Hi all, Im having a real problem at the moment with my 1 year old boy and heavy wetting. Every morning he wakes up with a really full nappy and soaking wet! Ive tried huggies, babylover, snugglers and a few other brands, going up to a bigger size and even a plastic nappy cover/ cloth nappy over the top but not even that works. Besides changing him in the middle of the night (we allready change him just before putting him down at 7:30pm) i don't know what else to do and I really don't want to disturb his sleep. If any one else has had this problem and has some advice I'd be very grateful. Thanks Loz C

I've heard some Mums will poke small holes in one nappy and then put a larger nappy over the top, so the first nappy gets full and then the wee can run through the holes into the next nappy and fill that.

Sorry I'm not much help! DD is a very heavy wetter, but she is in cloth nappies now not sposies.

I've found BamboNature works really well at night - last night we got 13hrs without a leak and similar most other nights, whereas when we used huggies etc would be full adn overflowing after about 8hrs. They are more expensive than most other brands and so far I've only been able to buy them online, but for 13hrs and no leaks are worth it!

At about 12-18 months my boy was 'peeing for Australia' LOL and woke up soaking wet from armpits to knees every morning. The only thing that worked was a cloth nappy - Baby Beehinds Bamboo with extra boosting and a woolen cover.

Sorry this comes so long after your question but I've been searching for this topic so found your post. I have been putting a Tena Lady in my sons nappy so he doesn't leak overnight. It works!!

You didn't mention in your post if your DS has a bottle or breastfeed before bed? Our DS had real issues when we were still giving him milk after dinner and/or just before bed, but since we cut that out, we haven't had any more leakage. We did the same thing as you - totally ran the gamut of all the nappy brands but nothing would contain all that liquid  so now we're just cautious of how much he has to drink before bed and it's really helped. He's now back in BabyLove toddler nappies (he's 14months) and we haven't had an issue.

Good luck!!

Only thing that works for us is cloth. Easiest to explain I guess is a baby beehinds bamboo fitted, with a magicall over the top, stuffed with the insert and then a wool cover/longies over the top  :D

I just used to change her before I went to bed, around 11-ish. She's sleep from 6pm to 6am every night, have a 6am nappy change and feed, then sleep again until 8am. So I used to change her nappy before bed at 6, then again around 11/11:30, then again at 6am. She was just in towelling squares with pilchers over the top, never got really wet before her nappy changes, but I can't imagine weeing then being left in the wet nappy so she'd be changed even if it was only a small amount.

Hi,

We just tried our first night using cloth nappies ( use them during the day, but could never find one that worked at night).
DD (18 mth) was soaking through a huggies and needing changed about 1 because she was waking wet.
Anyway, we used a bbh bamboo fitted with both inserts and three bamboo fold-ups between the nappy and a bbh woollen cover. AMAZING, she slept right through. All the soakers were saturated, but the wool cover seemed to keep it all in. She had a HUGE bottom, but didn't seem to affect her sleep.
Worth a try. :smiliedance:

Hi,

Sorry, not wanting to but in. Didn't realise she was such a heavy wetter until recently, change her every hour or so during the day. Think she holds a lot in until night too.
I am going to get a couple more to use for night. Enormous bottom, looked a bit like a cowboy waddling around before we put her to bed. Only problem is they take so long to dry. Is hemp just as absorbent?
