Hi

Thought I'd just see how the December mums are feeling?

I am feeling great. I've been feeling kicks for a couple of weeks now and have really popped so need to go and buy some maternity clothes.

I will be 19 weeks tomorrow and have my ultrasound tomorrow aswell so I cant wait. We want to find out what we are having because we already have a 2 year old daughter and am hoping this is a boy because I only want to have 2 kids so if I could have one of each that would be great.

Does anyone else know if they are having a boy or girl?

I will let you know how I go tomorrow.

I went for my 19 week scan yesterday and found out we're expecting a GIRL! :D We're absolutely over the moon and would've been either way, as this is our first. The baby is healthy and is very active in there! I have felt a few light kicks occasionally, but these only started in the last two weeks. We were actually able to make out some of her facial features from the (standard) ultrasound and can tell that she has my DH lips and we think his nose too!

I definitely look pregnant now and have already bought a few maternity clothes. I've found that my normal jeans and pants no longer fit well because I'm carrying out the front and quite low. So the old wives tales of carrying out the front being a boy are wrong!

I've been needing so much more sleep than I used to have and am only 20 weeks today. Has anyone else been getting tired, even though they say you have "renewed energy" in the second trimester? I'm still working full-time and wonder how I'll cope when I'm in my third trimester  .

Hi

I had my ultrasound yesterday and we are having a boy! My partner and I are over the moon. Now the only problem is trying to find a name we both like.

I went looking for maternity clothes yesterday but didnt like any of them because they come over my stomach. I ended up going into the Billabong shop and buying a few pairs of pants because they sit low under my belly and are so comfy. I bought a few of their singlets aswell because they are long and cover my stomach and also have the inbuilt bra inside of them aswell (which is what I wear all the time anyway).

I havent been feeling that tired lately, I suppose because I have a very active 2 year old to chase around. Maybe when I get bigger and it gets hotter I'll probably be more tired.

Anyway chat to you again soon

Hi all December mums congrats to all. My hubby and I are expecting no.3 on 20th December. I am 19 weeks now and am having scan in a weeks time. Hubby and I have been very lucky that we have already got a boy 6yrs and a girl 2 1/2 years so I'm not sure if I would like to find out what it is or not. Hubby wants to know but I'm undecided. All else is going well and am expanding very quickly. :) :)

Hello December Mums!

I just had a 4d scan and was over the moon with the amount of detail I could see - I definately recommend it if you haven't had one. i have the picture on the fridge and feel so excited now. We also found out that we are having a boy! We only agree on one boy's name so far, Ty. I am due on the 17th Dec, and I am praying that I don't go late and end up having him on Xmas Day or something! That is my biggest fear! The baby was unplanned as we thought we couldn't have children so after the initial shock I was very happy. My husband has had a bit more trouble getting used to the idea (it has been hard on me at times as he tends to be negative), has anyone else had a similar problem?

I'm not feeling as tired as was earlier on in the pregnancy & have limited clothes left that I can wear to work!

Hi
I'm expecting my first baby christmas day. Its funny that that is what people are dreading. Actually it might go late and it could end up a new year baby.
I'm having my scan next week.

hi, luscious ladies!

like a lot of you, i've just had my second scan and am THRILLED to announce there's a magnificent little girl on the way to brighten our home.

she's due between christmas day and new years eve, so looks like she's starting off as a party baby :0) i'm not particularly fussed about her time of arrival, whenever she feels fit to come and visit is fine by me.

i'm feeling great apart from sharp stabbing pains in my breasts - anyone else? - but it's a small price to pay.

i wonder if i'll be as positive in another four months......

Congratulations. I had my scan too last week. I am having a boy. I have started feeling like something's moving in there. I only feel it sometimes....like a bounce in my stomach....but its so subtle,,,I start to think later that I imagined it.
Anyway at least our kids will have their share of parties near their birthdays.

I'm due new year's day, but will be having a caesarian around the 20th due to complications.

I am single sadly (he left when I get preg), but that means I get to pick out her name without any compromises!

I first felt kicks at 18 1/2 wks, and now every day, all day! I think it's because I was underweight (48kgs) when I got pregnant, so there wasn't much room to start with and she's trying to stretch out!

P.S I call her B.O.B, Baby On Board! What do you call your bump?

My kicks are very subtle but I do have a bit of padding round there so that might be why I can't feel it so much. The baby was certainly moving around in the scan!
Sorry to hear about your partner walking out. Its his loss...he wont be able to enjoy the baby! Yes you are right...you dont have to worry about compromising with names. My DH and I are already debating that subject!
I dont call my bump anything but dh keeps referring to him as bubba.

hi girls,
just wondering how you are all going??
Ive got a bump now and finding it hard to sleep... :(
cause i am naturally small i am finding it a little un cumfy carring around a small bubba. The nursery is complete and now its just waiting.
Had a 4d scan on saturday and its fantastic!!! she had her arms behind her head sleeping just like my husband! its amazing! :D
I really cant wait to meet our little bubba! :)
Has anyone booked their maternity leave yet?? I have booked mine for the
start of october!! I can't wait!!!

I've definitely got a big bump now!!! Not sure if I'm bigger than the norm, but I had a small frame before and my aunty asked if I was sure I wasn't having twins (I'm about the same size as my cousin's GF who is 2 months ahead of me). Has anyone else had people ask that?

I find it very difficult to get comfortable in bed because my back hurts, but driving and sitting in my chair at work is worse! I'm sure it's only going to get worse...

I've booked my maternity leave for late October, giving me 6 weeks to relax :) It's hard working full-time, but I had some annual leave saved up so I'm taking days here and there so I don't have full weeks every week. How's is everyone else going working full-time?

I'm pretty exhausted by the end of the working week (having short weeks is a good idea if you can manage it). I was thinking I'd work up untill early Dec (due 28 Dec), but now the idea of having a good 6 wks beforehand is sounding very appealing!

Each day I can't wait to get home from work, lay down and just watch my belly waiting for the baby to move around. And when she does it's absolute Bliss! :) Does anyone else do this kind of thing? I get such a kick out of seeing her move, imagining what she's like...

brooke
25-08-2005, 06:18 PM
i do the same...
I get home from work, jump in the shower then lay on my bed and wait for bubs to move. Just laying there and watching her and talking to her is so relaxing!
its the best thing in the whole world!!! :)

I was working off shore for 20 8hour days on, then 8 days off.

It was terrible!

I had to quit my job (unable to fly in small unpressurised aircraft to work - denies oxygen to the baby) so now I'm busy "nesting" and setting up nursery!

Relax as much as you can!

Hi Everyone,
we are having a girl and she is due on december 22nd , I feel her move a little but my placenta is at the front and blocks most of her movement, my partner and I have already picked a name "Tyla". I have put on heaps of weight 20kgs to be exact but I was very fit before I got pregnant and had a period of 9 weeks were i could'nt go to the gym and I had to start eating alot more carbs as I was on a very strict diet, but my family is known to put on between 20-30kgs when we get pregnant and we all lose so I am not too worried, I tend to get tired and short of breath sometimes, I have the best boss in the owrld though so will be able to work right up until the end if I have the energy. Well good luck everyone :D

Hi Brooke,

I have had my dad ask me if I'm having twins but its always when i where the same top and im actually smaller then i was at 24 weeks with my first pregnancy.

I too have been finding it hard to get comfortable in bed, backaches, leg cramps, pelvic pain, waking up with pins & needles in my hands. I have tried sleeping with a pillow between my legs but it doesnt help. And if im not aching or cramping im up and down going to the toilet. Even though i drink at least a litre of water during the day i dont go to the toilet as much as i do during the night. I have found that if i sit in my chair too long at work that i get a numb bottom.

I am hoping to work right up until the Friday before im due before taking maternity leave (I am due on 22/12) so that I can basically have a whole year off work. I am finding working full-time is very draining and tiring as I am a tax consultant and work is extremely busy at the moment but i try and get as much rest as possible on weekends and I just keep telling myself that i only have a few months to go and then I get 12 months off. :D

Unfortunately I dont have the luxury of using annual leave hear and there as I only got married on 2nd April and took 4 weeks off around the wedding and my anniversary isnt till the end of september when i will be entitled to another 4 weeks then.

I've taken some time to get on this link, but better late than never.

I'm due 31/12, although never delivered in the past beyond 37 weeks so can confortably say I'm having a baby by mid-December.

This is my 3rd in 3.5 years and with the past 2 the nausea stopped at 20 weeks and the heartburn started around 24 weeks. This time around the nausea's still going at 23 weeks and the heartburn started 2 weeks ago. Am I unlucky or what!

I think this is my final pregnancy, they only seem to get worse!

Hi there all.. I am due on Dec 29th and this is my first little one. I am 23 weeks today and will be having a little boy which we are very excited about as we have no boy grandchildren on either side. I am feeling great and have been feeling him move so much even just watching my tummy move.. its amazing! Can I ask has anyone been feeling some intense pressure pains quite low that last for about a minute? Am I to believe these are braxton hicks? Any adv would be great! Thanks heaps all..

Hi kelly,

I too have been suffering from pressure pains in my pelvic area and sometimes i feel like i have been hit by a truck. My OB said the same thing as your midwife and told me to take paracetamol for the pain or if that doesnt help he could put me on some pain relief tablets.

I am also due on the 22nd December and am having a boy. My daughter who turns 5 this year was born on 22nd December 2000.

Good to know it is normal, my bf is so paranoid about any little pain I get I try to tell him it is normal but he is a bit of a worry wart. Would'nt it be amazing if your son comes on the 22nd as well as your daughter. Well good luck with it all :)

My husband is the same. As soon as I get a twinge or a weird pain or i feel a bit off colour he starts worrying. It would be amazing if my son does come on the 22nd as well but it will be pretty freaky if he comes on the 23rd because there will be 5yrs and 1 day apart between my 2 children and there is 5yrs and 1 day apart between my sisters 2 children. Her eldest was born the 24th May 1993 and the youngest was born on the 25th May 1998.

Hi Kelly,

Well it turns out my pelvic pains weren't normal. After not being able to walk last week from being in so much pain I went back and saw my OB and it turns out that I have Symphysis Pubis Diastasis. The muscles and ligaments around my pelvic and pubic bone have softened too much and everything is moving more then it should be. I have been fitted with a support belt today and can already feel the difference.

I suggest that if your still suffering the pain that you get it checked out.

Emma :)

Hi everyone,
our little girl "Tyla" due december 22nd, just developed carpal tunnel from fluid retention so now i look like a beached whale wearing a splint but other than that I feel pretty good I finish work november 11th, I will miss it but I feel so tired these days that the rest will be great. Hope everyone else is well.

Seems like everyone is feeling pretty tired now. I still have 8 weeks left at work - feels like an eternity (I'm due 28 Dec). Wish I was sleeping better, but I toss & turn and am having really weird, vivid dreams! Had my first 'panic' dream last week - baby arrived and I had no nappies, so it proceeded to poop everywhere! I hear such panic dreams are normal - anyone else having weird dreams...??!! :)

I had a dream the other night that i went for a check up and the Dr did an internal and told me he could feel the baby's head and 1 push and my DS was born with absolutely no pain. DS had all the boy bits but had a real girly face.

I have had some relly weird dreams the whole way through and not always about the baby, I finish work 11th november I was worried I would be bored but I am getting so tired now i think I will be grateful for the rest.
