hello & welcome to all the June mummies who've 'graduated' to this thread! :)
let us know about your bundles of joy - their personality, their milestones, etc
mine just LOVES cuddles! & she gets really bad wind, so she HATES lying down! it makes for a REALLY sore back (& not good when u have split tummy muscles!) i took her out for her first bus ride yesterday. we went to an australian breastfeeding association meeting. she must have known where we were, she wanted to feed the WHOLE time (she just kept switching breasts!!) are you all breastfeeding? i can see why some ppl choose to switch to the bottle! Qila sometimes feeds every hour (or less) for 10 - 20 mins. so, i get about 2 - 4 hours of sleep each night (i'll have to start sleeping during the day soon).
she has a very cute dimple in her cheek & a cute smile - can't wait till she has control of her smile! :) right from birth she's been VERY alert. & her neck muscles are strong enough to hold her head up. in fact i was shocked at hospital when the midwife picked her up without supporting her neck, till i realised she didn't need it!
Qila's wearing 00000s right now, & some 0000 (coz i don't own many 00000s!). she looks huge to me, tho (& quite heavy to hold) - & i can't imagine her being any bigger at birth! ouch!! i have soooo many cute 000 outfits, tho so i kind of can't wait to dress her up in them, but then again i don't want her growing too fast! ;)

Hi Killakaz, Thomas sounds very much like your bub as far a wind, he blows it out the bottom and we certainly have a lot of nappy changes, most of them are not just wet. He to loves the breast, mine have decreased due to him taking so much from me and that is saying something when you have DD Boobs. I enjoy the feeding and I am hoping he stays on for most of the year.
Due to Thomas only being little (6lb 6ozs) I am in the 0000s do not have any 00000s, and the 4 os are huge on him, luckily I had about 5 outfits so we are constantly washing them and we have also been given heaps of 000s so we will be set for ages. He will get his baby check on Monday, he is doing well though, has a little jaundice so at the moment he is in front of the window getting a few rays.
He is a real little cuddler as well, and just loves mum, he follows me around with his eyes to make sure I am within distance. Just loves Daddy as well which is great, Dad was with him more when he was born due to him having the fluid on the lungs and he was able to go to the nursery when I could'nt and I did not get my first breast feed until he was 4 hours old but had to make sure he was fine. He is really quite good at night normally getting about 3 hours sleep in the bassinet, then about 4-5am we bring him in with us and he gets more between 3-5hours as he snuggles in. When the midwife came around after I left the hospital he was in my bed (kingsize) and the midwife just laughed, and realised that we moved him to get the remainder of our sleep. She said it was fine as long as most of his sleep is in the bassinet, so I was pleased with that.
PS, you are from Brissie, which hospital did you have bubs in?? Might go and have a little nap as he is out to it. Talk soon.

i can't seem to get Q. to sleep in her bassinet unless she's fast asleep & even then she wakes up & cries half of the time! currently she is asleep on my shoulder, will try her in her bassinet soon...
i had her at redlands hospital. they were fantastic there. i went in midday tuesday & stayed till midday friday. i was allowed to stay till saturday, but i had ppl wanting to visit me at home, so i chose not to (plus they had a severe shortage of beds, so i didn't want to be selfish!) i could have easily gone home the next day, tho, as i didn't have any major problems.

I was at the Mater Mothers and even though I had a C-Section only was allowed 4 days which works out only 3 days officially which I think is far too soon. Have developed a large hematoma a few days ago approx 7cm however today it feels smaller. Also have some weeping through the scar so hoping I don't get a infection.
Thomas had a reasonable nights sleep with 2 x wakes then through to 9.30am in our bed for the final stint. He has been quite sleepy today, so we decided to go for a drive, got the other kids takeout McDonalds for lunch then we went to our house we are building to eat then back home.
I don't want to take him out with public for sometime until probably around 5-6wk mark. Mind you I just got a phone call from my sister today who told me 2 out of her 8 (yes 8) children has chicken pox. Luckily only one of the kids (without CP) came to visit and my sister who have had them however worried that they may have carried them so hoping like crazy bub is ok, that is the last thing I want to deal with, with bubs being only 9 days old.

andie_pandie - i hope bubs ended up being ok! any sign of chicken pox?
Qila still isn't sleeping well, she only sleeps for an hour or two at a time, unless she's upright against my chest, or over my shoulder (tummy resting on my shoulder) - then she'll sleep for hours, but it's not so good for me! ;) my stomach's been quite sore recently coz of carrying her around all the time - i split my tummy muscles whilst pregnant & so i'm SUPPOSED to be resting them!
she has put on quite a bit of weight. she was 2.95kg at her discharge, but 3.69kg just a week & a half later! it's scary to see how fast she's growing. but i can't wait until she's less dependant on me for amusement (ie she starts wanting to play with toys, & not wanting cuddles ALL the time!)

Lovely to Hear about you little possums Kaz & Andie. Its great to know other Bubs are similar in behaviours.
Our Heath was born 03/06. 3 1/2 weeks early. He lost too much weight in the hospital and wouldn't suck @ the breast at first so had to alternate feeds on breast & tube in SCN. Long story but it actually turned out that he was SEVERLY Jaundice....wasn't tested though til DAY 6!. I was not happy ( or sane) to say the least, but like I said - Long painful story.
He was weighed yesterday & came in at a wonderful 3.9kg. So I am happy with his progress. I think I am more the problem at the moment.. I am still finding myself bursting into tears ramdomly through the day! - so silly & off putting. Do you guys get the same?
Any way good to vent a little :ecomcity:
Angela (22)
DH - David (23)
DS - Heath Angus - Born 03/06/06:smiliedance:
Hey Angela,
Vent away. Heath Angus is a great name, a good boy's and man's name!
I only had one teary session. As my milk was coming in and Hugh just would not settle at 2am and we'd not been to bed yet. My fantastic husband was staying with me in hospital in a double bed and it was so comforting to snuggle up to him when the nurse took Hugh to the nursery with some expressed milk to feed him for us.
I must take my hat off to my lovely husband Angus- he's been absolutely fantastic. He got up last night to feed Hugh some expressed milk and change him while I slept through the whole thing!! While in hospital he would always be there with me to help persevere with breast feeding. And it paid off in the end and eventually we got there!!

How is everyone going? We are still having few problems with feeding...but she is putting on her weight so...that is one thing to be pleased about...this weekend I am off the boob completely...expressing every 3 hours and then andrew or my sister finger feeding Matilda every 3 hours too...we have an appointment with the breast feeding clinic tomorrow at 8 am and they are going to reattach Matilda to the breast and hopefully give me some advice on how to wake her up during feeds (she likes to fall asleep!) - funny cos she doesnt settle afterwards!! But generally on a 3 person rota means I am getting some sleep now and given a chance to recuperate...which I think was the midwives plan as I was feeding matilda for 2 hours and still having to top her up afterwards with finger feed...and my breasts not going down adn having to express anyway...I was getting no sleep and physically not able to do anything cos of c section...but hopefullya s I said clinic will help us out and was discharged yesterday from VMS to the Early childhood Nurse who I see on TUesday... been a bit teary as this all abit of a struggle...but been reassured I doing everything right, working really hard, and not to be hard on self cos the jaundice and weight loss and my c section will have thrown everything out of kilt...
Loving Matilda though...and just love the little girl thing...all the dressing up!! We went to a store yesterday which sells designer stuff at factory prices and they also had a 35% sale - so we walked away with about 10 items all for a modest $42.80!! tempted to go back when Andrew gets paid next hee hee...but prob wont cos sure she going to be growing out of everything really quickly!!

peanutsmum - i do find myself bursting into tears, but i guess in my case it's not so random - it's when i think of hubby's & my separation!! :( btw - sounds like heath's becoming a big boy!! Qila is also putting on weight fast - it seems to all be going to her face! lol. she's gunna be a really chubby bubby soon at this rate! ;) (last wednesday she weighed 4.04kg, she was discharged at 2.95kg!!)
kazza - u r one VERY lucky woman! even if my ex & i were still together, he'd NEVER do anything like that for me! good on u for meeting such a wonderful man! :D
my ex wants to have Qila on weekends (when we live seperately) & feed her formula when he has her! great way to stuff up the breastfeeding!! i'm gunna have to find a way to express a whole weekend's worth of milk when this happens, tho it'll confuse her greatly if weekends she has a bottle & weekdays she's on the breast! not sure how to handle this situation yet, ecept delay moving out (even tho centrelink have said i can only stay here 1 month if i'm to get a single parenting pension!!)
bekkyboo - i can't believe all the dramas u keep having! i hope both u AND garrett are in better shape now & have a fast recovery. i know pneumonia can be quite serious, garrett will be in my prayers!
georgiem - i know what u mean about the dressing up thing! i've just been using mainly hand-me-downs for 00000s & 0000s, but once Qila is into 000s, 00s & 0s she already has LOTS of pretty things! i hope feeding is getting easier for u now. i wasn't having too many troubles feeding Q. except i have an OVERsupply of milk, so she keeps choking & pulling off (while still sucking) then it sprays everywhere (especially all over her face & down my clothes! lol)
i have gotten into VERY bad sleeping habits with Q. but i don't mind (as long as it doesn't do her any harm) - i'm her mummy, i can spoil her! heh. when i give her the night feeds we do it lying down in my bed. to get her to the right height i have my arm under her head. she's now in the habit of sleeping like this at night, so when i try putting her in her bassinet, or even beside my in the bed without my arm under her - she fusses till i let her snuggle up to me (with my arm under her!!) i just worry about what this might do to her back alignment! i hope i'm not damaging her in any way! but, she likes the incline & i'm FINALLY getting her to sleep at night for about 2.5 - 3.5 hours between feeds, so i'm happy!
i kind of chuckle tho when i think about what a terrible time my ex is going to have when he starts taking care of her on weekends!! he's going to have difficulty working out how to get her to sleep! <insert evil laugh>

Hi Girls,
Figured I better move to our new thread.
Sounds like most of you are doing well and settling into your new baby routines.
Mackenzie is doing really well, she wakes four hourly (or we wake her) for feeds, we are currently doind 10, 2, and 6 both am and pm, which is working well. It means the only bad feed is 2am, which I don't mind doing and Phil does 6am, so I sleep in.
Bekky-I hope Garrett's health is improving. You poor thing, you've had a rough trot.
Kaz- Qila sounds like she's growing well, is she a little chubby bubba??
Georgie- sounds like you are having all the feeding dramas that I had. I have to say soing on to the bottle was so much less stressful and tiring. Plus Mackenzie is so much more settled.
We've taken Mackenzie on a few outings. We've been to both of our schools and out on shopping trips. I'm trying to get her used to being moved around as I don't want to have an unsettled baby when it comes to going out. Want to maintain some normallacy in my life. It will be much better when I can drive, at the moment relying on Phil, which is hard. Plus I can't lift the stroller or capsule. Bring on 6 weeks.
Talk soon, Mia
PS. Everyone's bubs look so cute in the avatars!!

garrett is doing alot better - trouble feeding now cause tubefeeding makes them lazy, so he has to be bottlefed to suppliment what he isnt getting from me - and my supply has dropped due to the stress of it all.
KK - dont worry about how Qila sleeps like that, Garrett sleeps like that from time to time at the moment. Especially since he got home from hospital, he has been really clingy.
He is such an angel baby, even being so sick - he still wasnt crying lots. He only crys when he really wants or needs something.

So excited just had to share it with you all..finally Matilda got the hang of the boob thing...she seems to have outgrown her laziness (from being finger fed) and latches on quite happily now...I saw the ECN yesterday who gave me shed loads of confidence about feeding at home...she also a lactation consultant and sleep therapist!! bonus!! Matilda now really happily draining my right and getting better on the left esp if I hold her under arm...lumps improving too...plus she slept from 1 am - 5am and from 6am to 10 am today my husband was ecstatic as he got some sleep in!! Here's hoping she continues!! :smiliedance: We are going to take her to a chiropractor too as apparently c section and assisted babies sometimes their heads dont remould right and this can cause probs with trapped wind (she has) reflux, and settling full stop...
Hey Georgie, great news! We had feeding difficulties in hospital, as soon as we got out and I was taking medication to help bring milk on, it all feel in to place. Automatically my confidence as a mother just soared! It was such a relief, especially as out here I can't go back to see someone any old time. Well done.

Hi Girls,
Bekky- glad to hear Garrett is doing better. Good to hear that you're healing was fast too. My dr told me 3 weeks for driving, 6 weeks back to normal. It'll be 3 wks next Wednesday, but I;ll see how I go and may be leave it to the following Monday which is when school hols finish so Phil will be back at work.
Georgie- glad to hear you've had success with feeding. Good work!
Kaz- you're sleeping habits with Q sound just adorable. I'm sure you're not spoiling her at all, if it feels right, do it!!
Having the early childhood centre visit on Monday, so mackenzie will be getting weighed. It will be interesting to see how much she's out on. Have to organise my visits too. Not sure how often I will have to go.
Have an of the early june babies got their baby bonus yet?? Just wondering how long it actually takes to comes thru.
Well Mackenzie has just woken up for her 10pm feed. Phil's cuddling her on the lounge. I better get the bottle organised for him while he's cuddling. :hugs:

we got our bonus this week... :) fingers crossed it might get me a new car!
Garrett has to see a paeds dr soon, fingers crossed for better sleeping habits then. At mo, he sleeps well in his bouncer, pram or in bed with us, otherwise he'll continue to wake. They are worried that he will bringup milk and then it go into his lungs and he;ll get sick again
Hope everyone is well

Hello All!
It's been a hectic month and I became uber hooked on cloth nappies and have been spending lots of time on another forum (sorry!) :(
bekky: sorry to hear that Garrett's been ill but good that he is recovering. The bonus comes really quickly doesn't it? I was very surprised!
kaz: Hope things are going well with you. How big was your bubs when she was born?
m2p: I put the baby bonus claim in on 26th and had it on the 28th! Mackenzie is such a pretty name!
kazza: I had a hard time initially sorting out b/f but once you get the hang of it it seems to be okay! Still little niggles along the road for everything! :)
georgiem: yay for Matilda! It's great when they sleep for a while although in my case with Sabrina I then have to go and check and make sure she's okay! :o
Sabrina was born on 4/6. Was a pretty good experience - can't remember if I've bored ya'll before so I won't say too much until I go and check what's been said already! :) At the moment she has RSV (I think that's what the midwife called it - basically just something bubs get this time of year... virus!). I've got the same thing so I'm just calling it virus! She has colic/reflux and is on zantac trying to control that. Poor baby screams all night / refuses to settle if she doesn't have it but I don't like being reliant upon it! Catch 22.
Dr prescribed Otrivin for her "runny" nose but said not to use too long because it can cause nose problems! Greaaaaaaat!
Anyhoo apart from that things are going pretty well. I had a bit of a crying spell one morning before the zantac was prescribed after Sabrina screamed all night but since then I have been fine. Stayed in hospital with her for 5 days in order to get the b/f right and also waiting results from the swabs they took from her at birth to determine what the blisters on her skin were.

Hi Girls,
Wow, I'm surprised the bonus came so quickly for you guys. I assumed I'd be waiting months for it. Maybe not!
Susan -Sabrina is a cute name! Sorry to hear she's not well. Hopefully she/and you get over the virus soon. You'll have to put a photo of her on your avatar for us to have a sticky at.
Mackenzie is a little unsettled tonight, which is unusual for her. We went out shopping today so she was a busy girl. She is two weeks old today. Aww!

we applied for ours on the 28th and no sign yet - the officer was really dumb though and said I was not eligible but on front of form it says those with a spouse provisional visa are eligible! so Andrew pointed that out plus the fact he is Australian and was applying in his name anyway! so dont know if that will hold ours up? We so need to pay the credit card (for all the baby costs)...and so card clear to buy ticket to uk for Xmas!!
Matilda had her head/neck manipulated yesterday by chiropractor as she has few probs due to c section/posterior thing - worked immediately she could rotate her head much further and seems to have shed loads less trapped wind...back again on Monday...however she not had another good night yet...but that may be cos I let her sleep in day?? she continually snacks from me at mo...but that okay - guess what i am here for!! at least it all feels much more comfya dn natural now...

Hey everyone - It's been awhile since i posted, Megan Elisabeth was born June 11, at 5.30pm after 48 hours labour - all went well, no stitches, happy baby
Went home and she lost over her 10% body weight so was put on 3 hourly feeding however she continued to drop in weight so we went back to the hospital, the paedeatrician was concerned she was having seizures so she had to have a lumbar puncture, CT scan, blood tests etc and then we were sent to the children's hospital where she still is after 2 1/2 weeks, they have narrowed down her problem to her not being able to break down milk properly, and a possible allergy to my breast milk, I have been living at the hospital until i developed the flu and have to be at home 4 a few days, and now her doctors tell me she has developed a temp which is very dangerous in such a little baby, they can't put a drip in her because her veins are to difficult so she has to go back tosurgery (3rd time) tonight and get a drip surgically implanted into her large vein in her neck of thigh, so they can deliver antibiotic's and stuff to make her gain weight, she is being continuously drip fed at the moment and i have given up on the whole breast feeding thing!!!
For the first time I have realised she could die and there's nothing i can do to protect her, I am sick with fear and guilt over things i cannot control, I don'tknow what to do!!!

OMG kiwibird - huge hugs to you, you and megan will be in our prayers. I know how difficult it is to have a bub in hospital when you cant do anything to help, you feel so helpless and powerless. Its a huge emotional rollercoaster, but hold strong to the faith that megan will get better - she is a little fighter... Things will pick up - all she needs right now is her mummy to love her. Dont let anyone make you feel bad for giving up breastfeeding (Garrett may still need to come off it after being tubefed and reflux problems) - you are still a great mum!
Please pm me if you need someone to talk to, im here 24/7 - i know this time is trying for you and your family - so please let me know if i can do anything... where abouts are you..?
Just curious if anyone here has their bub in a rutiene yet? Garrett is still very scattered - well not very, but i still dont think he is settled into a rutiene.

Hello to all the June mummies! I haven't posted here before but just wanted to say thank you thank you thank you! I have been feeling so bad that DS won't sleep in his bassinette and loves sleeping in our bed and is waking up at all sorts of scattered times. It is SO GOOD to know that i'm know the only one! Thanks for sharing your experiences...

kiwibird - my thoughts & prayers r with u at this time!! i don't think i could cope with the thought of losing Q. - she's all i have left in this world!! but, doctor's are brilliant & can treat so many things that seem untreatable. don't stress over breastfeeding, formula fed babies r just as happy & healthy ;)
*****************************************
things r going well with Q. she's still VERY demanding, but i had a realisation the other day - that all i've ever wanted was to be wanted/ needed by someone & so now i'm a bit happier about not getting sleep, etc. lol.
thursday, i bought a stroller coz the jogger i was given was too bulky & heavy to get in & out of buses. & the stroller has a cup-holder & snack tray - great for when out shopping! ;) tho, it's still hard to get Q. to use it! i end up carrying her in my sling & using the stroller to carry the nappy bag & any groceries! lol.
i'll be going out to buy a car seat today, hopefully. kmart has some on sale for $119. so that now means i can get ppl to take Q. & i places. also, i should have a car in a few weeks :fingerscrossed:
Q. was sleeping quite well during the nights, waking every few hours for a feed, then falling asleep straight away. however, the last few nights she has been wide awake after feeds & it's been driving me nuts! she still won't sleep much during the day, only if she's carried around! i don't get any housework done - but that's life! ;) the state of the house actually has been getting to me, so yesterday i left her in her bassinette - screaming her head off - while i tidied & vacuumed the house. i felt horrible leaving her there crying, but was so relieved to FINALLY have a neater house!
how are you all coping with housework?
SweetDreams

kiwibird :hugs: :hugs: to you. I hope things improve soon. Let us know.
killakaz: housework? What's that?! lol I try and keep the place reasonably tidy but DH has the unfortunate lot of doing most of it due to Sabrina requiring fairly constant attention - I have escaped for the moment because DH's on nightwork and still in bed... she's sleeping on him! LOL Other issue is my hands being stuffed up due to pregnancy but I try to do as much as I can.
Hope everyone is keeping well!
Susan :)

Kiwibird- i'm so sorry to hear about little Megan. How awful for you. It must be very scary and it must have been horrible having to leave her in the hosp. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm sure everything will be fine and you'll have your beautiful little girl home soon. :hugs:
In regards to housework, I'm lucky enough to have Phil off so we're keeping on top of things. I can't hang out washing or do anything too strenuous as yet, so Phil's taking care of all that. I'm a bit anal when it comes to these things. Plus cause I'm not out and about much we always have people here which means I like to keep the place pretty clean and tidy. We seriously haven't had one day pass without visitors since
I've been home
Mackenzie has settled into a routine, but that could be due to the fact that she's bottle fed. I know exactly how much she drinks, so I know she's due every four hours. From what I've been told though, they snap out of their rountines pretty quickly, so I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
We had a major projectile vomitting incident last night. I heard her crying so I went in and her head was covered, ner bassinette and she managed to spew up and over the bassinette onto the carpet for about a metre. No exaggeration! Poor little bubba. It scared me, then I was concerned about her all night, so every noise she made I got to check her.

well we had a couple of awful nights with settling Matilda...she not wanting to sleep at night at all...and doesnt seem to like the cot, or carry cot or grobag anymore...the only way we been able to get her to sleep is with us - I know it is not what is recommended and that it a tough habit to break but what do you do when you had 3 hours sleep in 48 hours...and I tried the huggies thing about settling her, and tried winding her for hours and feeding her non stop and still she screams...unless she snuggled up with us... she has another appointment at chiropractors on Monday so hopefully that will help?!? they scare you to death about SIDS and I am petrified about this co sleeping but am totally bemused about what else to do...sometimes do you not think too much information is harmful...I am seriously getting neurotic about what surely is the the most natural thing to soothe and settle your baby...gosh this baby stuff hard work...nto one thing happened easily yet for us...but I guess that pretty normal!

Qila has been vomiting a little, but luckily she hasn't projectile vomited!! since we co-sleep i have a few face cloths handy so i can wipe up any mess straight away & if i manage to get her to sleep next to me instead of on my arm, i put one under her head to catch any. i can just imagine what'd happen if she projectile vomited - i'd be wearing the lot!
as for co-sleeping, i don't really see the danger, as long as u keep anything away from bub's face that might smother him/her! i've been wearing jumpers to bed so that i don't need the doona up too high, or i'll have it so it *just* covers me & doesn't go near Q.
i had a bit of a surprise this morning when i had a shower - i got stretch marks on my belly!! i thought i was home free, but they managed to reach me in the end! i'm not too worried, tho. i USED to show off my belly lots when i was a few years younger, but i can't imagine getting my six-pack back ever again now!
yesterday i went to kmart & was hoping to buy their advertised carseat for $119 - but they were all sold out! the other day when i went they had a stack of about 10, but i had no way of getting it home. so i went with my sis. yesterday & they were all sold out! :crying: at least i was (finally) able to buy some nappy pails, so now Q. is finally wearing her cloth nappies!! now i don't stress out so much when she dirties them STRAIGHT after changing them!!

Morning mummies! Oops afternoon now!!!
BB - glad to hear Garrett is home and doing much much better!!!!
Kiwibird27 - Sorry to hear Megan is not very well at all.... Praying that things start to improve with her help and that you get all the support you need to cope ! :hugs: to you!
KiLLaKaZ - What kind of nappies are you using on Q?? I am using Baby Beehinds - Bamboo on Drew (and on my older DS) and have fallen in love with them!!!
Georgiem - you are right sometimes to much info can be harmful - particularly when it is condradicting (sp??).... my advice is take on board advice recieved from people you trust and to also trust your motherly instinict!
M2P - Bottle feeding does have that advantage (Drew is bottle fed also) of knowing exactly how much bub is getting. Hope there have been no more projectiles!
Sweetdreams - I am with you.... Housework??? lol Although I have been lucky - my mum has been here from Townsville for the last few weeks so she has been keeping my place clean (she is a real neat freak!!!), God help us when she goes home on the weekend and my DH is back at the mine!!!
Oh well must go and feed my boys.... I did try and become a regular in the Due In June thread but always got losts in the posts.... I will try really hard this time in this thread!!!

had garretts weekly weigh in today - little bugger is 5.7kg - gaining around 400g in a week (again!) - so thats 1.6kg gained on birth weight in 5 weeks. Nurse said they go on an average of 150g gained a week... so Garrett is well ahead of that.
Got into trouble for not giving him enough tummy time, but in my defence i got told to do that at 2 and a bit weeks, not long after he was in hospital, and we are just settling back into being at home.. So today i have been going nuts with tummy time (in fact he is having a sleep now on his belly - i know bad bad, but im watching him and he looks so comfy). Hows everyone elses bubs going with neck control and such?
I bought garrett one of the little pillow thingos that go either side so he can safely sleep on his side to help with his reflux. He loves it, must be that it sits so snuggled against him... Oh, he has been placed on zantac for his reflux (he hates taking it, makes me sad to give it to him), so i had to start him on infacol as well cause it makes his wind problems worse.
Stu'sChick - yes become more regular - make the boys be heard!
anywho - since i cant see my little one from here i prob should go check on him, and take this oportunity to go to the toliet as well !!!!

stu's chick - i just use fitted cloth nappies i got off ebay. nothing special. when she grows out of this size, i might see about getting her some more 'advanced' ones. lol. there are sooooo many different ones out there i had NO IDEA existed!
bekkyboo - :o i haven't been giving her tummy time much at all - i keep forgetting!! luckily she's been able to hold her own head up since she was born, tho ;) so i can just pretend i have been... ;)
Q. hasn't been weighed for a few weeks - everyone took the school holidays off around here!! :( i REALLY wanna know how much she weighs, tho. i wanna prove to my MIL that she has NOT gained too much weight!!

matilda weighed in at 4.4 yesterday - she still not settling unless on me or by me really except in car or pram - hates her rocker but maybe too diddy for it? and as for tummy time well she either sleeping, screaming or feeding so I not done any but she has very strong head control and can pretty much hold up:D
i tried her on tummy yesterday in desperation but she screamed even more!!

i just HAD to come on here & post this....
Q. has given us some pretty gorgeous smiles, but they were just faces she was pulling, didn't really mean anything. anyway, this morning i was making kissing motions towards her & she gave me a HUGE grin! it lit up her face & shoiwed off her cute dimple! :D anyway, i wondered if she meant it, or if she was still trying out pulling faces, so i did the kissing motions again, & AGAIN i got the same huge grin! :D unfortunately i've tried it again a few hours later with no reaction, tho :(
has anyone's bub smiled yet? isn't it the BEST experience?! i almost cried!!

hey kaz... Yeah Garrett has been smiling for a couple of weeks now. Usually will do it when i smile really big at him. Jase blew rasberries on his cheeks today and he did it.
On my msn pic i have him with Jase smiling really big. But i dont think that his smile would cheer me up at the moment. I am dead tired and he woke up for his 2 am feed but hasnt gone back down since. I had to leave the room cause i was getting so frustrated with him. He just kept spitting his dummy. I didnt want to offer him more feed as his reflux is shocking and he is bringing up heaps, so i dont want him falling asleep and bringing some up.
Oh well sounds like silence in there, i might see if i can get some sleep now.

oh poor bekky!! :hugs:
but, u r so lucky garrett has been smiling for so long! i've been TRYING for weeks to get her to smile/ giggle! but i think the ones she has done were all just coincidences.
Q. has REALLY settled down heaps lately. i'm able to leave her for short lengths of time without her crying for me! unfortunately i don't get much done in that time, i spend it procrastinating! lol. i REALLY should get on with packing my stuff as i'll be moving out of here asap (as soon as packed ;))
the other night Q. slept for 6 hours straight!! :D i had to keep checking she was breathing coz it was so unlike her. i just wish i had of slept at the same time!

So much for becomming regular...... :o
We have had a shocking week..... first off we got a call that DH's Great Aunt had died (she had been gravely ill for some time so in this case it was a blessing that she is finally out of pain and in a better place) and then not 24 hours later we got devasting news that his cousin was killed in a rather nasty accident with a semi - now that was such a waste as he was only 29 and had so much going for him... :gloomy: So we have been with DH's family for the last few days.....
On a brighter note, Drew saw the ECHN on Thursday morning and he now weighs 4kg (at 7 weeks). Like garrett he puts on more then the average weight gain each week!!! But she is really happy with the way he is growing. We go back to see the paed next Tuesday for his 6week post hospital check up.
Wow you guys are getting smiles already!!! Drew has let some escape but not many.... hopefully he will start to do more soon!
KiLLaKAZ - good luck with moving! We moved when Ryan was 4 months old and teething.... that was not fun!!!! But it looks like we might be moving soon ourselves - well that is if everything goes our way and our home loan gets approved!
BB - hope Garett slept alot better for you last night!!!! And yes we do need to make our boys heard!!!

Hi girls,
I'm back! Been so excited that I was able to drive again this week that I've been out and about all week.
Sounds like all the bubs are doing well.
glad to say we've had no more projectiles:barf: since the last experience.
BB- it is strange that there haven't been many boys born. Even within my circle of friends with kids there haven't been any boys. These poor girls will have no one to marry!!
Phil went back to work this week, so it has been Mackenzie and on our own. Phil's having withdrawels. But as I said we haven't really been home tat much anyway. It's amazing how much longer it takes to get out of the house, although I am getting better.
I haven't been doing much tummy time either, she always she tired after a feed so she's not really in the mood. I have started reading her bedtimes stories tho, so that it becomes part of her routine. (I'm such a teacher)
I'll try not to leave so long between posts this time.

Hi Girls,
Just wanted to say that mackenzie smiled today. It was so cute and I happened to be videoing her at the time. We were doing tummy time, and she was lifting her head and turning each way, so I was cheering for her. When I cheered she gave me a huge open mouthed smile. So cute. I'm so glad I got it on camera, and that meant Phil got to see it too. Yeah!!! :smiliedance:

thats great Bekkyboo:smiliedance: ...Matilda looks so cute when she moves hear head up and around (she been doing for a while but think that cos she over due??) almost poltergeisty as it goes right around!! she crawling up my tummy and andrew's when we place her on her tummy or at least pulling herself up!! she smiling lots now big wide grins and lickle smiles and not just wind as we can do certain things to get them!! still hates tummy time on floor/mat...but will do it on my tummy so thats okay...been a real angel this weekend we went away and she was the most placid little girl all weekend really performed for her great granny and rellies! bit of a stinker when we got back here though maybe it was cos I was less stressed not thinking about housework and relaxed when we away??? but she slept on friday night for 6 and half hours right through from 11.45 to half 6...couldnt believe it but my boobs were exploding!! and Saturday she slept 5 hours and last nightwas from 11.30 to 5 ... she still tricky to get settled after last feed but getting there!!
Still gets bad wind but the chiro improving that and I going to try camomile tea - apparently softens digestive system and works really well - much better than infacol etc...I'd rather give her something natural anyway...
did anyone know what MRs Robo had?? Just not seen her online since her due date - probly got her hands full!! I can only get on here when Tillie sleeps and then I miss out on eating if I stay on too long!!
Hope all the little june bubbies making their mummies as happy as I am - this is the best!!!!:smiliedance:

georgiem - you made me realise something - I might be expecting a bit much off garrett, he was classed as premi as he was born at 37 weeks! He also sleeps for 5 hours straight at night, hoping to get more soon, he would sleep "right through" but seeing as tho we go to bed at 9 -9.30 as jase starts work early - i cant expect him to sleep RIGHT through :p poor little man would be starvin marvin.
Had the peads appointment today - he is thriving despite having severe reflux. 6.34kg bare weight today (7weeks 1 day) is 59cm long (think its closer to 61 - chick wasnt looking very well) and 40.5 HC - so in other words - BIG BUGGER... As the zantax made him worse, the other drugs available for reflux wouldnt be any good so we will start from tonight on formula feeds 3 times a day. So down on bf, can see the good and the bad - so meh. I just want him to get better - poor little man almost convulses sometimes when he trys to bring it up :(
anyhow - jase is being a darl and looking after bubs - so i best go and relax. I have my 6 week check up tomorrow, wish me luck :)

Hi Girls,
Our phone lines have been playing up, I think due to the rain so I haven't been able to connect. Luckily a technician came out and fixed them so we're back in action
Poor Garrett, you feeel so sorry for them when they throw up. I hate hearing Mackenzie cry, it makes me sad.
I never thought about babies being overdue. Mackenzie loves tummy time, and is really good with her head support too. She has been pretty strong since she was born tho. She has been pooing after every feed, my God, I don't know how she produces so much poo! But then she got a bit of nappy rash from it. But we've been putting cream on at every change and now it's gone. It didn't seem to bother her.
meeting a girl from my pre natals tom, she had her little boy the day after Mackenzie was born.
I'm off to watch The OC, sadly I've managed to get hooked on it this season.

hows everyone else going with day time sleeps? Garrett is a day to day bubba... He really needs to sleep, he sleeps for amin or two - then the dummy comes out, and WAAAAAHHHHHHHHH - im trying a bit of controlled crying now, I give him alittle bit and then comfort, then leave when he is still awake, hoping this will help him to fall asleep on his own.
Had his weekly weigh in today- 6.66kg... OUCH.... he is only 7 weeks old.

Georgiem- it must be so hard to not see your DH for so long, especially. My niece loves her little people farm, she's 17 months, she starts it up and does a dance. So cute!!
Bekky- Mackenzie so of dozes on and off during the day, most of the time she's happy. But if she's been awake a lot between one set of feeds she normally sleeps well in the next slot, cause she's tired. But at night she doesn't wake between feeds and that's what matters the most!
Can't believe Garrett's in 00s. Mackenzie's still in 0000s and she's 5 wks tomorrow. Going to get her weighed on Friday. So i'll let you know what she weighs.

Hey Susan - Sabrina and Garrett Share a birthday... What time was see born, and was she early, on time or overdue?
Garrett is doing well on his formula feeds, at the moment we are having 2-3 formula feeds a day then the rest bf. This morning he decided that he had enough of the bottle with 25ml left, so i left it at that, then 10min later he was trying to get into the boobs, so i put him back on for a quick top up. 5 min of feeding he was off - then 2min after that, up comes the top up mixed with some formula. Im feeling a little horrible. Its my milk that is causing his problems. Oh he is already moved into the 2month dose for feeding, dr said to as he was still very hungry after the 2week-2month dose of 120ml! HA HA - big bugger for a reason.

Hey Bekky,
Sabrina was due on 1/6 so she was 3 days o/d. Born at 5:03pm. What about your little guy? :)
Had her 2 month check up today and she's now a whopping  4.88kg, HC 39cm and Length 56cm. She's put on a fair amount of weight and the CHN seems happy with her so it's all good.
The feeding is a challenge to navigate some days! She'll fall asleep and then wake up 10-15mins later crying and wailing like I tricked her into falling asleep!!! heehee :) So I'll have to stop and put her back but a good portion of the time she'll feed and then she'll sleep. Only problem we have is when she just refuses to sleep after a feed and by the time she's considering sleeping she's hungry again.
Sabrina will also vomit at least 1x day. It's hard to tell what sets it off! I try not to move her too much for a while after she finishes her feed but I like to rest her on my shoulder instead of across my lap to help with wind. I keep getting told to watch what I eat and only eat bland things by CHN. It's a bit hard to keep that together some days when simply being able to make something to eat is a challenge!
Susan :)

Hey susan,
Garrett was born at 6:05am and he was 2weeks and 1 day early (due on 19th - but planned ceaser booked for 14th)and weighed in at 9pnd 1... so big bugger - glad he didnt got full term.
Garrett has severe reflux, so vomiting is a big thing in our house. My Niece is 4 months now and she has silent reflux, and my SIL has found that letting her rest on her side after a feed (like not moving her much as if she was still feeding) has helped. This helps garrett sometimes. Others he will jsut be sick anyway. The formula has been the best help for him so far.

hi all - seems like june bubs have reflux!! matilda now puking after every feed... which frustrating for both of us ...seeing chn next week so will ask advice - last week M weighed 4.6 so she nearly as big as Sabrina and 3 weeks younger!! but she was 4.2 when born...now 5 weeks...anyone else got like red milk spots on bubs bottom - is this nappy rash?? just developed overnight...not changed anything?? also when do the violent watery poos stop?? we did some rudey nudey time last night on mat and she projectile pooed across sitting room about 2 metres no huggies mat catching that one !! :barf: hilarious though!!:D
mum2peanut
29-07-2006, 19:53
Hi Girls,
Georgie- those projectile poos sound fun!! I thought the projectile vomit was bad but that's much worse. Our poos are more like a soft serve ice cream type effect.
Fortunately Mackenzie doesn't have reflux, after her projectile we do try and burp her several times through out her feed tho, just in case.
Mackenzie weighed in at 4.44kg yesterday, the nurse said all her measurements were perfectly proportioned. We don't have bug head syndrome, as yet.
We haven't had any spots on the bum, just a bit of a rash, which cleared up after a day of putting cream on it. We keep putting cream now as a preventative, and give her nudey time too.
Susan we're having the same prob with clothes sizes, although there is one brand I've found that is a smaller make, so she fits into 000.
Bekky-What is silent reflux?

Hi Guys,
I haven't posted for ever such along time. But Heat was Born 03.06.06 - 8/52 vacc tomorrow, has gone so quick. We also have issues with his sicking.
At first he was throwing up 3-4 time a day & because he lost too much weight is the hospital (born 3.5 weeks early) & he REFUSED my breast (only took L side:banghead: ) I worried my but off & thought he had Pyloric stenosis. Thankfully it has subsided some what however, he still Vomits once a day to once every two days.
It can be very off putting to see your little one launch what looks like a gallon milk back up.. Heath makes quite a distance some times:barf: . I hate to see it poor little mite but it doesn't seem to phase him much.
We too find it hard to predict. Sometimes he has a full 150-160ml & will keep it down & go straight to sleep & then other feeds he has 60ml, throws up then has another 40 or so straight after. It is very frustrasting..lol. The things we endure .
I have found that the best thing to do with him is sit him up for a little while after & give him a good burp.. Also I also roughly an Hour for a feed from Start to set down.
Hopefully all our little "spewer's" will grow out of this sooner rather than later. :fingerscrossed:
Cheers!

Mia - Silent reflux is they are bringing it up but not out. So they will cry and fuss because the acid still burns their throat, but they dont actually bring any milk up.
Garrett is doing SO SO much better on the formula. Will settle better for longer which is really nice. But because of the weaning, my supply has dropped and im now worried it will drop of completly. We are planning now to completely wean next month when his immune system is a bit stronger as he is doing so well on the formula.
Anywho - best dash before the boy awakes .

Hi,
Bekky- Silent refllux sounds awful. How horrible! I didn't do hand and foot prints, but I have had the moulds done professional by Twinkle Toes. We should get them in a couple of weeks. We also put a photo in with her hand and foot. Your av is very cute!!
Angela- congrats on Heath's arrival. we haven't had injections yet, two weeks time. I'm not looking forward to it.
Mackenzie had her 6 wk check and the paediatrician today. All went well, he said she seems to favour looking at her left so to put some stimulus at her right so that she doesn't get a flat head. No one wants that!
She is 6 weeks old today! Yeah! I've got my check up next week, which means hopefully I'll get the all clear to be back to my normal self again. not that I'm looking forward to hanging out washing.
Talk soon.

been a really long week...Matilda had really bad reflux, which making her so unhappy she writhes and goes blue and arches back after feeds...I trying really hard not to get upset too but hard when your little one in pain...however the chiro definitely relieves this as does now I have put her bed on 30 degree tilt with help of yellow pages!! Despite not wanting to give her any poisons resorted to panadol just to help ease the pain at nighttime when she and I tired and it seems to be worse...thank heavens Andrew home on Mon night for few days...I had a real blue day on thursday where I was beside myself as not only was Matilda sad, the puppy was crying incessently, and andrews ex was causing us real trouble again, and I have recently found out my mother is really sick and I think that finally hit home...but seem to be brighter yesterday and today so think was just a blip!! :fingerscrossed:
Last night was funny Matilda normally hates tummy time unless on me but when I tried to settle her she wouldnt settle on back or side but I put her on tummy and she fell asleep (maybe relieved pain??) anyway I waited then turned her back over before I fell to sleep...and it worked...though this morning she wasnt having a bar of tummy time at all...:(
had to pack away a few clothes today (do sad!!) they were newborn and up to 7.5lb stuff which funnily although she not ever been under 3.2 kilos she fit into up until this week...she very long I think cos she certainly not filling anything just getting too short...but so many 000 stuff to big so I just putting her in 0-1 months stuff I have from UK until she outgrows and grows into the rest of her 000 clothes.
She weighed on thursday 5200g not sure what in pounds but was 4600 two and half weeks ago so obviously still getting lots of milk in...she certainly fills enough nappies!
Tried to use babyloves but she just leaks out of them all the time...even once you pull out the bits...not even good for day...so expensive huggies it is...typical!!
right better go shower etc as she is out for the count but who knows for how long?!?!?
spk soon Georgie

Sabrina has been on Zantac since she was about 3 weeks old to combat the problems with reflux/colic etc. We notice big time if she misses a dose. :crying: It usually involves me with no sleep pacing the floors all night whilst she cries her little heart out. I'm hoping she's growing out of it.
She was waggling her legs in the air the other day while I was organising to change her (nappy off). I heard her fluff and thought oh well there's a towel under her to deal with it if she poos... next minute big projectile poo just as she waggles her butt up - off it went straight off the change table all over me and the floor!!!!
My hand problem is getting worse if anything. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and take the referral to the hand therapist. Unfortunately holding Sabrina exacerbates the issue but who wouldn't/couldn't hold their baby?!
Sabrina's vaccination appointment is on Monday. :)

Hello Ladies,
I have just found this thread. I had my DS2, Justin, on the 13th June at 5.08am. He was 2 1/2 weeks early by c-section. He weighed 2.64gms(5lb10oz), lenght 49cms and hc was 33cm.
Everything went well. I went into labour on the monday(didn't know it though) and after the soccer finished we went to the hospital. Once they checked me we went off to theatre.
We have only had a couple of problems with justin. Major problems with BF. He was still losing weight at 2 weeks so I put him onto formula. Since going onto the formula he has had colic. He was on karicare formula but is now on heinz and no colic. :smiliedance:
Me on the other hand has had problems. I ended up with bruised and blistered nipples, then thrush of the nipples. So that was another thing that encouraged going onto formula. Since my 6 week check I have had major bleeding problems, but that is in another post.
For some reason I just can't seem to get him into a routine and he likes to stay awake for long periods in between feeds. He really fights going back to sleep, especially around 3-4 am when my eyes are hanging out of my head. Also some nights he will wake up twice for a feed.
Is anyone else in a routine yet and how do you get your bubs off to sleep?

Georgi-sorry to here things were not going too well. It happens tho, you seem to get a run of bad things that happen and all of a sudden you crumble. My life's has been a bit like that for the last couple of years. So many bad things happened in a row. i'm having the same issue with Mackenzie and clothes. She seems to have long limbs, otherwise she'd prob fit into 0000 for a bit longer. Mackenzie weighed 4.5 kilos at her 6wk check up.
Susan- that poo sounds like fun. We've been having Mr Whippy style poos, huge ones. Last night we had a Mr Whippy,, then a projectile nugget, then more Mr Whippy. Needless to say our room didn't smell too good.
Mum2_5- I've been very lucky with mackenzie, she has pretty much been routined since I brought her home. She was on formula from Day 5 tho, cause I didn't get any milk. She is on Karicare Gold. I've tried hard to her to distinguish night from day. She's always in her rocker during the day with the tv on and noise around her, and at night it's quiet and dark. She always sleeps soundly at night, i wake her for a 2am feed. And during the day she sort of drifts in and out of sleep a bit more. And we play and do tummy time. I feed her four hourly at 10, 2 and 6 night and day. It's working so far, but I have been lucky.
Had my 6wk check up today and got the all clear to return to life as normal. Can't weight to see my niece tomorrow so I can pick her up and give her a cuddle. :smiliedance: It's been 7 weeks since I could pick her up:no:

I got all clear too - so swimming and fitball back in!! and yeh I cna lift heavier things now too - though I have been naughty and been lifting laundry for few weeks now...Matilda got conjuctivitis which is really icky...but other than that she got all clear too! next big hurdle immunisations!! her reflux seems to have got a bit better as I am feeding her upwards ie i lean back and she feeds up off my boob...I doing demand feeding so no routine yet but that okay...she still gets up in night but does re settle better I suppose...cant do the rocker thing as she screams after 10 minutes in that...we just use her cot now all day and night and sometimes her carry crib if she really tetchy...lots of story books, playing and trying to do tummy time though it pees her off!!
speak next week!! :D

heya all
garrett is having his 3rd nap for today :p - he id loving his tummy naps, so im letting him have that during the day when i can keep an eye on him.
he had his shots on monday - he has been grumpy on and off ever since... doesnt help that it is warm here too... he is smiling so much now, and sometimes we can get a giggle. He will try and crawl when he is upset and on his tummy, he pushes off with his legs, and his chest slides along. He is getting really good with his head control, although he isnt at the point of holding it completely yet. geting close tho.
he is 7.2kg now and 62.2cm long - very big boy - in 00 and 0!
anyway best go ice his daddy's "cheer up" cake - he is feeling rotten that money is bad at the moment and he thinks he isnt supporting us like he should...

Bekky- you are a nice wife. It is hard when one is only working. I'm still getting maternity leave payments but only half pay. Spend last week trying to re-budget so that we can afford our home loan. Not helpful when the interest rates rise, but anyway what can you do.
Tummy time is so cute isn't it. Mackenzie just loves it. Her head control is quite good too, it's amazing how long she can hold her head up. She does the same with her legs it's so funny. Off on a shopping trip to Sydney wit mum tomorrow. She was up there a couple of days ago and said there's cute summer clothes, so I might go and spend some money!
Spent the day organising Mackenzie's baptism, she's having a joint one with my niece. We ordered the cake today-it's beautiful. Can't wait to see it.

Hi !
Things have been a bit busy here recently so sorry haven't had a chance to write!
Sabrina was immunised last Tuesday and poor little thing the nurse jabbed her so hard and blood ran down her leg! :( She had to have three needles and by the 3rd she was over it. I think the nurse was unnecessarily hard with the jabs though. She ended up with hard, red lumps on her legs which we were told can happen and they seem to be subsiding now.
She had her community health appointment on Friday and she now weighs 5.63kg. She put on 750grams in 2 weeks! LOL I was wondering why some of her nappies were getting tight!
Hope everyone is keeping well.
Susan :)

Hi Natalie- welcome to June Mummies
Susan-that nurse sounds a bit brutal. I'm going to book Mackenzie in for next Monday. I'm taking her to my GP so hopefully they'll be a bit more gentle. Was going to get her done on Friday, but I've got a hen's night in Sydney on Saturday, so we're staying up there in a hotel. I didn't think it would be too good if she didn't react well. Plus then Phil would be stuck with a screaming baby in a hotel room. I wouldn't be able to get to him wither cause we're going on a harbour cruise.
Mackenzie is smiling so much now and has began to notice dangling toys. I put one on her pram when I went shopping and she spent the day smiling at it. So cute!!

Okay it's 5:40am and I have given up on getting any sleep tonight. It's not because of Sabrina - I just can't sleep! I'm hoping by staying up and being comatose for the day I will sleep tonight. That's the plan anyway... whether it works or not!
I'm currently doing loads of washing because for some reason I want to clean house. No clue why... I hate housework! lol
Sabrina is doing well. She too is smiling and giggling. She is taking more notice of things around her and responding to toys etc. Nappy-free time is a favourite of hers!
I will try and update my avatar with a picture taken yesterday.

Garrett is getting closer to a giggle - he screams because he doesnt know what sound to make - otherwise its a "ha ha ha" sound.... very funny.
He slept through last night!!!!!! WOOT WOOT. he was waking at 2am for a feed, but has been extending to 3am and today was 6am.
Susan - i was the same last night. I was just lying in bed thinking. I couldnt sleep for the life of me for ages. and DH started snoring - so that made it harder again. I was too comfy to get out of bed to do cleaning otherwise i prob would have too. But all the cleaning i need to do is in our room. I desperatly need shelves or more drawers.

Matilda loves nappy free time too - every morning we play nakey time on her changer and I massage her and she in her element making cooing sounds and smiling, laughing etc...its just so sweet!! she not sleepingthrough at all I think the couple of long nights through we had were flukes!! she needs a feed about every 2-3 hours and after her 5 o clockish one always ends up back in bed with me...though that may be me wanting it more than her?? She really growing up :) and starting to make happy noises and sounds all the time (when she isnt screaming, feeding or sleeping that is) and really moving about now too - kicks lots and if on her side rolls on to her tummy...so no leaving her to sleep on her side anymore...she also spends lots of time pulling my hair which makes her giggle and brings tears to my eyes!! Cant wait to get her measured next week to see how tall she is now...although I know she growing as her clothes get too short rather than filled out...I try not to think too much about what needs to be done ie housework, things mended and other stuff as I have been getting obsessive about it...trying to chill out and just be!! stuff the housework I say :)

Ive been using housework as an escape and relief from my pnd. Its nice to be able to just do something that is unrelated to garrett or jase. and as a bonus, the house stays in order :) that always makes me happy.
Garrett has colic :( but its nice to know whats been making him sad. Because when then they are on their belly's, the pressure relieves the pain, i have started sleeping him on it during the day when i can keep an eye on him. He loves sleeping on his belly, and i spose this is why - his pain is relieved from it.
He is has developed a ruitene which is really nice. We wake around 6.30 -7... sometimes stay in bed till 8. We get up, have a feed and a play (all of which take up around 1 1.5 hours) then i put him back in his cot and he goes back to sleep for a couple of hours. We have got in the habit of putting him down awake so that he puts him self to sleep, and it has worked a treat :) I put him down this morning, he wasnt yawning or anything, put his dummy in, he grissled for bout 5sec, then went straight to sleep. Very clever boy.
We have lots of play time at the moment. Not much nudie time tho - he doesnt like it too much, i spose cause when we play its in the morning, and the house is cold. But we play by singing and tickling. His favourite at the moment is when i buzz my hand like a bee around in the air then slowly make his way down face where i put my whole hand over his face and buzz... he smiles like mad. His laugh at the moment is still consisting of "ha............ha..............ha" or a yell. we had small giggles last night, but im waiting for his controllable laughter. He is such a quiet little man, he does have his little chatters, but not a great deal, he'd rather sit and smile at you.
well i better get somethings done, and check on monkey man

Well Hi again, life has been pretty hectic around here so this is the first chance I have had to get back on the net.
Brooke was born on the 20/06/2006 at 3.33kg and 48cm long. Man how time flys. She was 9 days early so I was pretty lucky!
Brooke's growing really well and sleeps from about 7pm to 6am with one wake at about 3am for a feed which is getting shorter and shorter so I am hoping that it might be ending soon touch wood:fingerscrossed: (I may have just cursed myself saying it aloud! ) Brooke's not too big on being naked, so our nappy free time doesn't last too long but her bum is looking good so I am not too worried. She is yet to give us her first giggle but her smile is getting bigger and bigger and she is really quite chatty so I am sure that it isn't too far away. Or maybe I am just not that funny!!!
We had immunisations last week, the poor little thing, she was so happy just before them and just the way that she looked at me after the first needle, I felt like I had totally betrayed her trust, if only you could explain that they were good for her, it would make it easier! She was pretty sleepy for the first day after but has been pretty good since then.
Bekky, it is good that you can use housework as an escape, I am usally trying to escape from the housework, alas that doesn't seem to work and more just builds up!:banghead:
Brooke too is just loving play time and really enjoys being read to especially the book 'the pokey little puppy', who would have thought. Aren't their smiles just so worth all the work and early mornings!
Well hope that everyone is going well!
Take care
Natalie

Hi Girls,
Haven't been on much this week. :( Phil's had a cold so we've tried to limit his contact with mackennzie. Which ultimately means I've been doing all the feeds (now i know how all the breast feeding mummies feel!!)
I've had the same sleeping issues. Th other night after her 2am feed I didn't fall asleep until 4.30am, and then had to wake up at 5.45am. Major headache! We didn't want to risk Mackenzie getting sick cause she gets her shots on Monday. So Phil's been sleeping in another room.
Once she is over her shots I'm going to leave her and see how long she sleeps for. I currently get up at 2am to feed her so we'll see how we go.
Mackenzie is very chatty. And is a major sticky beak. She hates sleeping when we go out cause she misses out. She has started to giggle and notice her hanging toys which is lots of fun. she also enjoys no nappy time and loves her baths, it's so cute.
We're off to Sydney for the night tomorrow, her first little holiday. Hopefully she sleeps well in the hotel and is good for her dad while mum is on the hen's night cruise. Don't think I'll stay out partying for too long, I won't be able to stay awake.
Have a nice weekend!

Garrett falls asleep at night around 7, usually in his bouncer in the loungeroom and have to wake him to take him to bed when we go- but last night we put him down in his cot at that time.. and guess what??? because i didnt have to wake him to go to bed, he slept from 7pm to 4 am, fed then slept from 4.45 to 6ish... went back for his morning nap around 7.30-8 then slept for 1-2 hours...
ahhhhh it was nice.
Jase has headed off to help a mate take a turbo off a front cut - i wish he would learn to say no, so that he can stay at home. I have to go get the washing off the line and hope that garrett doesnt decide to go nuts in this time.
hope all is well and that your dh gets better mia, it sucks when they are crook and cant help out.

It raining here in sunny perth which sux as we housebound and i eating heaps...hoping for sunshine tomorrow so we can go for a walk and burn off the thousand cookies I ate today!! She has her 2 month check up tomorrow who I hope will measure her...i just realised I only have her measurements from when she gave birth...people seem to have them for every week or so...maybe I should have got out the measuring tape before now!?! I did this avo anyway and i think she about 63 cms...quite tall! Actually I know this as our mothers gorup everyone 4 months and Matilda same height even as the boys - she still not that chubby though...
Hope everyone well...very quiet

heya - i have only been quiet, as i didnt think it would look to sain for me to continually post after myself- maybe i will just to keep our thread alive.
Garrett is around the same height as mat - but prob a hell of a lot heavier - i get him his weekly weigh in today. He is almost out grown the reverasable car seat so i have booked in to the ambos to see what we can do so we can turn him around. He still doesnt have the head control, but my peads doc isnt concerned at all, becuase he is 'thriving' and because he is so large, it will take him longer to develop that muscle strength - he is getting far better, but hasnt got the strength yet to turn him :( He will be in the right weight range next week i think :p
updated my avatar today - was taking photos of him and he decided to try and thump the phone... there is another one i took before it - of him thumping himself, it was like "one for you, one for me" kinda thing.
All other development is on track - dr said all muscle ones would take longer as he has alot to lift (he is the size of a normal 6mnth+) so we just wait now.
hope everyone is well..
I best pm killakaz, havent heard forom her in the longest time :)

Hey all, glad to hear everyone is thriving & doing well.
I don't often post here but will put my 2 bobs worth in!
Heath is doing very well, had terrible (projectile) refulx but has stopped all together!!!,Thankyou Thankyou. No more 3am washing expeditions!..he seems to be taking full 160-200ml bottles now, so that makes me so, so happy.
I have been super photo happy lately, must be the nurotic mother comig out in me. He is changing so much everyday. He gets a full laugh up now, so beutiful to watch...Its hard to belive that he is nerly 3 MONTHS OLD!.
He is spot on with his sleeping now in the the night - bed 6.30-7 - wake 1-2.30 then around 5.30-7am for the day. its the day sleeps I gotta work on, he tend to wind him self so much then gets over tire d& won;t sleep. I guess I can't have it all. He gets himself quite frusterated at times with his "I can't move the way I want to" issue & HOLD HIS BREATH!..Scares the hell out of me...he eventally lets go.
Has anyone started their possums on Farex?...The Dr that i work with suggested it but I am a little apprehensive..He is my baby!!!...Wanna keep him like that for at least another month LOL.
As far as weight & measures go I am happy with his progress. was 3.11 born & is now 6.4kg so he is covered. 64.5cm long so a nice length as well. (DH 6f4'')
Any hoo, enough of my :ecomcity: .Will make a better effort at posting if that cool with you girls..
Anyone on the #2 bandwagon yet??? or 3 or 4? LOL..Am I insane??? Yes!..Yes I am! ;)
Cheers

hey ang - we are wanting no. 2 - but not just yet - although i have been getting morning sicknessish symtoms  So you never know - i might be baking again.
Garrett sleeps around the same as your bubba, but we can get him to go for some day time naps as well... Like at the moment is his first morning nap. We wake around 6ish, get up fed, play then nap for an hour or so then up to do it all over agian. I can usually get him down in the afternoon as well. Garrett loves his sleep.
Garrett weighed in yesterday at 7.930 - BIG BOY! we have in investigate turning his car seat around soon, but because he is so big he is still struggling with his full head control. He can hold his head etc, but cant permenatly hold it like they need to turn the seat - so off to the ambos to ask for advice :)
When they measured Garrett on monday he was 61cm - which is BS, cause he has outgrown all his 000, and starting to out grow some of his 00 too, fits better in 0 than anything else. He isnt fat concidering his weight, he is in proportion, so ill have to measure him again myself - the chick at the peads office is too doughy... lol
Garrett has taken to waking at 12.30 again :( been told it might be a growth spurt - not like he needs another one, the past 11 weeks have been a growth spurt.
He is still his daddys little boy - but he and i are starting to settle into our own now. my pnd is calming down, i think its cause im getting a routine sorted and feel alittle more in control.
Any other c-section junies getting back into serious exercise yet? Because of my heart and the c-section i was told at my 6 week check that i could only start back walking - pfft to that i say. I went and had a look at a gym yesterday, and i am getting back into that ASAP - cant wait.. i was a little bit of a gym junky before i fell pregnant with Garrett and i cant wait to get my old body back.
Here are some latest photos of the monkeyman himself - The G man - (Oh... does anyone else have nicknames for the bub? Garrett is such a hard name to shorten. So he is G, littlebum (DH calls him that) Monkeyman or Chook...)

Just to add to last posting...Matilda had her 8 week check and is all hunky dory...she weighs 5670g which is I believe about 12bs 9oz - so she in the 97th percentile and she is 61 (not 63 as I measured) cms tall...in the 90th percentile i think...so a tall girly :) she still not into all her 000 but beginning to fill them lengthways - we notice this in the grosuits especially Bekky I think the sizing over here so confusing why can it just by by months!! and then every shop is sooooooo different seems to be no standard...I am quickly writing this as Matilda watching Wiggles or something on ABC - I swore I would never use TV but she loves it and it gives me 10 minutes - she first realised about it when we were at a mithers group at someone s house and since then...bit like the dummy I was never going to use...gosh all these things you say pre baby!!
How do you put your pictures in your post - I will get some recent ones downloaded of matilda for you to see...we call her lots of things
Tillie Roo, Missy Moo, Stinkerbelle or tinkerbelle (tink), and of course Matilda Rose :) be interesting to see which one she starts to respond to or calls herself...I called myself Deordie for couple of years as couldnt do the g thing my family still call me that!
I wish Matilda was sleeping through night...I thought I had it cracked to something bearable ie 6-10 then 3 hourly feeds but she last couple of nights done the 6-10 thing then been awfully fractious and up every hour, and feeding and impossible to settle so much so I have given up on being tough and had her back in bed with me...when you on own it really hard to be tough!! i needless to say am shattered...and she is wide awake making happy/noisy sounds to the tv...we have the health centre mums group this morning and she always really noisy there too...never sleeps like the other babies...Really loving these mums group things I have another one on Fridays which is at peoples homes though looks like tomorrow is off  not sure what will doas I really hang for seeing people!! as it was supposed to be at beach but looks like going to rain and noone able to have at their house - my turn is next week (panicking as housework been on back burner) but DH comes home b4 then so he can help me!!
Okay the happy sounds getting increasingly noisy and less happy so I better fly...Matilda can kinda ift her head btw but seems to forget she can sometimes and gets really ****y when she on her tummy... she not got big head so cant see her problem but not too worried as every baby different I spose - I just want to put her in a jolly jumper but she needs head control for that - my friend bought the musical mat fro me that goes under it now all I have to do is buy the jumper but witing till she can do it as money is sure tight :)
Okay see ya soon!!

When I read some of your messages it makes me realise how lucky I have been with feeding and sleeping. Thanks for making me appreciate even more how wonderful he is.
Any tips on colds would be appreciated. I haven't done anything as his temp hasn't gone over 37.5. He is a bit snuffly. I haven't had his 2 month imunisation done yet due to him being unwell.

tips on colds - hmmmm... garrett got real sick at 2-3 weeks with bronculitis and pneumonia.... so here is what i know.
*nasal aspirators are a god send - so too the little saline drops. get from supermarkets + pharmacys bout $10. Use it to suck out boogies and allows easier breathing.
*ensure house is warm at night, not breathing in cold air.

We got no sleep...and she does have temp of 38 but seems okish! she had her jabs Tues...not sure where she got this from as I perfectly okay...I got her first boogie out today gross i know but poor mite couldnt breathe well cos of it - it was so huge about a cm at least!! so I took a piccie for her scrapbook  yes thats gross too I know!!touch wood she bit better this evening...but we'll see how she goes after this feed...thats when it all went pear shaped last night...Bekky I will go and check those out and hopefully she can breathe more easily!!

good on aya gerogiem - change names (and avatars) and confuse the heck out of me :p
G got sick for about 1-2 weeks after his shots, as long as mattilda is still happy and not listless i wouldnt bee too concerned. I was constantly checking his temp during that time - worry wort i am.
Yeah the nasal aspirator thing is great. G hates it, but its good for him. They come in a blue pack (forget the brand) with the saline drops. So you put the drops in with their head back for a couple of min, the get the aspirator - and suck away. the aspirator reminds me of the blowey cleaning things you get to clean cameras.
N.B make sure to push air out before getting to nose, otherwise you push air up - been told the bub doesnt like that (cant say i know, i havent done that to G).
G has taken to waking when daddy leaves for work in the morning at 5.30am... not happy jan. tried dreamfeeding over and over to get some sleep - but to no avail. got up around 6ish, he then fed (somewhat better but not really) he had a play and then had a bout of the screams while doing his business again. So once i calmed him down, i put him back to bed. He has been down for 30min - so i have had my breaky, and im going to ahve a nice hot bath with bio-oil for those pesky streachies... I can actually ahve a hot bath this morning - its strangely cool here... concidering there was a bush fire at the end of the st yesterday... I dont know if its a rain cloud or smoke haze around here - all the same, very erry....

He is chatting to his toy cow "Leepin' Leena" a tthe moment on the floor on his rug. He loves the music channel, so he's havin a groove aswell!...Seems so happy.
I am going to start goig to a few Mummy/Baby groups & Start him at Swimming lessons. I am a little shy but have decided that as far as the groups go I will bite the bullet, it'll be good for the two of us to get out socially, not just to do the groceries. One is a local group, a few ppl are Bubhub members!...& the other is my Antenatel Class, so that one will be all Bubs heath's age, or there abouts.
Swimming classes begin 3 Oct till 2 weeks before Christmas. We go out on FIl Boat alot during warmer times & I'll feel comfortalbe knowing that he's comfy in the water. I'm a terrible swimmer so it will put me more at ease with him.
Anyhoo, hope all is still cruising along smoothly for you all. I have to call the Childcare Ctr where Heath will go when I return to Work in Jan!.....Not happy Jan, don't wanna leave him.. I might just TTC #2 & boycot!....HEHHE

Hi Girls,
Long time no post.
It seems all of you have been making the same baby progress.Mackenzie had hher shots on Monday, cried for the second they went in, then was fine. BUT then was hysterical for the following two feeds. But following day was fine, sleepy if anything.
We had two exciting events this week. Firstly stopped waking her for her 2am feed, said I would after her shots, first night she slept from 10 til 4.30 and last night from 10 til 5am. Yeah:smiliedance:
Secondly, so exciting- Mackenzie rolled. We were doing tummy time after her 10am feed as we always do (the little chicken lifts her head so high that her whole chest is off the ground), and then she rolled onto her back. So I put her back on her tummy and she did it the other way. she was very proud of herself and loved it, now she won't stay on her stomach, up go the legs and chest and off she rolls!! It's so cute. I videoed it on my mobile and sent it to Phil. I can't believe she's done that already
Mackenzie weighing in at 5.3kg and is doing very well, still having good day sleeps and enjoys playtime.
Talk soon.

Thanks 4 the info ladies. The nose stuff (Fess) worked really well and he is much better.
Andy has rolled over once but not again.
He is having his shots on Wed - he had a temp when I took him last week.
It is so great chatting to other mums. Hearing about picking noses  being woken up too early:( and other mums being so proud of their little ones  .
Andy is a big boy- 10 pound 7 born and now weighs 6610 - I keep asking is he putting on too much and clinic nurse said breast fed babies can't put on too much- but is anyone elses babe packing it on?
Cheers, Michelle

Michelle tis true breast fed bubs cant put on too much they dictate what they need...but they can lose quickly for same reason or if you try to cut back their feeds :) Matilda is a big girly too she was born 4200 went down to 3200 in 24 hours (attachment probs and jaundice) but quickly started to regain and was back to birth weight by 3rd week I think anyhow. She now 5670 and 61cms so is in the 90th and 97th percentile respectively :) My milk is obviously cream!! she guzzles enough of it anyway! I always feel empty!! As long as Andy happy adn healthy thats all you gotta worry about :smiliedance: YOu obviously got double cream for milk too!!

woo hoo for other big babies..G is now over 8kg  He was putting on an an average of 400g a week, but has slowed now to just under 300g... He is in 0 - What is Andy in Michelle? G grew so quickly it was scary... He was 4110 when he was born, but he was also 2 weeks and 1 day early - dont want to think if we went to term - or over.... scary.
Mac is doing great! I cant believe she is rolling. G lifts his head like that with the whole chest off. He has rolled a couple of times, but nothing like Mac.... He is alot bigger too, so we have been told that his developments will be slower becasue of his size...
We went on a mountain night run last night with one of our car clubs. G loved it - Jase promised he wouldnt be silly, becuase he had both of us in the car, but i still got a bit car sick (alarming, because i only get car sick when i was pregnant... and there is a chance i am again... hmmmmm :devil6: ) G talked away for some of it (if he didnt sleep), and only got cranky when we were on our way home back on the highway. Very much his fathers son, and enjoying the driving aspect already..
Anywho - best head off to finish my cleaning. Sunday is my big housework day, as Jase is home to take care of G.

Sabrina's in 000/00 now but the 00 is mainly because most clothes are designed for disposable bums. :)
She's only rolled twice so far. Recently she's been very unhappy w/ tummy time so we don't push the issue!

Heath Still not rolling stubborn little devil!:devil6:
My day is as exciting as ever....Ironing AGAIN!....Feels like everytime I get to the bottom of the basket it is full again!...
DS Slept terribly last night so my eyeballs feel a little gravel rashed to say the least this morning..He is now leisurly napping on the lounge, half his luck - being 12 weeks old really takes it outta ya!
Whats everyone doing for FD? It's DH's 1st FD so its very exciting I won't post what I got him yet incase he finds out...

G is stubborn too - but thats cause he is a BIG BIG bubba. hmmmm FD... not sure yet. Dh says not to get anything because we are trying to pay off things... But i might make something with G for him.
G's reflux has taken a turn for the worse, i think ill have to re-introduce the formula feeds more now :( I took out his nighttime one and left it just as a top-up before bed... so i could get some more bf in to help with my weightloss (im back at the gym now :)).
G is in front of the tv, watching queer eye... one of his Gf (godfather - not girlfriend) is gay, so its nothing new for him.

Hi All,
Guess what Mackenzie now sleeps in til 6am. Yeah! It's amazing who knew she'd adjust so quickly. She's not quite as settled during the day now, but maybe, hopefully, she's just adjusting. She's a very routined girl, and I think she's a bit confused.
Mackenzie is still in 000 but is growing quickly. She's got a chubby little face, such a cutey.(Not biased at all!!) I'll have to update my avator.
Haven't organised Phil's FD pres yet. We've also got Mackenzie and my niece, Indiana's Baptism the following weekend. then my bro's 18th, then Phil's b.day, then our anniversary. Present coming out my a**.
Bekky- preg again. That would be fun for you!!

mia you are so lucky. G is an early riser (5.20 this morning) but i think that has more to do with him being a daddys boy. Jase kisses him goodbye, and then he wont go abck to sleep.... Also in the afternoon, at the time jase is due to arrive home G while cry pretty much until his daddy gets home - which was hell today because jase had to go down the coast, and didnt get home till 3 hours after when he usually does.
G is very routine too, we were getting better at night, but i reindroduced a bf, which he doesnt settle for as long on - tonight we were back on ff for that one, after his events iwth reflux out the nose. G also goes to bed around 7pm, and at this age they are 'meant' (using term loosly) to sleep 10 hours at night, 5 hours through the day... G sleeps almost 10 hours on the dot at night... cheeky bugger decided that his bed time would be earlier, so he wakes earlier- hmmmm .. have tried to extend that out so that we can sleep longer in the morning, but to no avail - just a cranky little G if we try and keep him up.
Anywho - best be off :)

Morning Mummies!
I officially feel like I have a NB again!...Heath woke every 2-3 hrs last night & decided that play time for the day would start at 4.30this morning!:banghead:
I am hoping that he is just going though a growth spurt or something. After him sleeping better for the last few weeks this is living hell! DH just puts the pillow over his head LOL ..I wouldn't get him up anyway as he leaves for work at 5.30am everyday.
DS is lying on the floor cooing away ATM. Tossing up whether to go shopping or not today, am a little weiry to say the least. Tomorrow have Mummy Group, little nervous but going!.
Are you pG Bek???? How exciting!!!
Anyway take care all

G has has a terrible evening. Colic REAL bad, just got him to go down now, been on and off crying since about 3.30 this afternoon.
Oh well, i best get some things done.
Oh btw- dont think im pg, i got af last night - it left overnight again, but came back again, i might have to get this investigated - its frustating me. Its also annoying not being able to rely on being 'on time' to know im not preg... so things like this frustrate me.

Better night with DS, i have offically started him on Farex!....Seems to be doing the trick. gave him some in his bottle y/day mid-morn & he took it, no reflux etc. Then I tried it with him off the spoon @ lunch & then a smaller bottle, he actually had a decent afternoon nap not just his usual 1/2. He had a bottle for afternoon tea then Spoon feed, & Bottle for bed. Only woke once @ 3.30 for feed & has woken this morn @ 7am!:smiliedance: . So I am a little sad though, don't ask me why I just feel like he is so little, however he seems to enjoy his new menu!....Over then next few weeks I start puting thins with the Farex until he's a little bigger then I'll take the farex away some of the time.
Now I am gonna try & start a new feeding schedule, Morning SF (Brekkie) & Small B, B Mid-M, SF LUnch & Small B etc....See how that goes with him.
He looks so cute opening his mouth for the Farex!:crying:
Anyway at least I got a solution & he seems to be enjoying it so I'll continue.
Glad Mac is such a good girl for you mum2peanut. & Glad I'm not the only 1 Bek!

A - you started him on farex? wow....! G has no real interest for food, but i may talk to my CHN about that, it might help with his reflux - Ill try anything to help him with that.
Im off to the gym again today. I used to be alittle gym junky, but since i have to book G into the childcare there in advance, it makes it hard...
G is having his morning nap now - so i best get everything ready for our day.
hope everyone slept well.

Tonights the big night...we have moved Matildas cot back into her nursery and put her to bed in it...so heres seeing how it goes...first time I have had the monitor switched on really - really useless tomy thing fizzes heaps cant actually hear her breathing...I feel really weird as we had cot in our room even since before she was born and now it a big empty space nad my baby girl a hallway and door away from me...(was sidecar). I just getting no sleep as she heavy, snuffly breather especially having cold...and I think often I wake her up at night or she smells me!! AM I a dreadful mother? should I have kept her in for 6 months as the ABA suggest?? I will still be night feeding and letting her in our bed after her 4/5 oclock feed...I just gotta get some sleep otherwise things gonna go pear shaped...

Your not a bad muM! we were thinking of moving G soon (was going to be this week) but because he has taken to waking at 12, 2 and 4 again, im not bothering. I have to figure out why he is waking so much - im pretty sure it would be ANOTHER growth spurt, so when that is sorted, we will be moving him. Im thinking of waiting until he sleeps through - we were getting close - but it seems a lifetime away now.
We got up at 5 this morning - G is just been waking and then not going back. Trying to get him to go back down now - but he is grissling. I have a cycle class at 9.15this morning, so this might work in my favour. As his routine is still in place, but we can get going earlier.
Now just to get him to go to sleep....

You're not a dreadful mother at all. We will be moving Mackenzie from our room soon, we were waiting til she slept thru the night first, prob at the end of Sep when it's a bit warmer cause her room is downstairs. We already use our monitor, we have the angel care one so it's on every night, and once I'm up in the moring I turn the sound on so i can hear her in our room. It's very clear and the breathing monitor gives us peace of mind.
The idea of moving her makes me a little sad too, but I'd rather do it sooner than later so she doesn't actually realise. It would be worse if she cried cause she knew what was going on. Mackenzie is getting very long and won't fit in the bassinette for much longer anyway.
Off to have coffee with work friends this arvo. Have a nice day everyone.

if your bad I am terrible. DS has been in his our cot since he was 4 weeks old. We have a monitor on the BS table that I can see & hear him on the screen, I sleep better & I'm sure he does to...You do what you feel is right, whether that be putting her in her own room or letting her sleep with u til she's 10!:hugs:

- I'm with you there DS has quite a wide arm span & sleeps as such so he's been in his cot for a while now too....Oh the joys!
Hi everyone,
Sorry I have fallen off the face of the earth lately - I have been reading everyone's posts, but have had a pretty rough trot with Mackenzie and ended up with a mild dose of PND, so couldn't bring myself to post at all. Things are now improving steadily both for Mackenzie and I, so while we're not out of the woods, I can definately see the trees are thinning
Mackenzie had a lot of colic and would cry for three hours minimum a night starting anywhere between 9pm and 1am. It started around 3 weeks of age and started tapering off at about 10 weeks, but by then the depression had set in, so everything just seemed too hard :crying: On top of that, she was barely sleeping all day unless she was in my arms, and when she was awake was so grumpy that she would insist on being held all the time. All of this added up to me having virtually no time out and I was just miserable. I felt like a failure in so many ways. :gloomy:
Now at 12 weeks, she is much better, she will have some short naps every day (most days) and tends to only have fairly short crying sessions in the evenings, but she is still incredibly hard to get to bed!! She generally goes to sleep at around midnight after we have cuddled and rocked and bounced and loved her for hours since her bath. She fights sleep like crazy and basically has quick power naps until she finally bombs out once and for all!!
But the day times have been so much better and that has made all the difference for me. She generally comes in to bed with me at 7am and then will sleep to 10 or 10.30am. When she gets up, we have a play after a feed and then she watches me have my shower and get dressed, then she has a top up and goes back to sleep for an hour or so. All that means that it is generally after midday before she is really awake and going for the day, so that is my compensation for the difficult nights!!
My MCHN has started me in a PND support group which is awesome and I am starting Mum's and Bub's Yoga tomorrow. I am also going to a Day Stay program next Monday to help me learn some better settling techniques for Mackenzie. So all in all, everything is looking up and hopefully you will see some more of me on here from herein!
I am sorry for such a mega long post, I really needed to get it all off my chest, I guess. If you've managed to get all the way through this post, you are pretty amazing and I really appreciate it!

Sarah,
I hae mild pnd too - pm me if you want to chat... It would be nice to talk to someone with the same age bub feeling the same way. G has colic too. His problem is doing his number 2, as there is so much wind in his bowels it makes it encredably painful for him. My gp decribed the pain like bad period pain. My heart breaks even more now when i can see him upset - casue we all know how that pain can be. G is slowly improving too, but we were lucky and his bad trot didnt start till 6-7weeks... G also sleeps a treat. Mum said since i was a baby i would sleep really well, even as a child i would get excited about bedtime. G is the same, he loves his sleep.
Im gunna have a talk to my CHN about G and farex. He isnt all that interested in food, but i think he needs more to help him settle.
We are putting his cot into his room tonight or tomorrow. After our discussions on here, I realised that sooner is better than later otherwise it will be harder on him. I figure that i will get up properly (out of bed) for his night feeds, and put him back down in his cot - he might get a fuller feed and sleep longer.
Anyway just heard him cough and splutter.

Morning ladies, just letting you know (in my 5th post in a row...) that G slept through last night, in his own room! He slept from 8pm till 5.30am - w00t w00t... so excited. Im engorged like nutty - but its worth it. Trying to get him back into his morning routine of sleep after 1 hour up, so here goes... w00t w00t again.
Hope everyone is alive and well...

Bekka your NOT a thread killer!...I read them all last night but thought I'd wait til the morn to post as I was just so terrible tired.
Glad to hear the G is ok, such a panic mode when the little ones come up in that rash!...U never can be too careful.
How was everyones FD? DS got DH tickets to go see LIVE in Brissie, so he was pretty stoked to say the least. He had a nice easy day of drinking & watching the ediot box. ....I was totally exhausted.
DS has taken a downhill turn after such a good run, So, on FridayI decided I needed to try something totally different to regain my sanity (He totally refused the spoon, all together - Didn't sleep MOST of the previous 2 nights & I still couldn't get enough into him...:banghead: )
I was so disheartened!...i bought this book called Save our Sleep, you probably have heard of it, I hadn't. Anyway, I have taken snipets of it out & persivered Sat & y/day with a really strong routine & HALELUHAH!. He sleep properly.
Why is this Motherhood business such a guessing game. It makes me really question myself sometimes. How could one person be so utterly stupid to NOT know what her our son needs!....I feel guilty now for "forcing" the farex onto him. sorry for the drama spill:crying:
Anyway, what I trried and has worked (so far) is a 7-7 routine. He has 4 bottles a day but bigger amounts (seems to be drinking every last drop - garbage guts!) & I give a dreamfeed at around 10.30pm. We'll see. I've scapped the farex for now, until 4mths anyway. I really belive its great for them to get new tastes & textures.
So there you have it girls. trial & error!....very overrated. ATM DS is laughing his little heart out to "Little People" on the Tellie & playing with his chimes. I love him so much! It hurts my heart sometimes, I wish I could read his mind though.
Sorry its so long winded. Hope everyone else is GREAT!

Hey... glad to see routine works for you Alegna, G has a pretty set morning and night one, I think that he likes to know what is coming. It has helped alot with his sleeping, and the beauty of it all is, even at the weekend - as it is a activity based routine not time, we can still go out past his time, and just do the usual when we get home, and he doesnt get out of wack.
Anyway Jase has an RDO today - he is changing G at the moment, and i can hear G cackling at the top of his lungs. He loves his daddy.
I know the heart hurting bit, mine does that all the time when i think, look, see hear G - its amazing to think i could love someone else so much.

G is sleeping all night most nights, if not, he only wakes once.
He is doing a lot of the 'mechanics shuffle' where he moves around on his back. Jase got him out of bed yesterday morning - he was a body length out of the covers and turned 90 degrees with his feet banging on the side of the cot. THis morning i found him the same way... Yesterday he had moved himself a good foot under his playgym to reach a toy on the otherside...
Anyone else doing this? Oh he is looking like he will be an early crawler, he can almost lift all of himself up now, and trys to move too...

Hi June mums! I feel dopey saying this, but I didn't even know this thread was here. I just made it as a June mum (DS was born on the 25th). He's mainly been sleeping at least six hours during the night, although he slept eight hours on Sunday night.
He's being a terror tonight, I just can't get him down (hence the 11.45pm post). I've just rocked him to sleep, but am fully expecting him to wake up in ten minutes. Probably not worth even going to bed!:banghead:
Hope everyone else is sleeping well tonight!

hey!! I didnt realise you were a june mummy either!
Tillie has for the past 5 nights slept from 6 ish to 12 ish and then to 5 ish...one night it was 7ish to 4.48 exactly!! but this has only happened since we booted her out of our room...which is it seems working great for all of us! this morning however i was naughty and at 5 let her in our bed...I wanted a snuggle!! I wasnt going to let her sleep there but I fell asleep and so did she and woke up at 8...Its just gr8 though as DH been home for 10 days and we finally have now got our room back and sorry if TMi but our love life too!! :smiliedance:
Tillie still the same giggling, laughing and screaming loudly! Still a struggle with tummy time...she fights it big time...and then pukes...so I just let her do it a bit on me...(not the puking!!). We had fun today dancing to her songs she was cacking herself laughing at me which I dont blame her I must have looked a darn fool!
Mothers group tomorrow and chiropractor later such an eventful life I lead these days...but very very happy!;)

Not much else to report here, had playgroup at my place y/day, that was really nice. Gonna go on the weekend to get some clothes to wear to the Gym as I have absolutely nothing in that department that fits my new "maternal" figure:cool: ..BLAHHHHH!

It's nice to find a place with other bubs my DS's age. After an awful night last night (cried from about 10.30pm until 12.30am), he slept until 4am. I fed him, he cried until about 5am, then slept until 10am! Not so bad in the end I guess, but hope it doesn't become a pattern.
He's being an angel today though. I'm thinking of swimming once a week to try and get back in shape ( ). Let's see how long that lasts!
Mytillieroo - my DS hates tummy time too. I feel like a mean cow everytime I put him on his tum. He'll probably grow up with no back muscles because I cave in and turn him over after he squawks a few times!

Hi all, I think that I am the random poster there is no routine to my posting at all sorry.
Hi there Hazel I hope that your night tonight is better!!!
Brooke is still sleeping the same down at 6:30pm and awake about 3:30- 4:30am then sleeps through till 7ish. But really not so good during the day, I'm working on that! Hey I am thinking about trying the boiled water at the 330am feed as she doesn't really seem all that hungry and feed for about 4-5 mins and then is over it. Has anyone else tried that ???
ON the tummy time thing, Brooke really hated it too but CHN suggested rolling up a towel and using it as a bolster under her arms to help lift her off the mat, ever since then Brooke has really loved (actually that might be too strong a word) but has gone from aboout 20secs to about 5mins on her Tummy , might be worth a try.
I hope that everyone is having a great day.

Hi All,
Been busy getting organised for Mackenzie's Baptism this weekend. My sister and I can't wait til it's over. Although I think the hardest thing was thinking of pressies for the girls. Have any of your bubs been christened yet?
Mackenzie is doind well. Still sleeping thru the night and has good sleeps during the day also. Unless we're out and about cause she's such a sticky beak and doesn't like to miss anything. Strangers actually comment on how alert she is looking around all over the place.
We haven't moved her to her cot yet. Waiting for school hols so that if she doesn't adjust easily Phil is off to take the pressure off.
Had to move Mackenzie's straps on her capsule as she was getting too long. Don't think she'll make the 6 month mark in it. She has started to enjoy her hanging toys and spends a bit of time under her toy frame. Between that and tummy time she gets worn out and is ready for a sleep.
Hope you are all keeping well.

Morning Everyone... This may be long - bear with me :)
Have any of your bubs been christened yet?
No. Jase and I are different denominiations, So we dont want to offend either side. Jase also doesnt want Garrett to be "set" into either denomination. Im thinking of a naming cerimony tho. Anyone know much about those?
Still sleeping thru the night and has good sleeps during the day also. Unless we're out and about cause she's such a sticky beak and doesn't like to miss anything. Garrett is the same. Every now and then wakes at 3-4am for a dreamfeed. But since being placed in his own room that is few and far between. He is also very alert. When we are out, he sits up like a big boy in the pram and looks around. People are surprised taht he is only 13 weeks. - but then again he is pushing towards the 9kg mark now.
Had to move Mackenzie's straps on her capsule as she was getting too long. he he he - I did that 3 times in the first 10weeks of Garretts life. He is now a big boy and facing the front. They arent supposed to do that until 6months, but he got to big for the set reversed, he was able to kick the backseat when he stretched out. His head control is so much better now because he has to hold it. - he is also in the weight range that they have to be moved, Ambos said to go on weight, not age. Its sad - my baby is growing up.
She has started to enjoy her hanging toys and spends a bit of time under her toy frame. Garrett loves his playgym. Its a fisher price one that plays music and has a big mirror for them to look up at. I ave it next to our lounges, surrounded by pooh bear images (he loves pooh, i have them surrounding his change table, and he gets so excited when i put him down for his change now - kicks around and 'talks' to pooh) - he sits for ages - up to and hour the other day, just talking and kicking around. This is the first place we noticed that he can moved very far on his back - he moved a good foot to reach another toy.
CHN suggested rolling up a towel and using it as a bolster under her arms to help lift her off the mat - Yeah mine suggested the same thing, Garrett did the same, but i forgot about that - thanks for reminding me, ill have to try it again. During tummy time last night, Jase let garrett push off his hand (Jase wasnt pushing at all, it was just giving G something to push off) and he pushed himself with his arms and his legs all the way off the mat and over to me!
I'm thinking of swimming once a week to try and get back in shape I have been doing the gym for 2 weeks now. Im seeing the difference already! I did my second spin class yesterday, and i didnt have half the strength problems i did at first, so much so i am going again this morning!
I have absolutely nothing in that department that fits my new "maternal" figure Ditto! This what pushed me to get into the gym in the first place. Thank god for stretchy gym pants, those teamed with a loose shirt... Oh hurry up, please bring my old body back!
Garrett still isnt rolling yet, but since he doesnt get alot of tummy its no real surprise. Im not too concerned seeing as tho he can move so well on his back, He'll get to the rest in his own good time. My mum tells me she never gave us tummy time, and im fine. He can sit on our laps now with just alittle support for balance more than anything else. So he is developing just fine...
Well lovely ladies... I have 1 and a half hours before i head off to the gym, and i still need to get everything in order to go. Oh the fun...
Hope everyone slept ok!

Hi Mia, glad to hear that your little possum is jumping ahead in leaps & bounds! Its such a peace of mind when you know they are happy & contented.
We are going to get Heath baptised as it is important to DH's side of the family. I am Anglican & they are Catholic so he will be christened that as well. We think we will do it in Jan/Feb, were going to do it 1/10 but his grandfather will be in Greece (lucky duck) so that was thrown out!
Anyway, Again, not alot to report here apart from that DS has become ALOT more "talkative" over the last 2 days - its soooo cute, he chats away all day. I guess he is thinking "If I start talking she'll STOP!" HEHEHE
Went & bought some gym pants today, Monday is the day!:smiliedance:

Hello ladies! Another awful night last night, but finally I know why. DS has been constipated, and after a dose of prune juice, things seem to be fine again. He's been giggling and smiling all day.
Beckyboo - I'm pleased the gym seems to be working for you! Hopefully I see some results once I've been swimming for a couple of weeks.
~Alegna~- Hopefully the new gym pants inspire you to hit the gym!! Good to hear that your DS is getting chatty. It's a lot more rewarding when you get some kind of response from them. I'm finding that I love being at home with DS more and more every day. In the early days, I went a bit mad. It seemed so dull, but it's getting a lot better.
Anyway, that's all I have to report. Hopefully tonight is a dream night and DS sleeps

Hi,
Bekky- don't know anything about naming days sorry. Phil and I are diff religions also, but he's happy for our children to be Catholic. Especially considering I'm a practising Catholic and a Catholic school teacher. Plus we'll send Mackenzie to a Catholic School. We got married in a catholic church also. I can't believe G is sitting up in his car seat. The issue with the capsule is that the straps can only be moved once. We've already got a car seat we bought when my niece was born, but I'll get another so we can all still go out together.
Had a call from the priest this morn asking for a photo of the girls, cause he's making up booklets with photos. Talk about leaving it to the last minute. Can't say I felt like going out again, the weather here is miserable. I'm going to freeze in my outfit tomorrow. Raced out this morn to get all the last minute food, and was ready to settle in for the day, then had to go out. Oh well. the booklet's a nice touch.
Hazel- glad to hear the prune juice worked. Mackenzie has been a little const also. The nurse said the give her watered down formula and massage her bum to help tone the muscles. It seems to be working.
All you gym going girls are making me feel bad. But not bad enough to do exercise. Haha!
I finally updated my avator. Question- how do you get the changing picture avators!

Both Mackenzie and my niece, Indiana looked beautiful. They both fell asleep during the service. I will update my avator soon with a pickie,]]. It was a lovely day, but I'm glad it's over cause I'm stuffed.
Got some great pressies and lots of left over food. Always the way!
mytillieroo- what's wrong with Matilda's skin? You've prob tried it but I've used Amolin for skin irritations and it works really well and very quickly.

Hi Ladies, It just took me a long time to read all the posts I missed. As I read them I was thankful that this site is here :yelclap: It's wonderful to share the pains and gains of motherhood.
Bec I no longer worry about Andy's size thanks to you and G. Andy born 27/06/06 4775g and 7.5kg last Tues at 10 weeks.
He is wearing 00 mainly - a couple of 000 suits fit him.
I've thought about when to turn him round in the car seat but waiting a bit longer. I have already moved straps twice though.
And the whole solids or not thing. Great to hear other experiences. As he is sleeping 10hrs a night and 3 day sleeps 1-3 hour daily I might not change anything. He goes down at 8 and wakes at 6. Sorry had to brag about how my little angel sleeps.
He was waking at 4.30 and as DH had to get up 5.30 I would quickly feed him. But I wasn't sure he was really hungry. That was when I moved him to his room in bassinet. Next night I heard him at 4.30, but he went back to sleep on own til 6 and has ever since.
Do any of you read to your bubs? Andy loves story time and goes right to sleep after it. I have been reading the same book since he was born and I had even read it to my tum pre-b. He now smiles as I read and really enjoys it.
Not sure about the whole christening thing. He is one of Gods children. To hard with all relo's interstate.
Thanks to all of you for sharing your motherhood journey,
I will return much sooner this time,
Love, :hugs: and

mum2peanut... matilda developed horrendous blistering type eczema on face :( and really dry scaly everywhere - I use amolin for washes and no products now at all in bath etc...nothing has changed yet she developed this...I bought paw paw ointment today which seems to relieve it quite alot...apparently the childrens hospital in perth doing research on use of probiotics to help kids eczema and dermatitis as it often a by product of proteins excreted when an newborn gut cant manage certain foods...so I will be asking the specialist about that...I am too scared to use the steriod cream they gave me on her as heard horror stories about scarring it can leave...
so pleased that Mackenzie and Indiana's christening went well...can't wait to see the piccies!!! I bought Matilda a dress today on ebay - cant believe I won actually! it is from a company called Monsoon and is sooooooooooo gorgeous - she will be too big for the family gown at 6 months :)
Well touch wood another good night here Matilda went down at 5.30 and still asleep - trying tostretch it out again to 6.30 as a bit of a pain her wanting to sleep quite so early...but it hard to get her to keep her eyes open...she prob wake up in an hour or so for feed then back down for few hours...
Going to get her weighed and measured tomorrow hoping she hit the 6kg mark :) she now in 00 Bonds grosuits and 000 outfits...I tried her in a couple of 00 outfits and although lengthwise ok she was swamped!! Nowhere near solids yet, or teething, or moving the chair around I dont trust her head strength yet...cant wait for her to hold her head up so I can get her in her jolly jumper think she going to love it!! Is anyone else still breast feeding?? If so are you losing or gaining weight?? I lost to start with but now although Matilda drinking more I ma stacking back on - problem is I am always hungry...no gym for me as not got anyone to babysit...

I have massive AF cramps today. Feeling as crook as anything. lucky DH has today off cause of the rain, he is looking after G for me.
I am still breastfeeding - well partly. G has a FF a night before bed or if we go out.
Anywho - Im going back to rest.
Andysmum - Have a look to see if Andy is able to touch the backseat with the seat reversed. G could when he stretched his legs out. We also found that he would get more upset in the car, i think it was getting uncomfortable for him. His head control is so much better now that he has turned too. Min weight for turning is 8kg, and max for reversed is 9kg - keep this one in mind :)

mytillieroo- Poor Matilda- does the eczema make uncomfortable? On Morning with Kerrie Anne, ( I know it's sad that I watch this) there is a guy who sells a treatment for eczema and psoriasis. the website is either eczema-psoriasis.com or the other way round. Maybe check it out. Don't you love winning on ebay. I just won an espirit shirt. Mackenzie wore my baptism gown, we look very similar when you compare photos. (It was very special as my grandmother bought it for me and she wasn't able to come as she has alzheimers and is in a nursing home). What's a cofe ceremony?
Andy'smum- we read to Mackenzie every night. I usually hold her in my lap so she can look at the pictures. We read different books every night, it's the teachers in us coming out!
Bekky- hope you're feeling better!
Mackenzie's going to get weighed and measured this week, she's very long. She gets that from her dad, certainly not me. She still wears 000 at the moment.

Sorry to here that some of the gang are under the weather, hope you all get better real soon:hugs:
Well, I did my first class y/day at the gym. OMG am I feeling it today! It was great fun! Go back tomorrow to have a set program don for me, can't wait. DS Slept the whole time in the childminding room, so that was a peace of mind!
Have playgroup tomorrow & then on Thursday am going to my Antenatel Class Meet, can't wait to see all the little ones that were cooking with heath. I think he will be one if the oldest from memory.
Anyway, I have a house to clean now, On the joy! - I've just been in our spare room to find that DH has obviously been in there & turned the WHOLE ironing baskey upside down! NICE! Then I go into the Bathroom to find his dirty clothes struned all over the floor! NICE! Then back out in the lounge where I find hid boat sized shoes & socks left in the middle of the floor. I tell you what I feel an explosion coming on!:banghead:
Apart from that - Happy Tuesday everyone

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been on this thread for a few days (not a lot to report). DS has been sooo cranky lately, so I've just been feeding him all the time. He's been eating every two hours or so, so I might up the amount in each bottle. He's only a little guy, so I don't think it'll hurt him!
Mytillieroo - sorry to hear about your DD's eczema, must be awful for you. :hugs: My DS has really sensitive skin, I keep waiting for him to develop eczema. Did you or your partner ever have eczema as babies? I've heard it can be hereditary.
Andysmum - 10 hours a night?! I am sooo jealous!:(
Alegna - Good luck at your antenatal reunion class. I've been to mine, it was great to catch up and see what everyone had. My group was dominated by boys, wonder if yours will be the same?:detective:
Bekkyboo - sounds like Garrett is thriving! My guy's still in 000, but he's getting a bit long for everything, so I might pack all his 000's away and break out the 00s soon!:smiliedance:
Hi Everyone, It feels like it has been ages since I posted, time goes so fast these days! Life is so much better and easier since my last post and I can feel my PND lifting - which is just great!
Mackenzie is barely crying at all at night now, generally just a big winge after her bath while she is being dressed, cos she just wants to be fed! She has a really good feed as soon as she is dressed and generally falls asleep while eating and goes off to bed for the night
The day stay I was booked in to was an absolute disaster and cemented in my mind that I am just not in to trying to get Mackenzie into a strict routine if that isn't what works for her. The day stay people wanted me to get her up at a certain time and have her up for 1.5 hours and then sleep for 1.5 hours, no falling asleep while feeding, no cuddling to sleep. I tried to put her to sleep the way they told me - shushing and patting and rocking her in her bassinet, but she just cried and cried. They told me to keep trying, she would get it eventually, but I just can't do it, so that is that.
So, I have a hug-a-bub and Mackenzie is sooooo much happier now, she still sleeps in her bassinet for some of her sleeps, but from about midday to 6pm, she is either on the floor playing or in the hug-a-bub hagiong our with Mum and very happy too! :yelclap:
Mackenzie is now 6.5kgs and 60cm's and wearing her 00's. I desperately want to turn her around in the car, but it looks like that is a while off still.
Hazel79 - sounds like DS is going through a growth dpurt - Mackenzie did the same to me a few weeks ago, it felt like she was almost permanantly attached to my chest!
Mytillieroo - sorry to hear about your DD's eczema, that must be horrible for you. :hugs:
Bekkyboo - sounds like Garrett is going great guns as usual!
M2P - congrats on the christening, I hope you can post some photos soon, I would love to see the girls in their little gowns!
keep all the posts coming girls, it's great to hear how everyone is going! :D

I have a quick question for all the June mummies. How much does your bub sleep during the day? I think I expect DS to sleep far too much. He does a great morning nap and an okay afternoon nap, but I always try to put him down for a middle of the day nap. He doesn't seem interested, and it just makes him cranky. I'll stop trying soon, but I just worry that he's not getting enough sleep.

Tillie sleeps as and when she chooses to at the mo...whether it be in the car or in the pram during the day...if we at home and she getting ratty or droopy eyed I put her down but she will only sleep for 45 mins or so... dont worry too much cos if you add all the little cat naps plus their night sleeps it will be enough I am sure :D
TIllie weighed in today 6040g and 63cms...and a very chirpy happy little girl is she :)

Mackenzie had her weigh in today. She weighs 6kg and is 60cm long. Just signed her up for Gymbaroo starting next term, a couple of my girlfriends are doing it with their babies also.
Mackenzie sleeps a fair bit during the day, pretty much an hour after a feed she goes down for a sleep cause she gets cranky, she wakes about every hour, has a smile and play and then goes back to sleep. But if DS doesn't seem to need sleep I wouldn't bother. I put her down cause she gets cranky and overtired.
Titiana- Glad to hear you're doing better. I think you should do what works for you. My Mackenzie is a very routine baby, but I think that's because i'm a very routine person also.
PS i just updated my avator to a Baptism Photo. My little cutie!!

DS is a much better night sleeper - which is good!
He has a good morning (9-11am roughly) & afternoon (1-3 roughly) not always will he sleep that long, sonetimes he will only have a morning or just afternoon.
How long will you DS sleep at any given time? If it is in big chunks maybe he's had enough. OR - have you tried varying the "sleep location"?...I found that DS slept mUCH better in a portacot in the spare room (I know, weird bubba) through the day rather than in his bed. Maybe they associate "night" with their cot/bed. I dunno, maybe try that if you really want him to sleep more. Also sometimes if I feel Ds is being a little cranky and I think he could use another sleepy-byes in the arvo (4-5ish) I put him on his playmat with no toys & just let him lye there with his dummy until he goes off, this one is usually only about 1/2hr-45min, but helps!
Ds was not always like this, was very sporatic slepper before, just in the last few weeks that I've got him into a neat little routine.
As soon as I got his daily FEEDING schedule right, his sleeping followed straight away!.....
I hope that helped a little :hugs:

I have been getting G to sleep in the afternoon by having a nap with him! I have found that going to the gym in the mornings gives me the energy, but by mid afternoon i need a nap. Prob because G has taken to waking at 1 am again, hoping this doesnt last too long. G is the same as Heath, With his routine in place he is really good.
I weighed G today at the pharmacy (been slack on CHN as im changing to one near my gym) - he was 8.6kg... heavy little mite.
G also seems to be constipated, what do you think i should do for the prune juice? how much and to what ratio?

Went to coffee today with a girl I met at pre-natal. Her DS was born the day after Mackenzie. It's funny both our bubs weigh the same. Jude was a fair bit bigger at birth but Mackenzie's caught up.
Bekky- The nurse I see for weigh ins and such told me to do the following things for constipation: make formula a bit more watery, add malt to formula and to massage her bum, to strengthen her muscles. The watered down formula worked for her. I've also heard given babies water helps. I don't know what ratio you give the prune juice sorry.

i'm so sorry to have ditched u guys for go long!!! *hangs head in shame* i started to catch up on old posts, but i need to read from page 6, & that's too much for me tonight!!
i'm STILL trying to get settled into my parents' house - unfortunately my sis STILL hasn't moved outta the room i'm supposed to move into, so Q. & i are currently in limbo with unpacked boxes all over the house!!
Qila is going well - she's about 14 weeks old & is 61cm, 6.5kg. she's currently sleeping - & has been since 6pm (this is HIGHLY unusual for her to have such a long sleep, but this is the 3rd time today she's had a long sleep! maybe another growth spurt?!?)
she usually does a 5 hour sleep overnight but did an 8.5 hour one a few nights ago - i woke up SATURATED with my milk! i really, really wanted to wake her up to feed her, but i want her to learn to sleep for long periods without a feed! ;) but, i do stress & check she's breathing when she sleeps that long!!
she rolled over by herself a on tuesday. every morning when she wakes up, i spend about 30 mins in bed trying to wake up properly, while she sits (me propping her up - she insists on sitting!!) & chats away to me & i play with her. then she lies on a rug in the living room while i play with her some more & get my breakfast.
on tuesday i put her on her stomach, & straight away she rolled over as if she'd done it a thousand times before!! she looked so proud of herself, too! i rolled her back onto her stomach & she rolled over straight away again! we did this about 10 times before she tired of it. she's only done it a handful of times since, tho - i think she got bored of it!
my mum is REALLY proud of her coz she also sits for a few seconds all by herself before overbalancing & falling to one side. mum came home from work today saying how her workmate was boasting because her granddaughter (6 months old) was doing the same. my mum kept her mouth shut about Qila doing it at 3 only months... ;)
isn't amazing how quickly they're growing up & mastering new things? i'm so proud of her, but have already forgotten the early days when all she did was demand to be carried around/ fed!! luckily now she'll play by herself on a rug (randomly grabbing at toys while lying down & sucking on them), so she doesn't need my attention ALL the time!

gave G the prune juice, I had to give it to him with a dropper as he refused it out of his bottle. Screamed like i was trying to hurt him... cheeky bugger. But it worked, BIG TIME.... still his wind is the worst smell in the world now...
Karen, its good to see you back :) missed u hun!
G hasnt rolled over yet, still struggle on tummy time, and since his head control is great (thanks to turning his car seat around) I havent really been pushing the issue, I figure he'll get to it in his own time. He can moved around alot on his back, and can almost roll over from his back to his belly - so im sure he is doing just fine. He also sleeps alot at night, even tho he has decided to start waking at 1 am (except last night when he pushed through till 2am... lol) - bring back the 4am waking. Although i am thankful for one thing, after he wakes around 6am, he ocmes into bed with me and we go back to sleep till 7.30, something he would never let me do before!
Washing calls ladies, although it says there is supposed to be some forcast of showers this morning... hmmmm - my washing is crazy now, and not to mention its supposed to rain here all weekend....

Hi ladies:wave:
Bec and mytillieroo thanks for car seat info.
Mia, Mac looks gorgeous at baptism and how lovely she wore your gown. I love tradition. Andy has a jumper that his daddy wore. RU a teacher too? I teach special needs children in primary school.
Hazel, Andy sleeps for 1/2 to 1 hour in morning around 7.30, then down again 9/10 for usually 2 -3 hours then another 1 - 2 hours at 3-4.
My HCN gave me a brochure on sleep that says:
At 1 month average is 15 and 1/2 total for day made up of 9 at night and 6 1/2 in 3 day sleeps.
3 months average is 15 total made up of 10 at night and 5 in 3 day sleeps.
6 months says 14 and 1/4 total with 11 at night and 3 and 1/4 in 2 sleeps.
And if they are averages obviously more or less than that is norm.
Anyone think teeth around the corner???
Andy has lump on one side of mouth (eye tooth I think) and you can see white at front of bottom teeth. His poos have been abit green too which could be a sign. And a little more grizzly than before.
He has really found his hands now. Isn't it special watching them in a trance staring at their hands??? Makes me appreciate being able bodied and fit and healthy.
Speaking of health I have been inspired to lose my extra 10kg. (thanks girls) Have been walking and also started Windsor Pilates DVD with neighbour. It's great. Recommend it. After 2 sessions feels more toned in tummy. But not sore which is good.:smiliedance:
I have a great little treasure book on parenting a friend gave me and will end my posts with a quote:
Until your children move out of your house, dont buy anything suede.
Chat soon, Love Michelle

Hey Mytilleroo - We talked to the Ambos (QLD has free checking here) We were told that it is more important to go on size rather than age - as each child develops differently. It was more dangerous of us to leave Garrett turned as he had out grown the seat, and in the event of a crash wouldnt be protected properly by his seat (as he was too big for it). Since turning him, his head control has improved dramatically. Also after a long conversatation with my dad (an ambo) it doesnt really matter what age the child is, if you have to plant the brakes on, they arent going to have full head control. Garrett is alot happier now, and i feel better knowing he isnt cramped. But thanks heaps for that info...
I think Garrett isnt far off teething either Michelle. He has been munching on everything of late. When he gets my fingers now he doesnt suck, he bites. And i have been noticing more with his feeding too that he clamps down on my nipple. Something i always said was the deal breaker for bf... but ill give him a few more goes.
here are some latest pics of the little man

Bek - Love the photo's of G. How did you put them on? I think it's a link to a web site???
I said the same thing about feeding "No teeth are getting near my nipple" but I will probably keep going. It is soooo much easier BF - no bottles not too mention the extra expense. I have heard that if you take them straight off if they bite they learn not to pretty quick. :shame:
Hubby working again on sat, and andrew asleep - not sure what to do with myself. So used to having to do work and then clean house on weekends. Will need to find a new hobby. Anyone got any ideas???
Have been doing a bit of knitting but not really keeping brain switched on.
Might try to start a web site showing off my little man.
Have a lovely weekend ladies,

Hey michelle,
if you go to www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com) (click my linky :)) and start your own account then you just upload pics. I have been sectioning them off into sub-folders for easy finding. I have been doing a monthly email update with photos of garrett to family and friends - and i add photos and a link to the site as well...
Hmmm - hobbies.... Mine would have to be the gym, i become alittle bit of a gym junky. And the great thing is it is 'me' time - no worrying about others for that 1-2 hours, and it has the benifit of making me feel better too. Other than that maybe scrabbooking - or something like that.... make all the photos of andy into albums and such.
I went shopping today, was feeling depressed that nothing of my old stuff fits... well in tops. BF + pregnancy has made my bra size go from 12DD to a 12E-F - :( so none of my old shirts really fit comfortably. Pants are starting to fit again tho :)
Oh dear little man has awoken from his afternoon nap

Hope everyone is having a good night. Jase is getting me pizza cause i had no veggies to cook with dinner - HA...

Wow Bekky- G looks like a big boy in his carsear! What a cutie!
Michelle- I am a teacher and so is Phil. Poor Mackenzie will be bombarded will lessons. Think teething won't be too far off. Lots of dribbling and sucking on things. My niece got her first tooth at four months, so maybe we'll have the same thing
Mytilleroo- I don't have the motivation to do that 'exercise' thing either. I'm fitting into my clothes and am only 1kg heavier than before, so really nothing pushing me, which is prob bad.
Just a quick one. it's Phil's b.day and I'm in the middle of making him pancakes and mackenzie's stirring so we can give him pressies. Yeah!!

Morning Mummies!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! sounds like I've missed alot, just read through all your posts!...WOW
Becky - G looks sooo cute in his car seat...I thought they had to be 6 months aswell, you've proven me wrong which is great because I was worried as heath won;t be far off turning now, we've already move the staps once & the next step is obviously the turn.
Michelle - That website sounds like a great idea, let us know how you go.
Well, I went to my Antenatal Class reunion 1st meet on Thursday & it was a real hoot!....so great to see all the other little ones, such a wide age range. Heath turned out to be the oldest, & the youngest was 6wk. Nice afternoon filled with birth stories/experiences, baby stories, milestones, eye colours, laughing & lots of food! :smiliedance: Really Glad I went, they have decided that we'll do it once a fortnight so that will fit in really nicely when Heath starts swimming lessons.
Went to Lismore to see some friends, so lovely to see them, GF is 32wk pg & due in Nov, totally over it & can't wait to get her out...Don't we all know how she feels! LOL
Had FIL B'day y/day, That was nice, beautiful lunch, a few laughs. So yeah, we had a good w/end but I am really tied today & feeling a little blue, dunno y. I was gonna go to the gym today but since we've been away for 2 days I thought Heath needed a break from break in his routine. Will go tomorrow.
Well enough outta me. I got some more piccies of Heath aswell so I will update my Av.

We moved G's seat straps 2 times before we turned him. the last time it was out of the inner layer... He seems so much happier now. But each to their own.
G is being so adorable lately. He has such a personality. The other night when Jase put him to bed, he said to him good night and kissed him and then said "time for you to go to sleep now" Garrett then grinned at jase and shook his head. I thought at first that it was just a fluke. But he wouldnt go to sleep, he whinged for a good hour after that, with us taking it in turns to try and get him to sleep. Maybe he was telling us something - He didnt want to go to sleep!
Everytime we go into him in the morning when he sees us he gives off this massive full face grin. He is such a happy little man.
My memory is so shot lately... I have forgotten to take my pill for the past 3 days! I was really sick over the weekend (Jase decided to work on my car early, which ended up with me looking after garrett amongst trips to the bathroom and crawled in a ball in my bed) - oh and something happened to my car, now i cant drive it till he gets a chance to fix whatever broke... :( Im getting a new car soon (its a nissan skyline - being imported from japan, still on the boat or still there not sure which) - so fingers crossed it hurrys up. Oh and we sold one of our engines here, and the moron who bought it said he wanted to pick it up on saturday, so Jase worked hard and got it out for saturday, the only place we can put it is in our drive way... and he still hasnt picked it up...Very angry bekky. As until it goes, my car has to stay blocking it in... Ok - there is my rant over with - Garrett is sleeping, and my best friend is coming to get me soon - :)
hope everyone is well

Hi everyone. Love the new av Beckyboo - it's such a beautiful, peaceful shot!! Hope you have it in a frame at home.
DS has started rolling on his side, and moving around. In the mornings, I go to get him out of his cot, and he'll be laying across the cot instead of longways! He's fascinated with his hands at the moment, sucking them all the time. He's not a dummy fan anymore - he pretty much won't take it unless he's really really distressed.
I'm into scrapbooking too! I haven't done much since DS was born, so I have heaps to catch up on. The days are getting so nice and sunny, it's very motivating. I can't wait to set up my scrapbooking stuff on the dining room table and scrap away!!
I'm so pleased the weather is improving. I've felt a bit down the past week or so, and the sun really cheers me up. Thank goodness we're out of winter! I can get out and about with my pram!

Bekky- it must suck having to stay at home. Although the good thing is if you don't go out you can't spend $$ Mackenzie's morning smile is her biggest of the day too. I guess they miss having us during the night.
I'm having baby summer clothes overload. I thought I should wash all of Mackenzie's summer stuff as it's getting warmer. OMG i had so much stuff, everything i've bought is oo so hopefully it fits her for a while. She still fits into 000 quite comfortably so it should be ok. Anyway i made a decision not to buy any more summer stuff for now. BUT my sister and I found a new baby boutique, and they stock that 'rock your baby' brand. So i had to get her a couple of things. I got her a gorgeous hot pink summer all in one that says 'Queen of the Universe', and we got our girls matching stripy black and white t-shirts that say 'Bad Girls Rock' in hot pink with a skull and cross bones. So cute!! I think there's a website. Check it out!
Mackenzie has been very vocal lately and so loud, it's fun babbling with her. She's also pulling herself forward if you hold her hands. She loves it!!:smiliedance:

As garrett hates tummy time, he spends most of his time on his back. He can roll on to his side and almost over on to his belly tho. He moves so much on his back. We find him in all different positions under his play gym.
Those outfits sound really cute mia. I got G a little 'sticks and stones' outfit the otherday, it is so cute... Very much like a little boy, i spose thats easy to do as he is wearing 0's!
i am still stuck at home :( its really annoying. I have missed out on the gym all week - Starting to really feel that.
G is off on his morning nap, not sure how he is going to be today. Hopefully good as i have to a lot of things to prepare for the weekend :)
Just priced some flights for our christmas holiday. Only $404 return for me and Jase!!! THinking that would be cheaper than driving. And save the 10 hours!

Takling to pooh bear how cute!
I've heard that babies respond better to toys with faces. Mackenzie always babbles to her hanging bug toys, but not so much if I hang rings or anything in front of her, so maybe it's true.
Just went for a morning walk. 2nd time this week! Think you girls may have inspired me, that or the fact the summer clothes and swimmers means you need to be a little more toned. I'm trying to be healthy with my food, but it's so hard. I love food and I miss all the good stuff. This better be worth it girls! It always amazes me how many people are out and about.
Have a nice day everyone

hey Girls!
becky are you pg???? How exciting if you are!, let us know (sticky beak)
Mia, Swimmers! Ha, I am scared of even going near the draw where mine live, 1 because there is the slightest chance that they will even fit me & 2. How scarey will I look anyway! LOL. I think I better just get a more "post baby friendly" pair. I have never been a big fan of swim wear, no even less:laughing:
All you girls into scrap booking!.Alotta patience in that...I am currently trying to get all my photos organised & the nice ones blown up & into frames & on my walls. Its a mission in itself! But we'll get there. I some lovely old ones of mine & DH's grandparents on the wedding days & one of my Ma when she was about 18mth-2yr, they are all portrait size so I can't wait to see them on the walls. :smiliedance:
DS STILL not moving!...He just lyes there smiling away, talking to his fist or me. I was starting to worry but DH calmed me AGAIN. I am so nurotic these days. Oh & he's a licker!, He likes licking the floor!..Sheet, Me anything that gets within tougue distance! Love my little slobber-chops!

Dont worry ang - G is the same with licking - or sucking or chewing as the case maybe!
As for Pg, fingercrossed for the no actually. I had a shocking preg (if you guys remember) with G, and i dont want to miss that time with G being sick or in Hospital. So im actually going to go and get the implant. Its for 3 years, but Dr said you can take it out before hand if i want to get pregnant. I think its a better idea that way. At least the next one can be planned...
G is such a cute little bubba lately. He has slowed right down in weight gain (just hold out for that 3 month mark and beyond Michelle - Andy should slow down too!) and only gained 600g in the past month instead of just over a week like he used to. It will be nice to get some time out of these clothes instead of a couple of weeks out of a size!
I have a secret - but cant saything here as someone i know reads the forum, and the cat might get out of the bag - Ill keep you guys in suspence for another couple of days. Just know that i am VERY VERY excited for the weekend!

Hi everyone! I've been playing on bubhub and have just found this thread so thought I'd say hello. My gorgeous boy was born 19th June so is just on 3 months old. And getting sweeter every day.
A question for you all - what sleep habits do your bubs have? Jake seems to be sleeping well at night (7pm to 7am with a couple of half-awake feeds). But he then has an ENORMOUS sleep in the morning after only being up for 1 to 1.5 hrs. Has been asleep now for 2.5 hrs!!!!
He then has a couple of short sleeps in the afternoons.
Too long in the a.m.??
bekkyboo
21-09-2006, 12:50
Yay - another boy for June. we were outnumbered there! smidgebump - Jake was born on G's due date! He didnt make it that far...
G sleeps about the same... around 6-7.30pm - 6-7am. up for an hour or so, the done for an hour or so. Down again around 1-2 for arvo nap for an hour or so. i just work off him, he set this routine.
Ang - its ok, ill letyou know as soon as possible. Im excited, but it wouldnt really excite you guys.
G is trying really hard to speak at the moment, not just babble you can tell he is trying actually say something. When he was sooking before he was trying hard to say something, like he was trying to tell me what was wrong. He wouldnt just sook at the usual tone, it would change to a mumble of something...

Glad I could help even up the numbers! I'm surprised not more boys - my parents group of 11 has only 3 girls. Boys rule our group! :smiliedance:
Yeah I'm not really trying to impose a routine too much on Jake while he's sleeping so well at night. If he wants to sleep lots during the day too, I figure I'll let him! Growth spurt maybe. Just miss him when he's sleeping.
He hasn't done anything as exciting as trying to talk yet! :ecomcity: Wow thats cool. He did surprise the hell out of me on Friday though by rolling from his front to his back. He's done it now every time I put him on tummy so not just a fluke.
Saw you talking about licking before too - Jake licks everything!!! He drenches my chest when I'm holding him. And we were playing "can you stick out your tongue like mummy" - and he does! :p Well sort of, you can see him trying but he just sort of pokes it up toward his nose.
I'm now intrigued by your secret..... when do we find out too?

21-09-2006, 17:25
Welcome Smidgebump! Mackenzie sleeps a lot too. I figure make the most of it while it lasts! It's exciting when they roll. Mackenzie took me by surprise when she did it, she was only 8wks old.
BB-this secret sounds interesting!! I'd be careful with the implant, the couple of people I know who've had took a long time to fall pg when it was removed.
Mackenzie is also a big licker and dribbler. When I'm holding her upright, she lick and dribbles on my shoulder so much that it runs down my arm. I used to having a wet patch on my right shoulder now.
Ang- I too have have a swimmer phobia, the only time I usually swim is on holidays or really hot days. maybe if I had my own pool I'd be right. although I din't mind being in swimmers when I was pg, cause I had a tight cute little bump, now it's just loose and flabby.

21-09-2006, 18:33
G still hasnt rolled - prob becuase he doesnt have tummy time anymore. He can almost roll from his back to his front tho, he gets about 3/4 of the way there. They recon that takes longer to develop than from tummy to back, i figure he is just going to be backwards in development. He is seems to be normal or ahead in other areas, so im not really concerned. He can roll on to his side when he is on his tummy, but he is a very large baby - got to give him some credit.
Dont be too curious on my secret - its really boring for others, but at it is a surprise for someone close to me, i have to keep it a secret. Ill post over the weekend with it if i can!
Mia, i have heard that too about implants and the pill. But at the moment i really dont want to risk pregnancy and my memory isnt doing very good for me, so i need to do something about that. I have an appointment in a months time with a cardiologist about my heart, so fingerscrossed ill be able to get my heart sorted out. I really want that sorted before i get pregnant again. I really want to have a VBAC next time, so i need to wait for things to heal, and for my heart to be fixed (if it can). Im going to have a talk to my doc about the side effects tho.
anyway, my BIL is here for dinner and the boys are watching futurama, so i might go join them!

22-09-2006, 08:59
Ah, fellow Futurama fans! Great isn't it? I bought my husband series 1 & 2 on DVD for his b'day. Reckon he might be getting #3 for Xmas!
Am VERY grateful that Jake sleeps so well. Just worry sometimes cause all the info you see is on bubs NOT sleeping so you wonder if something wrong when they do!!!!
Am starting to realise that "worrying" is part of job description for mums. Like sleep deprivation and hormonal whackiness. But wouldn't swap him for the world - guess love the biggest part of the job.
Braved it last night and did some laps in local pool. Yikes. Nothing brings home the body changes like that lovely paunch hanging over the top of your bather bottoms. (Guess theres some Queenslanders among us due to "swimmers" mention - "togs" here in Vic and "bathers" in WA. I'm a Perth girl living in Melbourne, will always be bathers to me!!!!) Think am gonna have to start doing some of those exercises they gave us in post natal physio.
Off to a wedding this weekend in Sorrento. Tried on all my clothes last night and yikes again! Found an outfit thats not too bad but look a bit like I'm going to work instead of wedding. Hard to wear nice things when boobies enormous and tummy flobbly. Plus don't want to have to strip off half my gear to feed the little man! Oh well, no-one looks at me anymore anyway - any attention not on bride & groom will no doubt focus on Jake. Phew!
I know i'm coming in partway through here but - heart problem??? That sounds ominous. What happened? (Tell me to p*** off if too personal or if gone over too many times and I missed it!!)
Hmmm, someone stirring early, better dash off and try and resettle. He gets so grumpy if he doesn't get enough sleep in the mornings - bit like his mum really!!!!
have great weekends all - and GO EAGLES.... :smiliedance: :fingerscrossed: :smiliedance: :fingerscrossed:

GO THE DOCKERS!!!:smiliedance:
Well we are doing just great here on the west coast...Tillie really becoming a happy little chatty person...she started with the huge smiles in the morning too!!:D I just want to cuddle her so hard when she does it :) Infact got all teary this morning as I rang my DH and put it on speaker and Tillie was laughing and smiling at her Daddys voice and talking to him...made me really sad that he misses all this...plus yesterday she did her first ever roll!!! proper one that is...at Mothers Group...showing off!!
She is still sleeping okay last night was 6 -2.30am and then 6am...she got really tetchy though at 7.30 and wouldnt matter what I did she being a real grumble bum so I put her down in her cot- which she fought grizzling...so I walked away and sat here...and about 5 minutes later I realised she wasnt grizzling anymore so she having a good sleep before the dermatologist!
I went to Kmart yesterday and got her some really cute playclothes sooooooooo cheap...they are cheap anyway compared to Target & other shops I normally look at ...but perfect for play clothes...I got her a ra ra skirt from Bonds with knickers in it!! so sweet!! I not bought her much as we have been inundated with clothes...but like we been sent lots of certain things and 6-9 months but not so much of other things...I am finding sunhats a nightmare...they all too big...even the 000 in Target - she fits into 0000 but not sure how long will last...anyone else finding that??
I had to packaway the sweetest jemima puddle duck rompersuit today she only wore twice ...but I reckon it a small 000 as most other stuff (apart from Bonds) still fits...
I totally hear you Bekky about the recuperate thing...I am actually terrified of having a vbac now even though my ceaser was emergency & I had planned natural...think its a fear of the unknown...also scared of going over again and having tp be induced again (I will try and avoid at all cost!). I want also to have some time with Tillie before I feel morning sick again...as this lasted for weeks and weeks and would really ruin our bonding that we are doing now
I still not been swimming...put a bikini and tankini and some much needed shorts in to layby...looked a swimming cossies but cant bring myself to admit I a fat old lady who needs to wear one yet! I too hate my flabby pouch I have been left with and the stretch marks...and putting off swimming I think cos of this - but it will never go if I dont start going...I also very nervous about putting Tillie in the creche even for half and hour as I never left her with anyone(basically cos I dont have anyone to leave her with).
Ok better go load dishwasher, comb through my mop of fuzzy hair and get ready to find out just what TIllies red and scaly skin on her tummy all about...
see ya

Alegna - TIllie has 4 different types of dermatitis (eczema)...poor love...she doesnt seem to be in too much pain just itches like mad...now has to use thick moisturiser as much as possible as well as hydrocortisone, and only bathe her say once a week...as water aggravates it...she has normal eczema on her face, very dry skin all over from being overdue - or overcooked as the dermatologist said...sebbbaroic (sp?) dermatitis which weeps under her arms and some sort of latin name thing which basically means fish skin on her torso...
hey ho...he doesnt seem to think anything I eating... they can do tests when I start feeding solids...110 dollars that cost us for 10 minute consulatation...

Hi everyone. Welcome to the June Mums Megan - I only just found this thread too! I went to the Melbourne bubhub meet today, met some lovely bubhubbers. Are any of the June mummies from Melbourne?
DS behaved very well. He slept most of the time, which is always good! He's started rolling from his back onto his tummy, but hasn't figured out how to roll back so he just rolls onto his tummy and then cries until Mummy comes and fixes him!
Bekk - I've been watching Neighbours repeats too. It's funny, I never used to watch the show, and I still don't watch the 6.30 episode. I only watch the morning repeats!
Georgie - You're a dockers fan! I'm a Sydney supporter... this could get interesting!
Must go - the weekend is starting, and I have to have my celebratory glass of wine!

Welcome to June mummies Megan!
Georgie- glad you have some answers about Tillie's skin. Dr are such a rip off aren't they! Do skin issues run in your family. I've heard too that asthma goes along with eczema. My friens'd bub has allergies. i got mackenzie one of those Bonds ra ra skirts too. Hot pink, they are too cute. Bonds has some good stuff, they're so reasonably prices, I firgure they can be her play clothes and daycare clothes for next year.I've only got one sun hat. It's a Fred bare one, it fits quite well and I think it's an XS
I too have been watching the neighbours repeats. It's great, 6:30 is Mackenzie's dinner and bath time so I miss it if it my turn to do the duties. Sadly I even watch if i've already seen it. I could have missed something.
It mas warm here today, but obv not as warm as Qld. Mackenzie wore a summer outfit for the first time, long pants and short sleeve top. That was exciting, it's strange seeing her arms out.
Have a nice weekend girls.

well well ladies - here is my secret!!! I was coming back to my home town to surprise my mum for her birthday. 6 and a half hour drive.
G was very very well behaived for the trip. Got to my brothers house, and it was past his bedtime, so he wasnt very happy, but tried to keep it together. By the time we arrived out here to my parents house, he was so overtired and just screamed the house down. Jase settled him. But then we argued (by argued i mean i said something jase got the ****s, i went quiet) and i then fed G to sleep on our bed, he will be sleeping with us tonight, He freaked out when i put him in the portacot here, even tho it was in our room - he didnt know it.
Anyway - i best get off here - my brother was using the computer... and G is asleep with Jase, i dont want him to wake and then not see me there - it will be on for young and old again

 Hi All...
Just noticed this site, and had a look around.... Awesome!
I'm also a June Mum.... I had a baby boy, Kedon Paul on June 14th 06. He weighed 8 lb 8 oz, and was 53 cm long. Any other bubs born on the same day? Look forward to chatting to others in here... are there many from Adelaide?

Hi June Mummies,
This is the first time I've actually had a moment to check out how everyone and their bubs are doing. Its really great to read and hear how everyone is going.
I know personally, I'm going insane from lack of sleep, but when Adia smiles I just melt so somehow it all balances out!!
She is on my lap right now as I type because she's just woken up and is grumpy. Does anyone else find that their babe just wants to be in their arms all day?
I've just bought a hug-a-bub and am eagerly awaiting its arrival because there are only so many things you can do with one hand and I tell you, washing the dishes with one hand takes a very long time! :)
Hope everyone is well and I hope I get to post my birth story before I forget it completely.
Isn't it funny how worried we all where about labour... its such a small blip on the map now huh!

Hi CJ- congrats and welcome back
Kedons_Mum- congrats on the birth of your little man-welocme to June mummies- you'll be addicted before you know it.
What a nice weekend it has been. The weather here has been lovely. We got Mackenzie a couple of 000 summer outfits yest, cause all the 00 that I have bought are still swimming on her. She'll prob only get a couple of weeks or so out of them, but she needed them.
Heading out to lunch on the harbour today, it's our 2 yr anniversay tom, so we thhought we'd do lunch today, it's a bit easier and it's such a nice day. I get my eternity ring tom :smiliedance: We picked it up yest, but I'm waiting til tom to wear it. I love it!
My poor friend was due on Friday, no news yet, I know how she feels, poor girl!
Well I'm off to enjoy this beautiful day.

Morning everyone! Monday again, don't the weeks fly? My poor hubby (Matty) he hates going off to work when so much fun and joy at home. But then maybe would be different if here every day.
Nice to hear some are having warm weather! Still winter mostly here in Melb. Had beach wedding down Sorrento on Sat arvo (and missed watching Eagles victory, damn!) had to rug up as was blowing a gale. Lucky no rain though. Bride looked gorgeous - is 4 mths pg so had fab cleavage for dress!! And is all glowy. I love weddings. Speaches made me go all teary - groom is just lovely and made the whole room go weepy speaking about his bride.
Bekky - finally can stop trying to guess secret huh! Bet your mum was chuffed. Mine will be here Thurs (driving from WA for footy grand final). Love mum visits.
But don't you pay for travelling with babes! Overnight in sorrento after wedding - Jake passed around from pillar to post then tried portacot when massively overtired. Went to sleep but woke EVERY 2 HOURS and only way to settle was a feed. Thought boobs were gonna drop off.
Hi to all the newbies like me. Warning - seriously addictive!!!!! Nice to chat to all who have similar age bubs.
Poor little Tillie - skin probs sound ouchie! Does she have to have allergy tests?
Trying to get Jake back into routine (well as much of one as we have) over next couple days after his "big adventure" to Sorrento. Had to wake him up this morning as looked like he was going to sleep to lunch time!! Was up late last night so will see if waking him this morning can start to get him back to normal.
Oh - does anyone know about hearing protection for babies?? We've got grand final tix Saturday and am worried about crowd noise. But want Jake to see Eags win! :fingerscrossed:
Have lovely day all!
Dani xx

sorry ladies, this will be quick, i am on my way out. Ill read and reply soon
here is this from my diary - (its all written as a letter to garrett)
You had a bath early in the evening, you really enjoyed this bath, but you smiled really big, fluffed and filled the bath with poo... needless to say, you were taken out rather quickly. You then slept all night! The trip home you got annoyed at the end, but otherthan that you were pretty good.
Today you were having some tummy time, and it appears you can wiggle and moved alot on your belly too, you turned yourself more than 90degrees, once you get some strength in your arms there will be no stopping you.

Thanks Girls, Had a lovely day. I love getting jewellery i'm a jewellery-a-holic. Just had a lovely dinner at home, i made an antipasto plattter and we had some wine and choccies.
Spent the day having lunch with two friends, prg one still waiting, I jump at every SMS beep. Went to visit my sister and niece, Indy. Indy's taken to taking all the CDs off the shelf and placing the CDs all around the room. Shandy says Indy thinks she's a DJ.
OMG- we got our first electricity bill since we've had AC for the whole time, we almost cr**ped ourselves. Bad, bad, bad!!! U can't imagine how big it was.
Mackenzie's had a great day, slept the whole time I was at lunch and has pretty much slept the whole time between feeds, she must be a tired girl!
Bekky-hope you enjoyed ur w.end with ur mum.

Welcome to all the newbies - hope you enjoy this thread as much as the rest of us!
Mia - glad you had a good day. I know about elec bills, they can be nasty hey! G slept as much as mac over the weekend too, might have been the weather for it.
Yeah, it was a nice weekend with my mum, she was very happy to see us. Im trying to convince jase to take us back to tamworth for christmas instead of going to mackay, its too hot there, G is having enough trouble with the sudden heat burst here.
I cant believe that G can move so much even on his belly! We are going to have to get a wriggle on and fix things up, i have a feeling he will be an early crawler.
Anyway, he is sleeping now... so i should get somethings done...

Not much on the cards for me today. Pretty tired Jackson didnt sleep real well last night it was pretty warm. Might catch up on a bit later on! I felt so bad this morning because I was so tired I didnt get up this morning with Dp and make his lunch for the day. He was up with Jackson too, and still managed to get up and go to work!
Speaking of work im thinkin about getting an afternoon job just to help the cash flo into the house! Things can get pretty tuff with one income and centrelink dont help when they are cutting off my payment!
Anyway Other that all that Everything is pretty good here Jackson is 3 months in 4 days OMG that has gone quick
Hows everyones little bubs going?

Morning Groovers!
Tamworth hey Becky!....I Love that town I don't know why I just have always been a fan. They have done tones of work there I hear, must look fantastic now.
Electricity Bills, I am sure there is a little fat man sitting in an office on another planet just randomly plucking number out of his head for our bills. I am not looking forward to ours either. We have tried but we'll wait & see what the damage is. These last 3 months in the yr are hell for Bills & $$.
For our GC Mummies - I live at Canungra (Bush):D so if you wanna catch up I am free for the most part, would be lovely to meet new faces.
Becky, your not to far away either are you? maybe we could make a day of it or somethin??
Megan, I know what you mean re: $$ Its a blow out when you go from 2 incomes with no children to 1 income with children!!!! I am supposed to go back in Jan but have been putting my feelers out now just incase something better comes up hours wise. There are heaps on careerone & jobsearch, just a matter if finding the right one I guess.
Dani, How have you gone with your little ones' routine? Back in the swing of it for you I hope!
Well, Heath has his shots y/day & did really well. i got a bit worried as when I got him home I was expecting him to be fussy & grizzle but he just slept! &...Slept! He's fine though. All over for another 2 months.
Anyway enough of my essay. Catcha!

All this talk of work is depressing isn't it! I go back in Feb 3 days a week, I'm already starting to stress about it. I would love to stay home f/t but it's just not possible. Teachers wages aren't so good when there's only one of them. I'm lucky as I'm still getting maternity leave payments at half pay, but it's still a stretch.
I'm just researching photographers at the moment for the best digital packages. I like the idea of getting the disc of professional photos and developing them yourself. I really want soem nice photos of Mackenzie and some family ones but i don't want to spend an absolute fortune. Has anyone else had photos done?
Mackenzie is still sleeping well, but the last two mornings she's woken at 5am instead of 6am, which is a bit of a killer after being able to sleep that extra hour. I think she may have been cold this morn, as she had wriggled completely out of her wrap and blanket. Moving her downstairs to her own room and cot on Friday :fingerscrossed: that she doesn't notice the change too much.
Well think I might go and get tonight's dinner organised. Spaghetti and meatball tonight.:chef:
Have a great day girls

Mia, we had some pixi photo shots done when G was about 4 weeks old. one thing to say - NEVER AGAIN. Crapola photos, my hair was out of place, but she never bothered to tell me, G looked strange in a couple.. generally not worth it - but darling hubby decided he liked them, so 400odd later, we have some photos that I dont really even want. Im thinking about getting a friend to take some, our friend that did our wedding shots.... but whatever the case - never pixi again.
As for teachers wages, I should know about that, My Sister, SIL are both teachers (secondry and primary respectively) and both my brothers are at Uni studying education... It can be really tough. Here in our family, Jase is a renderer and just got a promotion to foreman - so money is alright here. Im thankful everyday that i can stay home F/T. Im looking for stay at home work tho.... Just had a thought - could you do tutoring from home?? that would bring in some extra money but you can stay home....
G has learnt to use his feet to bang things under his play gym. He was there under it looking down at his feet and banging the toys... clever little man.
Well i better go - but before i do, here are some photos of my little pumpekin today....

Tillie just laughed and smiled through 1/2 hour swimming and has now zonked out in her cot :) She only cried when I changed her back into normal clothes...she was like a little mermaid with her groovy cossie and frilly board shorts...I stupidly left camera at home...so will have to take piccie next week and pretend first swimming for her scrapbook...
Just have to wait and see how her skin goes...I slapped on the cream straight after so fingers crossed!!
Now just have to pick up courage to leave her in the creche there so I can do some proper swimming and get rid of my jelly belly!!

I have been soo sick over the past few days. I'm just soo over being sick all the time. Does anyone else feel like they've been rundown since having their bub? I can't stand this feeling!
DS is rolling so much now. I put him under his playgym, and I come back five minutes later and he's smiling on the carpet. It's very cute, but it worries me as well. He wakes up a few times every night screaming because he's turned sideways in his cot and has his feet caught in the railings. He's rolling onto his tummy to sleep as well, which is a worry!
Let me know how Tillie's swimming goes! I want to start DS soon. What nappies do you put them in? He tends to poo in water!!
Beckyboo - Garrett's new pics are gorgeous! He looks like such a snuggly little guy, and he has his "boy face", if you know what I mean!

Im going to look into taking Garrett swimming, its been so hot here, at least he will get to cool down.
Well i think little man is going to cut his first tooth soon. We can see white under his gums, he is sucking (biting) on anything that goes close to his mouth, his wet nappys have changed smell and his dirty ones are alot more runny. He is been alot more difficult lately. He is also very interesting in what we are eating, and has started waking through the night, so we are going to start him on solids next week. I gave him a thickener this afternoon to help with his reflux, he was confused by the spoon at first, but by the end of it he was right into it.....
Well lovlies... i best be off, Master is sleeping, and hubby is watching tv on his lonesome.

Been out and about the last couple of days so haven't had a chance to post. Not much happening here.
Went up to work yesterday to sort out work for next year:( Working Wed- Fri. Mackenzie was hysterical when we were up there. She had a sleep from 11-12 and then we left, it's a 40ish minute drive and instead of sleeping she talked the whole way up. By the time we got there she was so overtired and got herself into such a state. She screamed like never before!! My boss said it was because she knew why I was there.
My friend had her baby yest:yelclap: A little girl named Summer 8lb 6oz. Another girlie for our group. And another emerg caesar. Very strang there's been so many caesars in the Private Hosp I went to. Anyway going to see her tomorrow. Can't wait to see a little bubs, Mackenzie will look huge next to her.
I want to take mackenzie swimming too, but I'm not that keen on actually getting in with her, I was thinking maybe Phil could do it.
Mackenzie is very intersted in us eating also, she just follows with her eyes, even with strangers when we're out. she too sounds like she's trying to actually say something when say talks. She's learnt to take turns at talking, she says her bit, then waits for me to respond. It's very cute.
It's her last night in our room tonight. It was supposed to be her first cot night, but I was out til late last night and wasn't here to put her down for the last time so I pushed it back a day:crying: It's sad that she won't be with us anymore.

Hey mia. I feel for you about going back to work, although at times lately i wish i could. i just want to have my brain working for some other purposes - and the money would be good too. You guys are a couple of weeks off starting solids hey? Im frustrated enough to be waiting until Wednesday when he is offically 4 months. He is waking through the night again, and this teething business - dont get me started.
We have started weaning him off breastmilk too. He is much better on formula... Im weaning him off over the next month. I have 5 feeds to wean...
He has been playing content under his playgym for an hour now! Been told it is good to encourage him to entertain himself, as when he gets older he can play by himself. G quite likes his own company...

Hey Bekky- glad to hear G enjoyed his food. Did you start solids early? I've been told not to start til she's 6 months and my friends are all the same. I was told she could taste from earlier. Something to do with allergies and the tongue thrusting also??
mackenzie has become a pat-a-holic. she won't sleep unless she patted to sleep, but it's only happened since we went up to work that day. It's strange normally we put her in the rocker and she'll nod off f she's tired, but noth the last couple of day. Don't want her to need to be rocked. Trying to ignore her at the mo cause she's whinging, it's hard tho. She talks herself into overtiredness, I think she likes the sound of her own voice. Anyone else having this issue!!
She did survive her first night in her own bedroom and cot last night, with no isssues, put her down at 10pm as per usual and she didn't wake until 6am. It was a bit chillly down there tho. It ws sad not having her in my room, but it had to be done.
Went to visit my friend and her bub last night. She's so little (even tho she was 8p6). We're going to take a photo with all the little girls in their stripey bonds outfits all laid on the bed tomorrow. How cute!!
Well enjoy this sunny Sunday girls!

Hi there,
I havent read thru all the posts yet but I was wondering if I might join you?
My second daughter was born in June. She was tiny, just 6lbs 6oz.
I'm really enjoying her at this stage - she's all smiles.
I am a member of another parenting forum and all the June mums seem to be giving their babies solids now? I'm not though..... is anyone else not planning on solids anytime soon? I'm in no hurry for my little girl to grow up!
Looking forward to getting to know you all and see what your bubs are up to!

HI phineas - welcome!!!:smiliedance:
I am in no rush either...I breast feed solely and am far too lazy right now to do all the weaning thing...plus my baby so content...dont want to try to rock boat...yeh in my mothers group lots of people started mainly from curiosity to see if bubs would...or cos they got highchair and want to try...I am in no rush either... plus i read alot about it preventing allergies if you start them at 5-6 months...and the WHO recommend 6 months too...having said that there is a girl in my mums n bubs whose milk dried up she was so sad...she then started formula and bubs still hungry so her CHN given the ok to start weaning but he nearly 5 months anyway...
are you going to make all your foods or buy them...I think we will make...and buy the organic stuff when going on long trips etc...
wow yuo lucky 6lbs 6oz...mind you my mom had 4 girls and the largest was that I was 5lbs something...my little monster was a hefty 9 lbs 5oz...;)

Hi phineas, I am still BF and in no hurry to stop. Am blessed with a great milk supply. All is well so why change anything. I like being his sole provider. I too am in no hurry for him to grow up.
Glad solids are working out Bek:yelclap:
My friend in Bris with the little girl 4"15' is home but had to leave Trinity at hospital. Gorgeous, precious, tiny, tiny little thing - less than half Andys BW.
Have made web page through optus with pictures. http://members.optusnet.com.au/mbouffler
Grand Final on. Go Broncos.
Glad a few of you have tried out swimming. I want to just so I can put on his swimmers - so cute. Little 'speedos' and swimshirt or little one piece short suit. So you buy water nappies??? Have to check it out.
So where can we catch up GC/Bris ladies?? I'd love a reason to go down beach. Haven't been since A born. Or Sunnybank is nice? That would give me chance to go on train with A before I fly with him. We are going to fly to Dubbo via Sydney to see my mum. Going without DH so a bit nervous about venturing so far on my own. Any travel tips????
Hazel79 - sorry to hear your not feeling well. I have been feeling a little err myself. I think I am getting my monthlys again:( It was so nice - a year without the hassle.
Hey ladies, does it bother you that we pay GST on ladies products? It's just wrong.
Going to watch end of footy.
Take care mummies

Hey Bekkyboo, tell me more about solids!! I can't wait. Do they find it hard to swallow and take food from a spoon?
DS is such a terrible milk-drinker, I reckon he's going to need solids soon. He's just soo hard to feed. He barely drinks, I don't know how he grows.
I'm feeling a little better today, although I have no voice.

Welcome phineas- congrats on your little girl.
Mackenzie loves her bottles so we won't be feeding until 6 months, it makes me sad to think we're almost at that stage tho. I'm going to make her food, I've already bought the little Avent food cups. I'll just make a big batch and freeze it. They say at first to store it in ice cube trays cause that's all they'll need, so I'll do that at first.
She has survived her 2nd night in her room. She had her 6am feed this morn, and is still down there sleeping. What a treasure!
Bekky-have any of G's teeth shown yet. I think teething is very close, she had a red shin yesterday and they say that's a sign of teething. We've been massaging her gums at bath time and she loves it. Her tongue tickles our finger.
Phil is now on holidays and ruining our routines already, mackenzie is different when daddy is home, so I'm training him, so when he goes back to work it's all still going smoothly. She put herself to sleep a couple of times yest. :smiliedance: I thinkmaybe she's going thru a growth spurt, ause she's drinking more all of a sudden and is unsettled a bit more during the day. A least it's not night, Touch wood!

It is ok to start soilds at 4 onths, but it has to be with rice ceral and not to replace any of their feeds. We started G as he was waking through the night, getting harder to put to sleep, overly interested in what we were eating... So we have started farex. For us it had nothing to do with 'wanting' to start soilds, but the fact that he was ready.
Under his gums at the front on the bottom there is a white spot where the tooth is. But they go up and down so much before they actually surface, so im not expecting too much yet.
Hazel, We started G on farex, 1 teaspoon the first day then increased to 2 teaspoons the second. We mixed EBM into it. He was alittle confused by the spoon at first, but by the end of the feed he loves it. He moves it around in his mouth for the first couple of spoons, but he gets the hang of it. I feed him between sides (they say after a feed) but this way works well for us, becuase he gets all excited from the solids, that he thinks he is hungry - and then actually feeds really well of the second (used to just have a couple of sucks and be over it)... Solids has worked for us, and G loves it. Youll see on the packets that they say from 4mths is ok, but not before. From 6 months they NEED solids, as they dont get enough from milk. So from 4 its just to get them used to it. It all depends on the baby, youll see what i mean....
Ive started weaning because i dont want to BF anymore. Yeah, it has been working for us, sort of. But he is so more content and reflux is so much better on his formula. Ive tried the thickener with BM, it works for his reflux, but he isnt as settled. So im weaning him off over the next month.
Welcome phineas, Of course your welcome here!

Hey Bekky-hope you're feeling better. I've been really tired the last couple of days. Probably due to Miss Mackenzie being unsettled. Sooking must be in the air.
We think she did have a bit of a growth spurt. She's so much bigger the last two days. It's weird isn't it. She was a bit better today, she had a good sleep with me on the lounge this arvo. And she just fell asleep in her rocker now.
Her poor chin is peeling now after being so red, I've been putting amolin on her chin. We've got photos next week thru the company that does that hosp photos, you get a free sitting with three poses. And they send you the photos in the mail, so there's no pressure to buy. We're going to get two of Mackenzie (one naked, one dressed) and a family photo. If they aren't that good we'll go elsewhere.

Megan - G is teething so here are the signs from him. Been lot more sooky, rosey cheeks, pulling at ears, chewing on everything, drooling lots and he had a white bit under his gum at the front on the bottom... Hope this helps...
Ahhh Susan - Not fun with the gastro.... Ive been off colour for a week or so, but nothing is confirmed as to why.
Mia - The ones that were done through the hopsital of G were terrible... MFP or something studios....

Bekky- I went to the clinc nurse today and she said maybe he is but its unlikely. Hes only just turned three months. So Im not sure. DP noticed that he is pulling his ears lately. but we have put that down to tiredness. He has a rattley chest and has a minor cough so could be to do with that! Time will tell~
3 Weeks left til we get on the plane and go to tassie for 2 weeks! staying with the Inlaws. Could be interesting, they havent met Jackson yet. Cant wait to see his reaction. Hes great with strangers he just laughs at them!
Anyway Thats all I got right now.
Not a bad thread here haha

Great news Kiwibird! How exciting for you!!
Bekky- were your hosp photos GFP? That's who did ours, but ours turned out ok. I figure if they're **** I'll just send thm back.
Megan- Mackenzie is the same with the dribbling and stuff. My niece got her first tooth at 4 months but so you never know. We gave mackenzie her teething toy the other night and she was chomping down on it, at first I gave her my finger which she tried to eat. Ah visits with the inlaws- how lucky you are.
Susan- gastro doesn't sound like much fun, hope you didn't pass it onto Sabrina, don't imagine those nappies would be much fun.

Hey Mia - Yeah they were GFP... The chick didnt seem to care too much about how he looked. He was asleep and she pushed the suit selves up (which made him look chubby as) and when we got them - his head was a complete box shape. She didnt even bother to check how he looked...
Megan - As their teeth go up and down and such before they come out - some babies start feeling the effects of teething around 3 months...
Anyway - Im off..
