I have seen threads for the other states, but can't find one for Melbourne. Has a date been arranged yet?
I was just wondering same thing LOL:)

I posted a post in the Annual tread about 4 days ago asking the same question:no: no ones replied:(

Sorry ladies - completely my fault. Myself and Razzle were looking to organise for Melbourne - she is always busy, and I'm always disorganised. :o
But your enthusiasm has inspired me!!! The date, nationwide, is Saturday, June 13.
I think somewhere nice and central is the best plan *runs off to look at map*
* Carlton Gardens?
* Fitzroy Gardens? East Melb.
* Ceres Environmental Park, Brunswick/Northcote?
* Yarra Bend Park? (Fairfield)
Thoughts, people?

I have no idea where it is except its in Fitzroy and Im guessing theres ample parking???
It's between Fitzroy proper and the City - tucked in behind the MCG on one side, and the Houses of Parliament on the other. Not sure about parking but it looks like there would be quite a bit of street parking to the East Melbourne side.
Nearest train stations are Flinders St (bit of a walk) and Jolimont (closer ...)

I think the Carlton Gardens?
would be better theres trams near by and
there's carparking at the museum for $10 a day
for people driving so they
saying that its on a weekend so parking would be more available than on a week day wherever it is

I'm coming - but outside, June in Melbourne :rain:?
Last year I froze .... But loved meeting all the ladies :goodvibes:
So, I'm coming, but maybe can we look for undercover?
Hmmm - off to think a little....
Undercover is a VERY good idea, WCM, but I don't know Melbourne well enough to offer any central options. A play centre, or covered playground, perhaps? I think our main criteria be that it is central, free (or cheap) and public transportable as well as car parking.
How about inside the museum?
Cheap? : free for kids and concession, $8 for adults (no concession)
Accessible? : $10 undercover parking, near museum train station (@ Melb. central), street parking if you can find one!
Undercover? : yep.. also a cafe , playground and kids area, the cafe has a kids lunchbox for sale and I checked that they are cool with bringing special foods (allergy or baby)
what do you think?

Thanks for the stickiness, Veve ...
I think the Museum is a BRILLIANT idea, but just wanted to check everyone is OK with an admission charge ... $8 for adults.
REMINDER: JUNE 13 ... that's 13 days away :D
Who's there?
Oh Veve... it's not really copying when we are talking about the MELBOURNE museum! I mean it's like chalk and cheese! little country town Brissie and chic cosmopolitan Melbourne!? no comparison! :p ;)
I'll be there with bells on! :D .. Saturday week.. it's on the calendar! Do we have a time or meeting point?
the museum is free for kids AND also free for anyone with a concession/pension card (I really didn't write that well in my last post!) .. if you don't have a card the adult entry price is $8
DATE: Saturday June 13
TIME: 10.15-11.30 am
PLACE: Museum Cafe, Melbourne Museum. Map HERE (http://museumvictoria.com.au/pages/65/mm-visitor-guide.pdf).
Notes: Well, unlike the Brissie girls, we aren't ALLOWED to have pink balloons. :crying: Apparently the gases are bad for artwork or something ... but they WILL let me make a pretty sign, and have a little area cordoned off for us.
I'll try and make sure there is cake, to make up for the tragedy of no balloons :smiliedance:
Can we have a roll call for some vague idea of numbers, please? See, I'll go first!
Jaq, Annika (4) and Sofia (2), possibly DH Nick.
Looking forward to meeting you all!:D
count us in!
Jo, Flynn (14 months), Jess (10) and possibly DH Sean.

I know Jag will have pink hair, I'll go looking for my pram ribbon to tie onto my.... um handbag LOL
