View Full Version : Infa Trek 8 vs Maxi Rider AHR
Hi all.. with the new laws coming into effect later this year .. i know most have the maxi rider... I want to know if any one out there have the Infa Trek 8 and what they think of it? I'm tossing up between the two. DS1 will be one month short of 3yrs old when this new law takes place and he currently has the Infa Secure Max with an H-harness, which will be deemed "illegal" come Nov.

We have the Trek. I love it and DS things its pretty darn comfy. The big this that sells people the maxi as opposed to the trek is the anti-sub clip......but you can order a "replacement" clip through britax and put it in the trek. I think the anti-sub path is pretty good though. I couldn't be happier with the trek.....and its australian made and owned.

Maxirider definately
We have one for our DD who is now 28 months. I am going out to grab another one tomorrow for DHs car so that we have carseats in both cars.
Its a brilliant car seat - safest toddler seat on the market - goes up to accomodating a 26kg child....

We have the Maxirider AHR in our car and my parents have the Infa Trek 8 in theirs. The Maxirider definitely seems a more comfortable seat for DS and the straps on the 5 point harness are much easier to adjust on the Maxirider (my DS is only 15 kgs - I'm not sure if in your case the 5 point harness is something you would be taking into consideration or not).
NatsMummy - yes the 5 point harness is definitely the only reason why we are buying a new seat as DS1 is under 4 and needs a built in harness in his seat.
Thanks for the responses so far. We will be going to baby bunting this weekend to try both on DS to decide but leaning towards the INFA.

We have the Infa too. We got it for DD and one of the things that really made us lean that way was the fact that it is a bit of a narrower fit inside the seat IYKWIM - DD is 2 1/2 and has been in it since 2 with the 5 point she was about 10kgs when she first was in it and she looked a little lost in the Maxi. Also Infa is an Aussie compant too which we liked!
DD hopped in both seats in the shop and was in and out of the maxi really fast but sat in the Trek 8 for ages we had to drag her away!!! And as ChunkyDunks said the anti sub clip from the maxi fits the Trek so I will be jsut getting the replacement clip from Britax (It was $29 last time I rang).
We currently have the Infa Vario Max for DS1 and he loves sitting in it so I figured same manufacturer and the fact that the Vario Max was rated the highest in safety ratings for booster seats is the reason i'm leaning towards the trek 8...
As for the anti sub clip I dont know about the Trek 8 but with the Vario Max the reason it does not have it is because of the design, the fact that the arm rests are low where you put the seat belt under. Trust me they arent going anywhere (with the H harness anyways), DS1 has tried his hardest to get out of the seat and he hasnt yet but its good to know that there is an asc clip that will fit it if the trek 8 needed it
Hipod senator is the same shell as the Maxi AHR just without the cupholders and cheaper so bear it in mind if you do want the Maxi.
Oh and the senator had the anti sub clip, versa tether etc same as the Maxi.
