Friends Needed

Hi girls,

First of all I'd like to say hi. My name is Emma, I'm almost 27, married & I have a 2 1/2 year old son called Max. I originally come from England we moved to Oz nearly a year ago but we are still finding things really tough. We live in Merrimac on the gold coast & I would love to meet new people & hopefully make some great friends with other mums & their tots. Most days are spent hanging around the house singing, playing & doing all the other silly things that mums do but we could both do with companionship as it all gets a bit lonesome. We love to go to the parks & for walks along the beach so if you're one of those mums in a similar situation to me & you fancy having a chat or meeting up for a playdate I would greatly appreciate your reply.

I would normally love to but will be heading to hospital soon for the birth of my next bub. I have a son too he is 3 in July :)

There are usually a few people lurking on the forums so should not be too hard to get some people out for a playdate!

Thanks Emma :) only 7days to go (next friday) I really should change my ticker lol to match my c-section date but oh well.

Once I have settled into a routine with bub I will start lurking on the forums again and will see if you want to catch up.
Would be great chatting I think, hubby and I want to go to England when I have finished my B. Education degree.

Hi everyone,

I'm also from the UK originally, although my husband and I have been out here for nearly 3 years now. I'll be keen to meet up with other people in similar situations - i'm 28 and our first baby is due in 13 weeks. Life will change a lot, and i'll need other mums to talk to and meet for walks in the park and coffee... (6 months mat leave). Admittedly for the next 10 weeks i'll still be working and frantically trying to sort out nursery type things, but after that i'll be free for fun stuff!:flowerz:

Hi Emnmax and everyone else,
Just letting you know that the libraries on the gold coast have some good programs for mums and bubs and toddlers.
On tuesday at broadbeach library (across from pac fair) there is a baby rhyme time session at 10am. That's great for meeting other mums... but if your bub is a bit older they also have storytimes too...

I got that emailed to me yesterday. Looks like there are a few good things. Southport is closest for me, they have the baby ones on thursdays and the toddler ones on tuesdays.
There is also a creepy crawly thing too that looks fun.

I might have to head to them one day!

Hi there Em ive just read ur post an cant believe my eyes ha lol im stace and also have a lil boy called max who was 2 in june and we also moved here from emgland only 6 weeks ago so know exactly how u are feeling right now i am finding it quite lonely in the days too... im not sure how far away we are but i live in carrara, nerang and wud loved to meet sometime for coffee and chats :) hope to hear from ya huni cheers x :wave:
