What do you prefer for inner stay dry layers in your kids nappies? I've noticed on other nappy sites that a lot of people don't like suedecloth. Is it for any particular reason or just once of those personal preference quirks?

Personally I've not had a problem with suedecloth, or any other stay dry fabric in Alice's nappies. Though some of her microfleece nappies seem to have gone a bit pilled, kind of like a crappy old polar fleece jumper does. :(

Hmmmm interesting to ponder this.....I think I prefer my fleece inner nappies - her skin feels drier in those. The suedecloth keeps her dry too, but perhaps feels warmer and moister against her skin? Not a real issue for me because I change her so frequently.....it would be rare that I would leave her in a nappy for 3 hours, unless we're out or she's asleep of course.

IKWYM about the pilling.....my Cushie Tushies have done that, but it doesn't really bother me. I like the bamboo insert with the fleece liner - it's a good combination for me, although I am starting to see what people mean when they say CT's are narrow in the waist.....for a OSFM, I can't imagine they'll do DD until TT:( But I digress....:D

I think its a personal preference thing..I prefer suedecloth, its harder wearing, doesnt pill, is less inclined to stain (not that any of mine have ever stained fleece or suede) However i do still love the soft snuggle feel of a good quality microfleece.. Little she has never reacted to either..

Yep it is mainly my CT's that have pilled. They are cute nappies but feel a bit cheaper than some of the other ones we have and the microfleece doesn't feel all that "micro" to me!

i think alot more babies have reactions to suedecloth than they do microfleece
