Hi - I just thought I'd pop on here to share my experience with my son. He started screaming at 3 weeks of age, refused the breast by 9 weeks and over the last 8 years has been on losec or nexium constantly and we tried a lot of different diets.
My son NEVER ate cake. He tried it once, vomited and that was the end of that - no sweets or biscuits EVER. Eventually he asked to try other milks as he didn't like cow milk and after some trial and error of different milk (ie. oat milk, soy, rice) - my son settled on rice milk as being his drink of choice.
We have finally - with the help of a fantastic allergist - worked out that my son is allergic to soy and egg. The egg allergy is very severe.
I think in the end I was too tired of trying things and needed testing and help. He has now been off his nexium for many months for the first time ever.
There is a happy ending for most reflux children. It takes a long time and a lot of patience. At one stage I never imagined having a normal life again - one where I got decent sleep and felt happy.
It does eventually happen. Good luck to you mums with babies with reflux. It can be a hard journey. I am happy to receive pm's if you need some help or support or just post on here and I can tell you different things I tried that may just work.
