For how long did you wear a bra to bed while breastfeeding? And how about nursing pads?

I have tried to go without either a few times and regretted it as soon as a 'unscheduled' let down occurred!

I wore a bra to bed for the first 2 months but then I had to have a mole cut off my back and couldn't wear a bra at all (the straps rubbed the wound)!

So I invested in those 'cruiser' mats for babies. They are like a large square of absorbant material. A bit like a large pad. And I would sleep with that under my top half and wouldn't have to worry about milk going all over the mattress etc and then you can just dispose of the mat when it gets too wet!;)

i don't wear a bra to bed, after being cooped up all day my girls need to be free  Maybe I'm just feral, or maybe I don't leak enough for it to be a problem for me, but if I do wake up with a wet patch it's not big enough for me to stress about. But my supply is still in the "settling in" phase. I have looked at getting a Booby Bib (http://www.boobybibs.com.au/breast-feeding-aid.php) if I do end up with a leakage problem. But we'll play it by ear, I guess an old towel would do the job just as well :D

I wore a bra and pads to bed . I would still sometimes wake up with my whole front side of my t shirt wet from leakng. I stopped wearing the pads when i knoew it was safe but for some unkown reason I still wear a bra to bed and I stopped feeding 6 weeks ago. My girls are only free when I have a shower. I think I'm paranoid about having them sagging to my waist. Oh and I am pregnant again so I feel they're going to start needing support again.

I wore a bra with nursing pads for about 8 months with DD1 and about 5 months with DD2 - I needed to as I was a leaker (although I leaked less with DD2).

The cruiser mats she is referring to are the disposable nappy changing mats - the Baby Love brand are called Cruisers but Huggies also have them, plus some other brands I think.

I had to wear breast pads night and day until about a month AFTER I finished BF (around 7 months for both DDs). I think I was on the very leaky end of the scale though.

Cheers

I stopped wearing the pads after 3 or 4 months i think, but still wear my bra to bed - although, i think i might be safe now - they don't get so full anymore. The thing i hate is having to wear panty liners everyday :banghead: and that you have to put everything back on after BDing:o

Interesting question.

My DD is 4 months and I still wear bra and pads to bed. ALthough I dispose of the pads during her night time feed. DH is complaining though that he keeps waking up with a pad stuck somewhere on his body:laughing:

Honestly I probably don't need them now. SHe's still feeding every 4 hours at night:banghead: so they never get too full. 'tis nice to have something catch the let-down leakage though.

I wore a bra and breastpads to bed until DD was about 10 months old (I was an ultra-leaker!)

At about that age, my BBs stopped leaking. kept wearing a bra for another couple of weeks, then thought "WTH am I doing?!" And stopped - it had just been habit! LOL

I wore breastpads up untill DS was about 7-8mths I just thought you had to wear them untill you stopped BF then i got told that was untrue and I still wear a bra to bed but i probaly dont need to anymore after reading this. I think im too scared to even though i have no problems with leaking.
