Hi all,
I'm going to make the most of the expo discounts and order some nappies in the next couple of days.
I want to buy some BBH's and IB's but am not sure whether to buy the small's or go straight to the next size up. Big babies run in my family and my ultrasounds always measure ahead of time so i'm expecting the bubba to be around the 4kg mark (but then i guess u never can tell).
How long would i get out of the small's? How long would i have to wait until bubs would fit into the next size up?
I already have a heap of flats as i didnt know MCN's existed so am happy to use those in between
I've never used BBH's & haven't used cloth on a newborn (will be in about 7 weeks though ), but just wanted to say, my DS is 9kgs & still in a med IB. The snaps meet in the middle, so I've still got quite a way to go till they'll be too small. I've also found with him that the snap ins work so much better than the sewn in ones, but that's not the same for all bubs. Maybe just get a trial pack so you get 1 of each & see which suits your bub best.
I would say go with the sm IB's, but hopefully someone else that's actually used them could help you more.

My bub is 12 weeks old and is in medium itti bittis for the past 3 weeks. She was 3kg when she was born and is 5.9kg now. It really depends on the baby though. And if you found bubs grew out of what ever size u picked quickly you could always swap them in the swap thread, or sell them.
I had my baby in sposies for the first 8 weeks, but only because I had no idea about mcns
She has also been in the ofsa bbh bamboo fitteds for the past 3 weeks too.

my DD was in mcn from about 2 weeks old and born 3.5kg. she didnt wear the small ittis very long and I had to get mediums very quickly.... she is now 6 months and 9.47kgs and going into large ittis and magicalls....
Maybe get mixed packs of 3 small and 3 medium and see how they go and then return them to swap for the next size up or down. Medium magicalls are huge compared to the ittis but it will depend on bubs shape.
My 9kg DD hardly fits her medium sizes at all and now I have to sell them and get the next size up already!

Hi trixiebelle
I had my daughter in MCN as soon as we got home from hospital (day 5) and I bought our first itti when she was 3 months old, 5kg. It was a medium. And she's now almost 15 months and she is still wearing it, and I still have room to expand in them. I'd recommend getting the medium, but you probably won't be able to use it from NB. I think just money wise you're better off that way.
Magicalls however, are another kettle of fish! I think that you should get smalls and mediums (NB size won't last long I'm sure!) - my daughter fit smalls from about 3 weeks (and she was born at a puny 2.7kg). I'm still on mediums now, and the smalls lasted her till she was about 8 months. Though I think the Bamboo BBH are better since they'll last longer being OSFM, and better value for money. And since you have flats, the BBH bamboo fitteds will not be a problem for you with covers and stuff!
Oooooh, that's interesting to hear.
I don't really use my IB's on DS anymore as I have others that I prefer, & I was going to swap them for smalls for the new bub, but I'll keep my mediums now.
Thanks girls
