Abstudy question

I rang up centrelink today to see if im able to get abstudy for my diploma in children services ive just finshed my cert lll in children's services and it was hard to afford it and im still paying it off and i was hoping to get abstudy for the diploma as it is alot more money and im a single young mum of nearly 2 children ( baby is born in a week :D) and the lady said i wasnt able to get it that i would have to get a pernsioner study thing that gives me $33 it was around this price.

if you do the diploma through TAFE(NSW anyway) its free- you can do it via correspondence through tafe too.

Your not eligible for Abstudy because your already on an income support payment(pension) and you can get the pnesioner education payment if studying while on a pension

I dont quite get the question but if u r getting ssp they will give u study allowance round $33 a week u can also get JET to help with childcare.
They wont give you 2 payments austudy is for people studying who have no dependants ssp is for those single raising a dependent and if u study on top of ssp they give u a study allowance u should have a health care card this can reduce the cost of tafe fees.
