i have been trying to decide what to get, i think i am gonna go with the artificial as i can get them months before, no staining of my dress, they will last forever.
the thing is i have no idea where to get them from! they have them on ebay and there are web sites.
where did you get your? where you happy with them? if you had the chioce would you still get them again? did they look real?
thanks all! :)

Hi cbudge06!

we are getting mostly fake flowers for our wedding.. for the bridal party.. but for my DF's bouquet, we are having a real one for the day, and a fake copy to keep forever..

we have been getting our flowers from cheap as chips, reject shop, spotlight.. and craft places. We have found they are heaps cheaper than going through a florist

Hope this helps

i am getting married in Oct :) and i am getting a lady who does it privately to do them for me but there are some local shops that you can try!

Do you have a shop nearby called "eternal vase"? i know they do it!

I have made my flower bouquets myself and I bought foam roses from spotlight. They definitely turned out better than I expected.

From helping with a few weddings (sisters) I have found the fake look just as good (there are some amazing fake flowers around) my older sister went fake - mum made a huge boquet, and the younger went real - and even though they were kept in an esky they wiltered by the time the wedding was on.

This is the bouquet I have just made for my wedding, I thought that if I put a picture up, it would give you a little bit more of an idea. It isn't finished yet but you get the idea.

I'm getting married next year and really want black mini calla lilies as my flower but the few places I have found on the net that do these boquets are really expensive so i'm thinking about going artificial. These flowers have a naturally rubbery feel and you can get rubber fakes (i'm yet to find where in the colours I want tho) so i'm definitely going to keep looking for them.

Im using fake flowers and i made them myself every single part of the time consuming part were the beaded stems but They look awesome and Ive had so many people that like them and Ive even had a few request to make them for a friend for her wedding.

I still have to make another 2 bridesmaid bouquets and wirst corsages for the flowergirls.

if you buy fresh you are restricted to whats in season at the time and the colours. i got silk roses and i got them in an electric blue and white

depends where you live most florist do silk flowers. and you can keep them forever.

I'm going to go against the grain and say I MUCH prefer fresh flowers... I LOVE fresh flowers, so for me artificial just would never compare...

:iagree:
I love fresh flowers and could never go with fake myself.

However, I did catch the bouquet at a wedding last week and did not realise they were fake until i was holding them!

But for me I still prefer the smell and feel of fresh flowers.

Hi there!
i used fake flowers, i made all the arrangements myself well in advance (im a very creative person if i do say so myself hehe). They were tiger lillys and baby roses. Sorry i dunno how to put a pic up! ... the colours were very vibrant and looked awesome in photos - my wedding was pretty colourful!

Also my bridal party got to keep their pieces, and i have mine on display at home too with our album and other wedding keepsakes.

I have seen weddings with fake flowers that havent looked too great though, they can look 'too fake' and plastic. So try and chose some good quality silk flowers that look more realistic. And i also used some crystals and super glue to put 'water drops' on my flowers to give them that fresh look too - dont go over board with this though coz it looks yucky! I should know, luckily we had spare flowers to play with, hahaha.

I have seen weddings with real flowers that have looked great, BUT my girlfriend got married a month after us and she regreted having real flowers, they shrivelled up by the end of the day, and there was something on the leaves, like a white powder, that left stains on the girls dresses (sorry wouldnt have a clue what they actualy were)

best of luck darl! :goodvibes:

I got so sick of flowers dying that now I just buy fake and silk flowers. It saves me heaps of money in the long term. Florabelle (http://www.florabelle.com.au/)are pretty good supplier of them.

I will always recommend artificial.... I paid all up $195 online for myself 3 bridesmaids and a flower girl, and the flowers were gorgeous! They looked real and the lady even scented them for me. www.flowersforeverafter.com.au
I did a lot of looking around but didn't like the fact that they all look the same. This lady was fantastic and made it that way i wanted. I'll get her to do my little girls Christening candle next!
