I just washed them as I would the rest of the nappies. They probably didn't need it as I've only received nappies in pretty good condition. :)

Ditto. I just bunged them in with the others - more to get rid of any foreign washing powder than germs. Then dried them in the sun. I would be amazed if a baby could catch anything off a cloth nappy - scabies is the only thing I can think of that might even be possible!

Hmm i don't think your suppose to use nappisan on ANY mcn's not just pul???

I think a normal wash would do just fine anyhow.

You can always use some detol in wash liquid or canasten. The detol smells really nice like eucalyptus.

I'm just going to pop mine through a normal wash with my other nappies

I've used napisan a few times and they haven't dissolved or anything!

I'd give them an overnight napisan soak, a hot wash and a day or two in the sun. That's as clean as they're going to get!

i was reading on a cloth nappy organisation website and they said that they measured bacteria on nappies that were washed with detergents and those that were sun dried. results was the sun dryed nappies had lower bacterial levels at the end

so to sanitize a used nappy i would wash and then put out on the line :)

we sun dry it acts as a natural sanitiser as bugs dont like UV, be careful with the hot wash some nappies PUL can shrink a bit

I'd do a strip wash, as you can't be sure other people have washed them properly. The dry them in the sun.
