them everyday. I'm sure if i asked my carer would use them but as im still learning about them also, im going to wait until im a bit more confident in them. maybe just ask around at different centres til u find one that will allow them. Family daycare might be an easier option as there are less kiddies, so more time for each kid.

When i enrolled DD, i took a nappy and a wetbag with me, and showed them how easy they were. Once they realised they go on like a disposable and they only had to put the dirty nappy in the bag, they were fine with it! The girls love seeing what nappies DD comes to daycare with! I think its all about educating them before they get the chance to say no!

I havent got any problems with my day care and using cloth just have to instruct them but I send the simple ones like itti's so its idiot proof essentially. You can always use the argument of sensitive skin and irritations to disposables!! :D
