DH and i have decided to take the kids to Gold coast and visit Dreamworld. It will be mine and the kids first time. Im pretty sure we dnt need a passport (as mine is expired) since its domestic and i havent gone round to making the kids one either. DS is 3 & DD is 2, do they need some kind of photo id? because all they have is their birth certificates as form of identification.

Last time I traveled with DS I used his health record book as ID and they had no worries with that. I'm assuming a birth certificate would be fine.

You can give the airline a call and ask them to be sure though. I know when my mum was looking at coming up to brissy one time she rang and arranged with them that it was ok with what ID she did have because she doesn't have photo ID.

When I first took DS on a plane, I had to show his medicare card to prove he was mine and also a copy of his imm. record to show his DOB (as he was under 3yo and his flight was free, I had to prove he was under 3yo).

DS has flown about half a dozen times with me now, and only a month ago all of us flew together. All our flights have been with Qantas (except one) and I have never needed to show any ID for any of the kids. You can confirm this on their website.

If I recall the one time we flew Virgin Blue I didn't need ID for DS either, but that was a number of years ago now. There should be relevant info re this on their website.

Under 3 is free? which airline is this? we were planing to go on tiger air as their prices were quite cheap but kids over 2 are charged as well.
