Hi everyone

I have a 4 month old who has intolerances to dairy proteins, wheat and soy. (Tested)
he is on Neocate and has been for the last 6 weeks. Recentley I have been having trouble with his reflux for which he takes Zantac for. His spitting up is continuous and he is rarely happy sitting by himself with the 'wanting' to be held (comfort?). Tge spit ups range from straight projectile milk to straight watery spit.

Any suggestions for reducing the amount of spit ups? It has been a hard road from the beginning but this just feels like we are back at the start again!

cheers for your help in advance

You may have to look at whether he has other issues as he may be reacting to the Neocate which has a different base to the likes of Elecare .... This could be one thing but another could be that his Reflux has flared again which is common & may need to have his dosage checked or may even need a change of meds.

Its a bugger huh .... Some days it feels like you take one step forward & then a week later its 3 steps back !

Hang in there :hugs::hugs:

Thanks Reallytree

just an update.. I made the 3.5 hour drive to the childrens hospital because I had had enough.
He is now on Losec and what a huge difference! No longer on Neocate but we are trying different formulas. The last 24hours hasnt't been the best, but we will see how goes. I am going to try him on NAN HA... fingers crossed b/c the hospital had him on S26 and I believe it is causing more problems then its worth!
cheers

Hi There I use Nan Ha Gold with Karicare Thickner which has worked really well for my baby and her reflux I have also started to use Dr Brown's bottles which are designed for babies withColic etc and help prevent spitting up and wind etc I use these with a Y Teat as using thicker formula. Since I have started usiing these bottles we have had hardly any issues. If that helps.
