Hi There,

My bubs is 9 weeks old, was diagnosed with reflux by 2 weeks old. we started on the above formula at 4 weeks, and saw a great change, he started on zantac by 5 weeks, as he wa still not gaining weight. That helped, but has been going backwards in the past 2 weeks, he is incredibably windy, has anyone else experienced this?

im wondering whether to
a) change formula (thinking bellamys) + thickener.
b) change to losec, see if that makes a difference.

what do you think???

Hi

My Son is 16 weeks old now and also has really bad reflux. We have experimented with all possible formulas and thickners and we have found that SP26 gold works best for him with easy thick in it. I guess all babies are different though. Our son also started to lose weight and had to be admitted to hospital, which is where they put us onto the easy thick as it doesn't seem to make him as constipated as the Karicare thickner.

We have also been on Zantac since he was a couple of weeks old but the hospital said Losec was better as it was more effective in stopping the acid. We have just made the switch so it's a bit early to tell if it's made much difference.... fingers crossed!!

ohh, you are not the first person to tell me to give losec a go.
ive taken him off the zantac as of yesterday, as im sure it is upsetting his belly quite badly.

sp?26 i havnt heard of it, i tried him on the s26 AR, which improved the reflux, but terrible constipation. we had him on the normal s26 at the start, and that constipated too.

:crying: just rang the doctors clinic, i cant get into my doctor till the end of july! and the next best end of june!!!
i've left a message for her to ask if i can get a script for losec... see how we go.

i hope the losec helps you:hugs:

we're in the country, severe doctor shortage... and its not like he's an 'emergency' (they are fine if you need to be seen in that case), hmmm, she'll prob call back tonight.
