Does anyone elses' baby do this?

My son is 10 months and he's slowly destroying all his clothes lol, I'm wondering if it's a comfort thing?
He grabs his top, kind of makes a fist and shoves it all in his mouth.. I just put him down to bed and the first thing he does when put down is grab a fist full of clothing!
He does it awake sometimes, especially when we're in the car - but that's ok I put a bib on him then.
Do you think it's just the sucking he likes? He's never taken a dummy, or a bottle for that matter! Very.... difficult, or maybe moody baby!

He does it anytime - teething or not. He's not interested in any comforters either! Just his top when he's wearing them...

My 4 month old does this, he takes dummys and teethers too but he loves sucking clothes and flannels etc I think he likes sucking up the liquid from the fabric, he especially does this every time he has a bath - he tries to steal the wash cloth and suck up the bath water. I think it's mainly a comfort thing although the liquid that gathers in the material appears to be the main appeal.
