I'm thinking of getting some especially for overnight because DS1 has a tendency to get bad nappy rashes. I just want to know if they really work for keeping rashes away/healing existing rashes, and keeping baby's skin dry. Also, how often do you use them and why? And do you wash them?
TIA

I haven't used them yet but i have just ordered some myself. I'm hoping they will help with DS nappy rash mainly for his overnight nappy as the day one's don't seem to cause rash.

I have some and sadly I didn't see much of a difference. Tried them overnight, tried them when I have rash. I also have issues with overnight nappy rash. Unfortunately the only thing that helps is slathering on the barrier creams and flushable liner for us, to help prevent them. Once I've got rash (like NOW:thumbsdown:) I end up having nappy free time as much as possible and lots of changes.
Oh and by geez they stain like anything! No amount of sunning can get the green poo stain out of them (the poo wasn't even green:confused:)

I swear by silk liners however I only used them when I knew my little one wasn't going to poo as others have discovered they stain easily.
To wash I recommend handwash. They won't keep the skin dry which is why your best to use them during the day only when you can change asap.
If your little one is getting alot of nappy rash have you looked into what could be causing it??? Ie if on solids a certain food or maybe it's the nappy you are using??

I know his rash comes from his poos when he has cows milk or I have a feeling something else he is eating he's reacting to. His poo comes out as an acidic liquid sometimes and the rash develops. I just worry that being in cloth all night might exasberate it if he already has one.

I would be more inclined to think that modern cloth would help the rash more than a disposable would.

not in our experience so far:no: I just ordered two dedicated night nappies so we'll see if they work better. We were using BBBs and no matter how big the liner, his skin would still be moist in the morning. Disposables always keep his skin dry and help clear a rash if it is getting bad. I really want to go back to full time cloth but I want to avoid rash for Ds and so that DH doesn't get completely turned of cloth again.

I've never tried silk liners, but I use microfleece and they work really well. No rash for my little ones so far in MCNs. :)
I like the idea of going with a microfleece liner too. As they are pretty cheap to make it won't matter if you use some heavy duty creams on your bubs bum rash either, because you can always just make more if they get ruined.
borntobemummy my DP was pretty reluctant to have Alice in full time cloth because of her getting rash from night nappies. I used some fleece liners and let him slather her botty in sudocrem so he knew she was protected  and he eventually came around.

I third the fleece liners :) I know they are not as natural as silk, but they are cheap and will draw moisture away from the skin.
