Have any of you tried putting some regular breakfast oats in a stocking and running it under running water for you bath? You have to try this!! Oats are sooo soo beneficial whether eaten or for your skin... if you sqeeze the oat juice out while you bath and rub it over your skin you will be amazed at how silky smooth the liquid is.. it's so good for your skin!
...oh I just remembered a while back someone wrote about brocolli maybe being the cause for her daughters nappy rash.. Brocolli is one of the most sprayed vegetables.. it's sprayed about 7 times before it hits the supermarket, so it's best to buy at least this vege organic.

I used to make all my own cleansers, masks and moisturisers from natural products. Oats are just awesome . I'm still amazed at how much can be spent on beauty products when it's so easy and cheap to make your own tailored to your skin's specific needs.
Thanks for starting this thread  Hopefully other will add some more natural remidies to it :smiliedance:

Hmmmm the only oats I've got handy are honey flavoured instant porridge oats :chef: But i'm sure I've got some plain old oats in the pantry somewhere, shall have to go dig them out. Shall also have to find the time to have a bath

Great idea! lets add some more..I never never waste money on chemical products either.. go to your kitchen and you'll find wonderful things!
... a natural cleanser for your face..
Olive oil, sea salt and some lemon juice.. use as a face scrub.
Apple cider vinegar is great for you hair too.. have you used that? it makes it so soft..(smells abit but it's kinda nice I think)
If anyone wants to lose pounds my friend used to mix apple cider vinegar with two tablespoons of honey in a glass of grapefruit juice...(apparently this regulates a sluggish thyroid - which regulates your metabolism)
Four tablespoons of honey with two tablespoons of olive oil as a conditioner.. leave for 30mins in hair and wash out with shampoo.
two tablespoons of honey with two tablespoons of milk smooth over your face and leave for 10mins. Rince with warm water.

Natural mayonaise is a great hair treatment
castor sugar, sea salt or oats are a great natural exfoliant
I'll have to dig out all of my old recipes now - you've got me motivated to get back to basics.
Bicarb soda and vinegar will clean your bathroom better than any chemical you'll ever spend a fortune on too

mm, i like cutting a big lemon in half and then cutting the edges off and near the flat side , and rubbing it over your skin like a sponge.. it s so invigorating ,, you hold the other end like a handle and can even dip it in sea salts,, zing!!!

:yelclap: Nice one!!!
I've got a great eye make up remover recipe, it will even remove waterproof mascara.....
1 tablespoon castor oil
1 tablespoon light olive oil
2 teaspoons canola oil
Blend ingredients together and store in a tightly sealed bottle.
Apply with cotton wool to remove makeup around the eyes.
It will last for 6 months before you have to throw it out and start again!
Now, if I could just find damn castor oil - nowhere stocks it around here as everyone is scared pregnant women will buy it to induce labour. Anyone know where I can get some??
