Hi there!
I live near Surfer's and have an 11 month old son. Are you worried about offending people cos you're only looking for "oldies"?! Apparently, I fit the description being 31 (and ignoring the fact I am, in fact almost 32!).
Anyway, a few of us from around these parts have met up a few times. In fact, there's talk (another thread about it) of meeting at Kel's Cubbyhouse on Monday if you are free and/or interested! If not, would be good to catch up with you some other time!

Hi Babytoo & Scarlett

I am from Ashmore and I think I fit your description! I am 32 and have a 7 month old little girl. Isn't it sad that we are not in the catagory of 'young' anymore! I still feel young though!!!

I was also worried initially about not knowing any other mums with bubs, but you'll soon find you get to know quite a few. I meet up with some other mums from the bubhub site quite regularly. If you are interested, drop me a line! Be great to meet you!

There are quite a few playgroups around - check out Playgroup Australia on the Internet. Also, another great place to go and mingle with others is Gymboree - its behind Babies galore at Parkwood and its so cool for the kids. It's a big playtime for the bubs that is run by a teacher - you get a free trial session there, so its worth ringing up and going along for a look. I have met lots of really nice mums there.

Claire :)

Thanks Guys - thought about heading to Kel's on Monday...see how things pan out..don't know why but I just feel like a dill rocking up to a table of people I don't even know...lol...coming from someone who is from a sales and marketing background....lol

I want my son to meet some new friends as well....he goes to kindy but started a new one this year, has made friends there easily and the kids love him but for some reason never gets invited to any of the birthday parties...its a small quite exclusive kindy and I don't think I fit the profile of the other mums (god I hope none of the mums are on here!) lol

Anyway, great talking and I hope to get to know you all more

Hi Babytoo. I've been to a couple of the gold coast meets and everyone i have met have been really friendly. I'm a slacko and don't drive so it's a bit hard for me to get to some of them. I live in Broadbeach and go to a playgroup at Miami which is great....you can go along to any playgroup and check it out. They usually let you have 2 or 3 free visits before joining so you can decide if it's right for you.

Ages 0-4, there are a few 4 year olds.
The Playgroup is run by the church, it's Playgroup Association Affiliated (the church pays for insurance, so you don't need to be a Playgroup Association member) but it's not religious.
You just turn up! Gold coin donation, bring a water bottle for your child, playgroup provides morning tea (fruit, sandwiches) for the children, hot drinks and biscuits for parents. Aylee and I will be there, come and say hello! I'm the only dad, so should be easy to spot :D

Added:
No playgroup for the next three weeks, back on the 18th of July. Cost is increasing to $5 per family.
