hi i took my 7 month old to the doctor today for a husk voice and the doctor told me he has to much acid, so he gave me zantac i asked the chemist pharmacist and they said that acid would make him have a funny sounding voice, i gave it to him tonight and he just vomited it back up, but the thing i don't understand is how did he come up with this. well i am just a little confused just wondering has this ever happened to anyone else.

This is called 'silent reflux' my eldest daughter suffered from this for her first 6 months. She was on zantac for this time and a bit longer. It is actually more common than you would think. If you can manage to get him to keep the zantac down I found it worked a treat but if not maybe think about taking him to a chiroprator I also found this helped a lot. Good luck :)

The signs in my baby were.....constant suckling(but not really feeding) could not lie flat, did not throw up at all but constantly 'gurgled' after feeding. Over all a very unhappy baby.
Seeing a chiropractor who specialises in babies can help a lot. Sometime a lot of our problems are cause by small kinks in our body and they help get them out. It is an alternitive or support to medication. (pediatric chiropractors do NOT adjust either, nothing scary)

Have a look at the RISA website they have great info about both types of reflux.
Silent reflux can often be 'worse' than reflux because you can see it iykwim & many doctors over look it ! How great that yours took on board the husky sounds etc :yelclap:
More than likely he would have gone by a lot of other tell tale signs you would have given without realising ! Plus a reflux bub often has a very acidic smell to their breath so he may have picked up even on that !
Chiropractors can be great for some reflux bubs but not all sadly my DS2 isnt one of them !
He will have vomitted the Zantac back up due to the taste as its revolting so you need to get the syringe right down the back of his mouth & squirt it down his throat. Give it some time & he will get used to it to some point but also remember to give it at the same time every day !
