How old are kids when they start losing their baby teeth?
Hayley has two loose teeth (top front ones) I think she knocked them the other day and now they're loose. I am worried she is too young. Don't kids lose their teeth around 6 years old?
I want to take her to the dentist but Grant says its too expensive.

DD lost hers 1 week before he 5th birthday and the second one 1 week after.
Are you in QLD? If so ring hospital dental and get the number for school dental van, its free and they are allowed to go the day they turn 4. You will just have to call them and find out where they are and take her there, could be at any number of schools around your area. They usually can do the same day appointment.
ETA - see you are not in Qld, but still Vic should still have school dental right? Try them first. As i said, its all free. Good Luck.

My DD turned 5 in March...she lost a tooth just the other day. Her 2 front ones were taken out in July last year because she knocked them and the teeth died causing her infection after infection and some pain.

Kids can start losing their teeth from age 4 like my DD did, it really varies.
I am in queensland and have been trying to find the same info Mum2bubba. So the school dental van? I tried googling this so I could make contact with them but no luck. Can anyone tell me is this something I should organise myself if I can find them or does it happen through the school? (she is in prep)

I jut rang hospital dental, and they gave me the moblie number for the school dentist, you get seen pretty much straight away although you have to go to the particular school the van happens to be at.

Take her to the dentist. Teeth can be saved and it would be a shame for her to lose her two front teeth too early.
You are right, they are usually lost around 6.
You won't have to pay the dentist immediately anyway.
And money is nothing compared to a child's health which includes teeth.
If she loses those front teeth her eating and mouth development will be affected.
Don't listen to Grant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Listen to you instinct as a mother ... men never get it really ...
