thanks fickwalker...hows little gia going? isnt her next surgery soon? we have been thinking about u guys. feel free to add me to facebook im kati ana, with a pic of buttons last scan.
as for us, no more bleeding... thank god, bought a new house............me thinks button will arrive before we move but doesnt matter. DP has finally bought everything for button and now has nothing more to buy ....lol... im sure she will find something....the legs are swelling nicely and im as huge as a house and still nauseaous but it will be all worth it when button arrives :)

Just wanted to say GOODLUCK with bringing button into the world!! It is the most amazing day, one you will never forget and life will never be the same! I can't wait to here the good news!!
I am happy to say I am now mum to a lil (some wld say not so little as he was born 8 pound 12 and a half ounces!!) boy called Bailey. He turns 4 weeks today!

Gia is doing really well. Her second surgery was on the 28th of November and she's been recovering really really well. She just amazes me every single day. :) Have tried looking for you on Facebook, but can't seem to find you. You can find me using the email address: hiatusboyfriend at gmail dot com. I post way too many pictures of Gia. :)
Pinkgirls - In our family, we call DP Mummy and me, Mama. It works because DP is Australian and I'm Serbian, so I grew up calling my mum, Mama. :) Congratulations on Bailey!
8pound12and a half ounces......awww thats tooo cute, we are going the mum and mummy route too and think when button gets here and is old enough, button will figure it out who is who, my dp is aussie so she is happy with mum, im chilean so im happy with mumma or mummy, whatever button thinks is fine...... contrary little button may even go totally different to mum/mummy... so its a wait and see for now.
im soo glad to here gia is doing well, kids are amazing the way they go thru challenges at such early times in there lives.

Update for us: DP has had the op for the removal of endometriosis and if all goes well we start the IVF process early next year. Nervous much????:yes:

AFM : tiredness is massive at the moment, me thinks baby goliath (button) isnt in the mood to head down, besides loves being up top close to the food source at meal times lol...... been kept busy with new house stuff, and now my fricken car rego is due!!!!!!!!!!!!! me thinks 2012 is gonna be huge.

I hear you regarding rego, my rego, green slip and insurance are all due in Jan (damn me for buying a new car in January) lol
But what i am going to do is pay for rego and green slip for only 6 months, so every year from the following 6 months rego and green slip will be due half way through the year and I will only have the car insurance due in Jan....
Button is officially head down getting ready for its grand arrival. sooo looking forward to meeting this long awaited little person....... we have bets on if we will be in our new house or not before the arrival.
we shall have to wait and see.

anyhow all good, LOVING the 3rd trimester, despite the massive scare we had earlier, now if only our house buying situation could run smoother and we are in there before buttons arrival, all would be perfect :)

BUTTON HAS ARRIVED!!!
Zoe was born 20-1-2012 at 3.19pm, by C Section. 3.4kg, 48cm long and a great head of dark hair. BOTH mummies are totally enchanted by this little girl, who has captured there hearts. Zoe's feeding well and sleeping well.
she is finally here, our little precious button :celebrate::celebrate:

I have only seen this thread for the first time today, and have spent half an hour reading through your journey. In many ways it is similar to mine, with the multiple OHSS and number of years of trying. I'm so pleased that your daughter has arrived, she will be loved and adored by both her mums.

thanks everyone we are sooooo loving this time and our little button....yes we still call her that.funny my mum still calls her button cos she has difficulty saying zoe, her accent gets in the way...so she says.... but i think its cute..lol

so where are we now......
we had EPU wednesday, and got 24 eggs, as of today we have 17 beautiful embryos waiting for mummy, transfer will be this saturday morning and we are feeling gr8 about it. im abit bloated. but drinking the gatorade type drink 24/7. we are doing our colorado type protocal. this cycle has been sooo quick and we have just gone with it, and so far so good. our little princess zoe has been sooo good , she sleeps thru, we truely have been blessed. if she wasnt so good we souldnt have been able to go thru the journey again soooo soon.

OMG i was there with little zoe, baby in a capsule, and my partner, we had transfer today 2 embys, they looked gr8, DP said one looks like twinnies....lol. we also have 14 frosties. omg if ure who i think u are, its nice to put a face to the name :D

Were you the couple waiting over at the house for a bit? When we were done we had to go back to the house to grab some blood forms. We were second to be done this morning.
Or do one of you have dreadlocks? If so I think I saw you at the hospital, but not today. What time was your transfer?
We now have 2 little 8 cell embies safe and sound, snuggling up and getting cosy (hopefully) in DP's belly!
We got 5 bubsicles. Wowzers! You guys got a truckload!

DP is having a while lot of nausea. Coupled with vomiting every morning and feeling bloated all the time.
Here's hoping these are all the right signs

as for us, my nausea has started today, ive been bloated for the last 2 days, and the hot flushes on and off. this is what happened around the same time with DD, and we got our BFP... so heres hoping history repeats itself.
i use to live in raby, and loooovee macarthur square, it really has come along way.

Yes! DP has been having sudden onset hot flushes too!
Her bloating has been very bad, causing her so much pain whenever she tries to move. So much so she has spent the last few days in bed. What do you do to help relieve the bloating?
We had DP's progesterone levels checked on Tuesday and Friday (post pregnyl) and it was 877 then 722, which works out to be about 52 and 45 per follicle. She has her last pregnyl shot tonight and then a bt on Friday.
Are you Friday too? Will you be poas?
i take panadol for the pain from the bloating, and u have to move, slowly but surely. it helps shift the fluid that is causing the pain..... oh and drink powerade/gatorade like CRAZY...we got the aldi version which is cheaper and same same. we too are due friday for bloods. pregnyl, last shot sunday night, is making my bloating and Shortness of breath worse too, OMG i can hear the effusion in my lungs, but its ok, its worse in the morning and after the shot. its a good sign, are u going to the clinic for bloods friday?? we may POAS, not sure yet..... we did with DD, but just so we could have them if they are BFP, but only take the bloods as the correct result, pregnyl can give a false BFP.
i cant wait....this 2WW is dragging...... besides im getting use to waddlling around with a 5 month old on my hip!!!!!!

Have been reading everyones post of late and wish you all luck for you 2ww.
There is a facebook group that is for Australia Lesbians Parents and as a closed group you can talk about IVF etc with everyone and no one outside the group will see your posts. I have found this very useful as only a select few FB friends know we are trying.

AfM : we just had our #22 cycle, bloods due tomorrow, but i POAS today and its a BFN, AF is due today, so basically waiting for the BWITCH to arrive..... we have frosties 14 waiting for us, which makes it abit easier i guess, i really didnt want to go thru a EPU again so soon after the last seeing ive only just started to get my breathing and bloating under control.
funny we didnt really expect this one to work, DD took 20 cycles!!!!!! what would be the odds of us getting a BFP first cycle TTC#2

It's not ours either. Our hcg level today is 4 so a chem preg. Now to wait for AF so we can cycle again.

What is a chemical pregnancy?
It's where there are the right hormones in the body, but they are not at sufficient levels to sustain a pregnancy. For example we had a HCG of 4, but for that dpo for it to be considered positive it should have been around 80-100.

Yep, full cycle (no more eggies left) DP got her periods yesterday, so due for the first blood test on the 24 July and collection of drugs. :eek:
this is it, the month of july os going to be full of BFPs. IVE DECIDED!!!!!!!!

We went for our first blood and scan of the cycle on Wednesday. Normally do had a really nice thick lining starting to grow and you can see it on the scan.
But for the scan on Wednesday nada. Nothing. Zip zero zilch. No lining at all.
So now we wait. It is most likely her body getting back into the swing of things after the chem preg. But still. After a week of Pom nothing at all.
Next bloods on Monday to see where her levels are at.
Good luck guys. Sorry to hear that things aren't behaving like they should.
We were there on wed too :-) eggies being very slow this cycle (our first attempt :-)) and not at all where I expected them to be, so missing some of dp's birthday trip to keep the cycle going. Now on puregon to give things a helping hand, and hopefully insem Monday or Tuesday, fingers crossed.
Hope everyone is as well as can be, I was really shocked at how disappointing even a small setback can be, I really need to toughen up!

If there's one thing I have learnt throughout the whole IVF process it's that... Anything can happen, good or bad. Don't ever expect anything, and always prepare yourself for the worst possible outcome. It is such a rollercoaster.

Going well. Linda got her periods late Friday and we started the Gonal (450 units this time) Tuesday night. Poor thing, she is feeling like a pin cushion again. We have bloods this monday morning and bloods and scan wednesday morning
Going up to the Imperial this saturday night for a swing dance night and will be packing the drugs in an excy with ice and shooting up in the carpark lol - it will be a great sight.
Hey! That sounds like our timings too! Cycle buddy here we come!

yep, she had 8 eggs last time (5 viable, 3 fertilized)
The LH levels are fine, no extra drugs needed (thank god) didn't feel like paying extra for drugs. DP is feeling extra bloated this time around, hope thats a good sign.

Yesterday went better than expected. One lovely 17mm follicle, got the call to trigger yday arvo. Came back down last night and off this morning for insemination :-) this is it !!!!

Update: Just had the scan, looking good, could have around 15 eggs this time around, will be given the drug luveris, Dr Anne hopes Linda doesn't need to take it, but apparently the LH test Monday was borderline (we didn't get told that) will find out more after the results of this blood test
From this, LH level had risen from 1.4 to 3.5
Back at FF today for another scan and bloods to find Out when collection is

Saizen is the human growth hormone to try and make stronger eggs since all of our bubsicles failed to thaw.

Different drug, the Luveris, which we've needed every time helps the eggs to mature properly.
The Saizen is supposed to add extra growth hormone which makes the resulting embryo stronger. As a woman ages her natural supply of GH depletes leading to less in her eggs. So this is supposed to make up for that.
Katiana: what was your donor number?

Home now, 13 eggs retrieved. Now waiting for the phone call to see the amount that are viable to use.
Hi all.
Our EPU went well today. 15 eggs. We're really happy with that number.
We hadn't heard from our clinic by 4.15 and DP was starting to get anxious and worried that none were suitable so I phoned them.
Of our 15 eggs, 13 were suitable for ICSI.
So 13 of DP's little eggies are being wined and dined, followed by a walk along the beach tonight! LOL

Gulp, Dr Anne wants to put 3 back in (think it's something to do with Linda's age and egg quality)
Transfer is 9.30 Thursday.

We did one IUI then IVF but then thats because we had been trying for some time ourselves with a known donor.
Most clinics allow 1 to 4 IUI's then start IVF.
I've come to the conclusion that I'm terribly bad at this waiting business. About a week out from d day I get all panicky that I haven't been good enough.. Lol. My poor partner is already so stressed about other stuff without me adding to it.

We tried 3 IUDI cycles with clinic supplied 'icky boy juice'! After that DP and I were ready to try something more invasive and are glad we chose to move to ICSI when we did.
Thanks guys, part of me thinks if this attempt fails too the next one will be it before ramping this up, and part of me thinks maybe we just cut to chase and head there straight up.
Hopefully I'm worried for nothing and won't need it.
So the boobs are the dreaded sore rocks they normally are before af shows her face, so kinda expecting her to arrive in the next couple days :-(

More questions... You must all be sick of them by now. Fingerscrossed, did you have to ask to move to ivf or was it offered because of your previous attempts at home?
Don't have a great feeling about tomorrow and just trying to have a plan in place, one of my odd bod coping mechanisms. Lol. The driving 3 hours down to Sydney and back is exhausting, so we are in two minds about whether to ask to up the anti straight up if this doesn't work. The local clinic goes from iui to ivf after two failed attempts but has a three month wait. Kicking ourselves we weren't aware of them beforehand, but also very aware of annes reputation too, as much as I find her a tad awkward she is very good at what she does.

Hey Veritas, we are with Dr Anne too.
We went through 3 failed IUDI and we were ready to move on, so we brought it up with Dr Anne and she agreed and had no worries about it. I thought we would have to try hard to convince her, but she was happy for us to switch it up a notch. One of the other good things with her is there is no waiting period. You do need to essentially wait a cycle as you need to start the drugs on day 21 of one cycle and then Egg collection isn't til about day 14 of the next, so it's kinda like having a 1 month break.
Awkward? I have never found her awkward. I think she just a typical science geek. But then I'm a science geek too so maybe I don't notice it!

Oh wow I just spent the last 1.5 hours reading this thread. So amazing to see everyone's journeys, it made me teary. Then I looked at the date and can't believe it was started so many years ago.
I have my fingers crossed for all you lovely ladies :)
^^ thanku boodles345 , yes our journey started soooo long ago, hence why i started this thread, it was like my journey diary, but then thru the years it grew to so much more, its become everyones!!! its a difficult journey and then u meet lovely people here and its still difficult but easier to travel.... and of course, the end result makes u forget all the pain.

So.… AF was due yesterday. Still no show. DP is famished all of the time. Incredibly tired and exhausted and her cramping seems to be coming and going for the last day or so.
I almost have DP convinced to POAS tonight after her Clexane! Only problem is she need to pee every 5 seconds so I don't know that she can hold for long enough prior to a POAS!

DP is still eating more than usual, and has I higher than usually craving for cheese and savory stuff. At the club tonight she didn't feel like her usual banana split! She is also feeling hot and red faced.
Period due today, nothing. DP wants to wait til Thursday or Friday morning for BT
last cycle period day came and went, then the BT on the Friday (chem) and AF arrived on the Saturday, I think she is worried it's going to happen like that again!
So exciting for you both fingerscrossed and Catemer! Hopefully some wonderful news in the next couple days :-)
First acupuncture tonight, and diet has undergone an overhaul so hopefully this month is it for us too :-)
