Ok so my fluffy mail arrived today (:smiliedance:) and I got 3 cushie tushies basix..
All are really average. They were fine until whoever it was sewed the booster in.
Green one has loose threads hanging off the front, the booster inside is all wonky shaped and looks like its been overlocked in two or three sections as opposed to all the way around once
Blue one has a big black sooty looking mark in the booster
Yellow ones booster is sewn in wonky and has had a snap popped over one edge of it, threads are hanging off everywhere on the booster.
What do I do, I was so keen to try these and other than what has been done with the boosters they look fine, but NOW they look like seconds!!
So disappointed. :(
Who should I contact first?

 From DDU, but I'm a bit reluctant to go straight to Tanya because I know its not her fault.
OT: You are fast!!

Contact DDU first, and if you get no joy from them, then contact CushieTushies directly. Actually, to cut out time, I'd contact DDU via email and CC the email to CushieTushies.

I also got a cushie from DDU and it had a broken snap on it. I contacted DDU and she gave me the address of Cushie Tushie so that I can send it straight back to them.
 Doesn't look too good for Cushie Tushie at the moment....

:( What a shame.
I did exactly what you suggested Tam and emailed Tanya about it and forwarded (CC didn't work for some reason) it to the relevant person at cushie tushies.

I have almost the whole ct couture range i do love the fact that it is such an easy nappy for hubby to use, but i had issues with quite a few of them, my very first one, was sewn all crooked had loose threads, the tag was hanging off and it had rust coloured flecks through it, i contacted the lady who sold it to me and she contacted ct, i sent the nappy back and got a replacement, it was sewn ok, but had a big black line accross the front of the minky, i bit my lip and didnt say anything, i went to a different supplier, and got some more ct, this time all good, till my second order when i had snap issues, they came to me broken, i sent them back to ct and i got replacements, one of my replacements has a cracked snap, but again i havent said anything. All my boosters sound like the ones u have described and the extra booster is a different lenght in every nappy that i have.
All that aside, i do love the nappy, it was my first ever mcn, but i have since found new favs.
They are good at sending out replacements.

:( Nothing yet.
Hope you hear some good news soon!
Well poo, I just ordered some from DDU the other day...I hope they aren't like yours :( That's sad, seriously if I was a stockist I wouldn't send them to customers in that condition!

I agree! They should check them before sending them out.
I would keep at them until you get replacements you are happy with NCB.
I got a CT with a broken snap once, I contacted DDU and they got me to return it to CT direct....she sent out a perfect one. The good ones are really good. I still love them.....obviously some problems with their production, but the nappy itself is great.

were they on special??

 Not on special.
I've heard back from Tanya (DDU) and she has gotten into contact with Shell and I'm just waiting to hear from her.
I understand what you mean about checking them, but from the outside they look just like the photos on the website, they look fine. Its not until you open it up that it is disappointing.
Gee I hope you get replacements NCB! I'm really surprised DDU would pass on nappies that were in that condition- I've had really good experiences from them in the past.
I found some CT seconds the other day- thank goodness I didn't buy them, cos goodness knows what their seconds are like if their 'firsts' are like that!!!:)

The ones on eBay? If so, I was watching to see if I could get some... I obviously won't now, reason being exactly the point you made.
Wondering what seconds are like if the full-priced ones are average.
Haven't heard from Shell (from Cushie Tushies) yet, will let you all know when I do.
No they weren't on special.
My order should be here tomorrow.

Have heard back.
I have been offered to have three coutures of my choice (free upgrade) in replacement.
Sounds like a very good offer and I am very pleased with everyone's help thus far.
:fingerscrossed: that the new ones are good. I'll let you all know.

I bought 1 x basix and one couture. And I'm really disappointed with them both.
The basix booster was sewn in all crooked to start. Then they worked fine the first two times or so that I used them, but then the couture started to leak. It seems the elastic went around the legs (and my bub is only 8kgs so I don't pull hard). Then the PUL went on the basix (I never use in dryer and wash exactly as instructed). Then the leg elastic went on the basix.
I didn't think to get back to CT about the issues... at the moment they're just in the bottom of the nappy pile.
I got my order, 2 are fine(1 couture and 1 basix) but one of my basix inserts is sewn in a bit crooked.

I can't wait to see what the good ones look like! :smiliedance:
That's a shame littlemissmoi. :(

I got my replacements today.
Two are good, I'm glad to have a couple of good ones.
One however, is not.
I'm emailing back to let them know and offer a photo, but I am really not interested in sending more back and waiting for replacements. It is just stupid that replacements would be of seconds quality as well.
Won't be buying again.

I got a couture Cushie Tushie as one of my first ever MCNs and was incredibly disappointed. The quality of the workmanship was terrible compared to all the other nappies I got - it looked like someone had whipped it up at home in about 10 minutes. It has never worked on DD anyway - too small folded down and too big at full size.

I still don't have my replacement :(
By the sounds of it, I shouldn't get my hopes up on what I will receive....
That is shocking that they sent you out another dud as a replacement.

Thats what i said in my first post that my replacement was a dud, looked just like a factory second,.
Bit disapointing when u think how much they cost.

Sorry to hear about all of you recieving dud nappies, im quite shocked that theres so many of you to be honest. I havent had any problem with mine and have since went back to purchase another which was also in perfect condition. Hope they sort out whatever is going wrong!! Bet it would be extremely frustrating and dissapointing.
Bit disapointing when u think how much they cost.
Compared to other mass produced nappies (BBH, Itti Bitti etc) they are really poor quality and so expensive! I know they are a OSFM which bumps the price up a bit, but they are still a bit exey for what they are!
I have 2 coutures and like everyone else said the overlocking on the inserts was all crooked, had loose threads and looked like it had been done in stages.
Now some of the snaps are starting to go on them. Luckily it is only one snap on each flap so I can still do the nappies up. They have been relegated to the bottom of my stash though as emergency nappies.

I'm glad I came across this..

Probably costs peanuts to get it made there :( so they're also probably making a huge profit on second grade products!

I don't like my basix at the best of time
My couture however, I don't mind at all... its actually pretty damn good.
I don't blame whoever it was who said they have almost the whole range of coutures :D I have just the one, have recieved great customer service ordering from them and nothing wrong with the nappies either
